I really dont know wether the list are seperate or a single list, but what i know is our allocated slots are 11 while 5 people made the meeit list, three stakeholders candidates that i know from my state have all collected, 1 is a former dpr directors son, 1 is a former governors son, 1 is a daughter of a serving minister of state, and the last one didnt even apply wallai,

Hello all, I hardly post on Nairaland (for obvious reasons).
I just want to share a discovery I made yesterday and let you draw your own inferences.
I was in one of DPR's field offices yesterday for a personal business and discovered (was not told) that out of the 4 ND guys taken for the state, only 1 went for the training/induction as the remaining 3 will be having theirs on a later date.
Interestingly, their list didn't come out at the same time........

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has intensified efforts in the search for hydrocarbon deposits in the Bida basin to shore up the economic potentials of the state.
This was disclosed by Engr Yakubu Mohammed, the chief executive officer of Whitepage International Concept Limited, a consulting firm with the specialty in oil and gas development services, and environmental policy support and management to fast-track the project.
Governor Bello had set up a highly technical team to work with Whitepage to carry out a research on hydrocarbon occurrence in the Bida basin.
This particular research by the state government is an independent one conducted in collaboration with Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger state.
“The idea is at the end of the day both analysis and report from Whitepage and IBB University will be presented to the NNPC to confirm if the state has hydrocarbon deposits in commercial quantity to necessitate further action,” he said.
He said to buttress government seriousness, the governor recently visited the Group Managing Director of NNPC, Engr Maikanti Baru, with a request that oil company plays its part in order to fast-track the project.
Engr Mohammed said his firm is currently in talks with a number of investors, with some of them have recently visited the country and held talks on the project.
The Bida basin is an NW-SE trending intracratonic sedimentary basin extending from Kontagora in Niger State to areas slightly beyond Lokoja in Kogi state.
The largest portion of the basin (the northern part), which occurs in the southern half of Niger state, constitutes the study area for hydrocarbon deposits.
The firm has been conducting a survey and preliminary works, as well as drilling of shallow test wells at various locations of the Bida basin to provide better information of the petroleum system.
A preliminary report has been forwarded to the Niger state government by the firm, according to Engr Mohammed.

The Presidency has released a full list of all the appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari since he assumed office on May 29, 2015.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, released the list of 159 appointees on Saturday night, a copy of which his office emailed to PREMIUM TIMES.

“Here is an updated table of President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointments, disproving the allegations of lopsidedness,” the presidential spokesperson said while forwarding the list to journalists.

In the list, Mr. Adesina identified (in red letters) appointees he said BusinessDay left out of a list of 100 it recently published.

Mr. Adesina had earlier on Saturday released a graphical representation of the appointments in response to a report by BusinessDay that an overwhelming majority of the Mr. Buhari’s appointees were from his native northern region.

The BusinessDay report that 81 of the president’s 100 political appointees are northerners is “misleading”, Mr. Adesina, said in the statement he circulated on Saturday morning.

“To claim, suggest or attempt to insinuate that the President’s appointments are tilted in favour of a section of the country is simply untrue and certainly uncharitable,” he said.

Mr. Adesina then provided a graphical illustration of different states and the number of top appointees from the respective states.

The graph shows that Ogun state has the highest number of appointments with 21, followed by Imo and Kano states with 15 each, and Edo and the president’s home state of Katsina with 14 each.

The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has no appointee — the worst case; while Ebonyi and Abia have two each, Kebbi has three, while Zamfara, Sokoto, Oyo, Enugu, Ekiti and Akwa Ibom have four each.

PREMIUM TIMES has not independently verified those figures, and the list released on Saturday night.
Mr. Adesina picked holes in the newspaper report, saying at least 50 appointees who are not from the north had been left out.

“From all records, majority of the President’s appointees across different portfolios are not from the North, as the publication erroneously alleged,” he said.
A spokesperson for BusinessDay could not be immediately reached for comments.

Hello. please i need clarification. Which number on both the NIN slip and the national identity card is that actual national identity number? I have both the card and the slip and there are a bunch of figures on both. I cant figure out which one is the actual national identity number.

The National Identification Number, referred to as NIN is on the "NIN slip". NIN is written on the left hand side of the slip. You can't find the NIN on the main card, having the NIN is much more important than the card itself. The NIN is an equivalent of the social security number used by the US.

Greetings to whoever is reading this at this moment. I joined nairaland for sometimes now and I have been enjoying the forum greatly, but my only disappointment is whenever I go through peoples comment, especially on sensitive issues like religion and politics. The consolation I give to myself is that "well, this is a social media,anybody can express an opinion". But my major problem is the perception of the religion Islam.
At this point before I continue, let me quote something Ahmed Deedat once said "Thank God I knew Islam before knowing muslims". Please my point is, there is a great difference between a muslim and Islam, so please what you should seek to know is Islam and not a muslim and you can do this by knowing the scriptures and seeking explanations where you get confused but never and never look at a person's action and conclude about the religion (this applies to every religion) and furthermore do not interpret the message of a scripture just literally, try to find out more and deeper explanation about why and when it was revealed (some scriptures are strictly for just some circumstances which may have nothing to do with you).
Reason I am writing this is because I can not and will not guarantee you that in this present age there is a human who is a complete reflection of his or her religion (even if there is, you may never come across such around you). So please people you should know that "ISLAM AND A MUSLIM IS NOT THE SAME" P/S: It was confirmed during the time of prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) that a time will come when if you count a THOUSAND among his Ummah (followers) only ONE will make it to Heaven.
