Politics / Re: ‘2019 Election Will Be The Easiest For President Buhari’ – Festus Keyamo by enlady(f): 8:01am On May 01, 2018
Keyamo is already starting his campaign job with false propaganda. The media release by Fed ministry of works on the 2nd Niger Bridge claimed "44% of early stage works completed", not 40% of the total construction. Even the so-called "44% of early stage works completed" is a deceitful propaganda. What does that imply in engineering parlance?

This MURIC professor has no moral rights to call for joint protest. He has been consistently spewing hate speech and threats against christians.
He must think we have selective amnesia. He was recently stirring up religious sentiments over ordinary 100 naira note.

The threat in the middle belt is more deadly than what you have in Ekiti or Ogun state. I have never heard of any attacks in Ekiti leading to up to ten casualities.
Trust me the indigenous communities have tried all this vigilante ideas. The hunters can only help to an extent. The Fulani militia is deadly, vicious and sophisticatedly armed. In January this year, over 70 were killed within 3 days in Benue state alone. This is beyond hunters and local vigilante.

drkay:

These are probable solutions as you said but they are not going to be feasible without the support of the federal government. The president isn't ready to take a very harsh action against his own people unlike the way he handled some previous cases in other regions.
I believe Fayose's approach of involving the local hunters, with little or no publicity will be very effective. It was the same approach most communities have been using in some parts of ogun state and its been very effective. Brave hunters don't need any sophisticated weapon to wipe them out.
I am sure that mysterious death of scores of herdsmen and their cows after entering a farmland will send good message to them than all those noise.

The Benue case is even worse. They are chronic sycophants. They were the most vocal in supporting Buhari last week during the house debate on the aircraft purchase saga.

istandfortruth:
Meanwhile, Buhari is buying enough time for them to finish with Benue. Here's what he said yesterday "We are doing our best to make sure we have stopped the cross-border and so on, and — to get the weapons from the (inaudible) and weapons in the region checked. But it’s going to take time..."

It's my two cents to Benue. I wonder how many encounters it will take to learn one single lesson...

Politics / Re: Osinbajo Fumes At Physical Persecution Of Christians by enlady(f): 5:16am On May 01, 2018
Osinbanjo should go and sit down. Nigerians in the south do not understand the threat to Christianity this herdsmen attacks in the middle belt portend. It is different from the Boko haram insurgency in the North east. It is a land grab.
Most displaced communities in the predominantly christian middle belt are today occupied by Fulani herdsmen. The indigenous inhabitants have been chased away. Today they are IDPs or have relocated to urban areas. I can state a documented case of 54 communities completely occupied in 2 LGAs of Plateau state alone.
The Fulani herdsmen in the middle belt today are an army of occupation

This write up is very annoying. Let the govt stop the ethnic cleansing in the middle belt. Then no one will talk politics
You cannot deceive Nigerians or the international community. They are watching Buhari and his appointees body language.
Politics / Re: Herder-farmer Clashes Or Ethnic Cleansing? by enlady(f): 4:55am On May 01, 2018
Let me give you a case in one state alone.
Over 54 communities have been displaced in two LGAs of Plateau state alone. It is well documented. The indigenous inhabitants are either IDPs or have relocated to Jos metropolis. Today the fulani herdsmen occupy all the communities. I am angry with political leaders and elder statesmen in the Middle belt. They have failed the vulnerable people in the rural areas

istandfortruth:

Correct! It's simply targeted at driving away the host communities out of their homes, it's working in Kaduna, Plateau and now it's working in Benue. The perpetrators want to buy time and look good all through the process

Probable Solutions:
1) The state govt can a private Isreali intelligence firm to investigate...
2) The state govt can develop a modern Land Ownership system (with GIS) ASAP, showing who owns what and the communities it belongs to
3) Bury the dead at the border between Benue and Nassarawa states with a huge Signpost on the road sending a strong message
4) Write to united nations
5) Raise a fund from the international communities and well-meaning Nigerians to sponsor a counter-terrorism squad made of main locals
6) Cry out LOUD and clear.

Its up to our Benue citizens tho

You have summarised it all. I was surprised to see an excerpt from the book twisted create misleading headlines. This latest mischief is by one guy campaigning for Apc Nat publicity Secretary. The mischievous post was trending on twitter yesterday. Unfortunately most Nigerians lack basic reading and comprehension skills

LordAdamX:
Please, if you guys can't read, don't comment on this thread.

She was referring to a normal power play.

This is the summary:

1. She discovered a $6m/yr loophole
2. She and the Minister of Transport implored GEJ to close the loophole as part of port reforms
3. GEJ closed the loophole
4. A GEJ aide who represented the interests of those benefiting from the loophole asked her to tell GEJ to reverse the decision
5. NOI refused and the aide tried to frustrate her
6. The aide eventually stopped when others told him he'd be in soup if NOI reports to GEJ

As to the question of why say so now?

A: The book is titled "Fighting Corruption is Dangerous." It's meant to chronicle all the opposition she received for fighting corruption. Everyone faces issues in their place of work, this is a memoir of the ones she faced.

She's not campaigning for anyone.

PMB's men have fuelled some of this narratives we hear today. The utterances of the police IG and minister of defence about the Benue killings were very biased and provocative.
The difference between the killings in the predominantly Muslim North East and the Christian Middle belt is this:
-Thousands were displaced by Boko Haram but they have a hope of return one day. Born Gov recently commissioned some houses built by UN agencies for displaced residents.
- In the middle belt it is a land grab. Even while in IDP camps the lands and farms of the indigenous inhabitants are taken over by herdsmen. The fulani herdsmen are an army of occupation in the middle belt.

Honestly these guys are desperate. See how they managed to deceive the gullible

senchris:
Op, this headline is misleading and only shows your desperation to either be on the front page or to tarnish Goodluck's image. An earlier thread gives a more detailed information concerning NOI's book lunch and where she told how she got an approval from Goodluck to block $6m annual revenue from the ports that was not remitted to the federal government account. According to her, it is not clear if the theft started during the administration of Goodluck. Besides, she got the approval to block the loophole and had to battle with the highly placed influential aides that benifted from it. It is a pity how you guys keep looking for cheap ways to blame Goodluck even after three years into your abysmally failed admisitration. For heavens sake, the guy has moved on with his life, your Buhari and his own saints should now create the paradise they promised us.

This is pathetic. What 5 years are you talking about? She discovered the fraud 2nd month in office. By 5 months into their tenure, reforms were implemented that blocked the loophole.

Wealthandjobs:
I agree with her that $6million is consequential(as if every kobo belonging to the government is not consequential) but why didn't she report this issue to the EFCC?
Mrs Okonjo Iweala was hands in glove with all the corrupt elements of GEJ's tenure and it's so sad that her memoir is just confirming what PMB has repeatedly told Nigerians.
The case should be revisited by the EFCC to retrieve the $6million collected for at least 5 years and all the thieves in NPA who were sharing the money be prosecuted.

This is a misleading headline. Iweala stated they situation met on ground. They went ahead to implement reforms that blocked the loophole. Of course corrupt interest will fight back. The fact that its from the presidency is not strange. What do we say of Buhari’s former SGF Babachir Lawal? In this case I hear he is even spearheading Buhari’s re-election. He was also nominated to Apc convention Committee.

Do you reside in the North Central? I do not see Buhari winning Plateau. He will get less votes in Plateau than he did in 2015. The sentiments on ground have changed

agabusta:

Buhari will win the following states in the NC

Nassarawa
Niger
Kwara
Plateau
FCT

In the SW, he'll win:

Osun
Oyo
Ogun
Ondo
Lagos
and Ekiti (if APC wins the coming gubernatorial election)

Excluding Ekiti if APC loses the election.

In the SS, Buhari will win Edo.

In the North East and North West, he'll clear it all.

In the SE, he will not win any state.
