I don't know what to make of Gov Ortom and the APC Benue reps at the national assembly. They are irredeemable sycophants.
The Benue reps were the most vocal in supporting Buhari during the rowdy session over the aircraft purchase saga.

cheesy They want to pull resources together so as to sponsor the only SAINT and only man with INTEGRITY in the whole of this country.

How they succeeded in deceiving Nigerians that buhari is the only man that is not corrupt still remains a mystery to me

Why are you trying to change the goal post? What sources? Everything I wrote is in public domain

(1) You said the Benue state should arm a vigilante group to defend the people. I told you one has been set up by the Benue gov but the army and police has arrested it members. The police has also commenced mop up of firearms used by Rivers state vigilante (neighborhood watch) set up by Wike.
https://www.blueprint.ng/army-arrests-9-militia-men-linked-to-benue-govt/
http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/benue-killings-arrest-militia-members-pre-planned-military-aliyu-tershaku-coordinator-livestock-guards/
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/03/police-order-nationwide-mop-illegal-arms-1/

(2) Go and read the firearms act (1990). There is no provision for individual license to bear guns such as AK47. The president can issue a proclamation at any time to mop up both licensed and unlicensed firearms. Go and study the law
You have seen the level of carnage in Benue, how do you expect a vigilante armed with light weapons to repel the herdsmen attacks?
A deadly militant group has killed over 100 persons in less than a week and you are advocating for a vigilante to confront them?

Your support for PMB should not rob you of objective reasoning. A true patriot is one that owes loyalty to his country not to an individual, ideology or political party.
I would no longer respond to you.

obailala:
So in essence, there no such thing as owning a 'licensed' firearm in Nigeria?... Every individual who isnt a member of an armed force must dispose their firearms?....

Last time I checked, it was illegal to own an unlicensed firearm in Nigeria but if yours is licensed, then you are fine. The recent story I heard was of the IG ordering a nationwide mop up of illegal/unlicensed firearms. Except you are saying the constitution has been changed recently, else, your claim is incorrect. Go back and check your sources again.
Politics / Re: Gunmen Invade Idps Camp In Benue, Kill 7 by enlady(f): 4:14pm On Apr 27, 2018
Yes they are illegal. The concept of armed vigilante is alien to our constitution. Any vigilante that bears arm is illegal. I have given you instance that the Benue livestock guards were disarmed by the army.
The Benue issue is already heavily publicised. The herdsmen are bent on open grazing in the Benue Valley. Any attempt by Benue state govt to arm a vigilante will be resisted by the armed forces.

obailala:
So in essence, are you saying all vigilantes bearing pump action and other types of non-automatic weapons around the country are illegal?

Im not understanding your point..Vigilantes are vigilantes and police is police; why are you mixing the two?
Politics / Re: Gunmen Invade Idps Camp In Benue, Kill 7 by enlady(f): 12:34pm On Apr 27, 2018
You are just trying hard to exonerate Buhari.
No governor or state house of assembly can promulgate a law empowering a vigilante to carry arms. The courts will throw it out.
The constitution is very clear. Section 214 (1) of the Constitution says:
"There shall be a police force for Nigeria, which shall be known as the Nigeria Police Force, and subject to the provisions of this section no other police force shall be established for the Federation or any part thereof.
The livestock guards earlier equipped by Gov Ortom was also backed by sections of the anti open grazing bill of enacted by the Benue HOA. But the military arrested and disarmed them in January 2018 when these attacks heightened.
Any bill passed by a state HOA contravening the constitution stands illegal.
Until we amend the constitution to allow state police, the buck stops at Buhari's table.
In this Benue instance, PMB has been irresponsible and a complete failure!

obailala:
Vigilantes may not be allowed to wield automatic assault rifles like AK47s, but there's no law stopping the state government (with the backing of the state HOA) from setting up and arming state vigilantes with guns line pump action rifles. If they are arrested and the governor pays a visit to the station, not even the IG can prevent the governor from releasing his boys legally. Let's forget all these excuses and ostrish play by the governor, even though we practice a strange federal system, the fact is that we still have a federal system and the governor wields enormous powers.

PMB is bent on radicalizing this sect and plunging us into further chaos. Nigeria is already burning, we will not survive another militant group.
Let men of good reasoning advice the president before it is too late.
Politics / Re: Gunmen Invade Idps Camp In Benue, Kill 7 by enlady(f): 8:49am On Apr 27, 2018
@ the bolded
Our laws do not permit any group to bear arms apart from the armed forces and police. We are all witnesses to how the army hounded and arrested the livestock guards previously set up by Gov Ortom.
Call a spade a spade. We have a commander in chief of the armed forces. The buck stops at his table. He has chosen not act

obailala:
What exactly is stopping the Benue state government from setting up a state-wide armed vigilante group to flush out and expel every Fulani from Benue?

How can massacres like this keep happening unhindered every other day without a single resistance?... not from the police, not from the military, not from civil defence and not from vigilantes?... not even a single one of the perpetrators arrested or killed, like absolutely zero resisitance?... Even in Taraba, at least we hear of attacks and repisals, but in Benue, it just seems the Benue people are just inanimate objects. This situation lacks logic.

I wouldn't term the obvious blunders by the judiciary "cooperating" with the executive. They have been reduced to executive errand boys. Senator Peter ought to have been granted bail.

lecowas:

Bygone is bygone I think(my opinion). From the latest judgements I observed, the judiciary seems to be cooperating with the executive. Look for instance;
a) senator peter was remanded yesterday when he could be granted bail
b) the case of the election reordering against NASS all favoured Buhari
c) dino melaye's brother and allies have just been remanded
d) the CJN and Buhari are having closed door meetings up & down
e) the clampdown on Justices has been alleviated ( except for the few scapegoat we'll still hear) and lots more
I think the CJN and Buhari may have made a good bargain already(my opinion)

What urgent measures has the president put in place within the last 48 hours to stop the carnage in Benue/Nasarawa? I don't understand.
How can Buhari be gallivanting on political tours and so called "working visit" when genocide is persisting. Over a Hundred persons have been lost in Benue within a few days and he is campaigning in Bauchi?
Jonathan was heavily criticized for political rally a day after Nyanya bombing? But sycophantic Nigerians choose to have selective amnesia now

I have seen enough to conclude this is simply ethnic cleansing. How do you explain the fact that farm lands and communities belonging to IDPs are now occupied by fulani herdsmen? They chase out the indigenous people and turn their communities to grazing areas.
Buhari has shown little to no capacity to address this issues. The killings have escalated since January but he is busy with 2019 elections.

The opposition is just not cut out for the devilish politics APC played pre 2015 elections. It is alleged that Elrufai, Nyako and others wrote series of letters to world leaders urging them not to sell weapons to Jonathan's govt. They contrived lies to blackmail the government. As a result, the past administration had to resort to buying weapons from the black market leading to the infamous Oritsejafor private jet debacle.
Today we are witnessing impunity and executive lawlessness but they have blackmailed the national assembly and critics with so called corruption charges. Everyone is silent

If the American congress and populace are made aware, they would force the American government to halt his trip to the U.S. and start asking relevant questions!!

I see what omenka does. He also mocks Benue people about the killings. Any discerning mind would see he is an imposter.
I don't keep ethnic bigots as friends so I don't view Facebook tribal wars.
I am neither Tiv nor from Benue. The middle belt is home to hundreds of indigenous ethnic groups. I don't see any recognizable leader speaking for all these groups.

Oh please shut up. When omenka was busy moving and laughing at the ipob and Massob victims, where the Bleep were you? Even outside of this forum, on Facebook there were significant number of your people making post to mock igbo during the operation python. Please shut the f up.
Secondly, you shouldn't be blamed on the sins of your father? Tell us why your fathers thought the sins of few Igbo soliders should be blamed on hundreds of men, women and children and even took it up a notch by joining to kill millions when they decided to leave and create their own nation. Even by the looks of it, your people still take pride in your aid during the war visiting the bragging of your leader. I or any other igbo should feel pity for you people. I rather feel pity for isis members. Karma is a bitch. You reap what you sow...it does not care who did the reaping.

As your leader mentioned and bragged, NC contributed more than half a million death to drag igbo into this shithole. Well, Fulanis are helping you contribute more to maintain this "one Nigeria". Please enjoy your Niggeria and Awera and stop complaining

Firstly, the figure quoted in this story is 160 billion naira. Sanusi was a liar. He first claimed 49.6 billion dollars was unremitted by NNPC. Then later he reduced the figure to 20 billion dollars during the national assembly hearing. Subsequently the NASS committee narrowed down some discrepancies to kerosene DPK subsidy issues. The audit by PWC later clarified the kerosene subsidy issues.
