Politics / Re: Kalabari Chiefs: ”amaechi Lied, We Don’t Support Him Against Jonathan”! by enm(m): 6:25pm On Jun 17, 2013
Abagworo:

Amaechi has no direct issues with the President. Patience met with Kalabari leaders and they decided to retract their earlier support for Amaechi. Notice the Ijaw suffix added in that publication and understand the dimension it is heading. It is fight for supremacy of tribe and Kalabaris just threw caution to the wind by adding Ijaw suffix to their name and claiming kinship to Bayelsa to swell their population. We'll soon see Okrika-Ijaw and Ibani-Ijaw. What will it be like when we start seeing things like Ikwerre-Igbo, Etche-Igbo, Ogba-Igbo, Ekpeye-Igbo who will also claim kinship to 5 Igbo States? Won't it sound stupid?

Please where you there when patience met with the kalabari people and broker a deal with them to withdraw their earlier support for ameachi abi them tell you?

The kalabari people have come out to the whole world that it was the governor who invited them and they honour the invitation thinking that he the governor want to discuss with them matters that concerned them and they gave us summary account of what happened when the met the governor, so the onus is now on the governor and his aides to come out to the world and refute this claim or allegation made against them by the kalabari chief.

Politics / Re: Tinubu Embarrassed In Dubai For Associating With Buhari by enm(m): 6:05pm On Jun 17, 2013
Walking away was not the best option to take. Believe me, that was a perfect opportunity to showcased his maturity in handling of criticism. Walking away shows that he take and bear no nonsense and what do you expect of such a man if found himself where jonathan is sitting now.

Matured person would diplomatically put Smart in his place by reminding him that, they are in a wedding and as so it is occasion for celebration and joy but promising to to provide the answer to his question when the wedding is over, thereby steering the party back.

To me walking away was a wrong move and generate a lot more question.

---------------------------------------------------------
But seriously what is tinubu and el rufah doing in the wedding where a lot of pdp members were in attendance. A wedding organized by one of the fuel subsidy member.

now we don't appreciate this man called Gen but I tell you when he leave office either 2015 or 2019 then we will start saying there was once a president who meanth well for this country but we are to in haste to let him discharged his duty properly.

All it takes is just a little encouragment from everyone of us by commending when due for it, criticized when due but constructively because of what use is your criticism when you do not proffer or point out how things should be done, and always watching and monitoring those charge with responsibility as it regard this nation.

Am not saying Gej is clean but as far as concerned is far better than some of the so called people with integrity and capability to solve this nigerian problems . so come 2015 my vote will go to Gej if GOD permit him to contest that is if no better opponent is presented.

Not long ago he said to fight corruption we need to change our attitude but a lot of people criticized him even the so called enlightened and all knowing among us, but to be frank that is the truth nothing but the truth. Of what use is creating an agency to fight corruption, creating laws when our attitude is nothing to write home about. it is not enough to open our mouth to outer out words against corruption or pen them down for other to read when our real attitude is different from what is coming out of our mouth or what we pen down.

It is our behavior which emanate from habit that give rise to attitude. so when we have bad habits how can we have good behavior that will give rise to good attitude that will go a long way in transforming the country to a great height. In the top hierarchy of the nigerian police are people of bad attitude to their duty and also are people of good attitude to service who will not be in position to effect change due to federal character and padi padi and cover my nyash disease.

Now the president has come out that he need people with the right attitude to duty to be position so as to make the police a better organization and now it is now left for okiro and his fellow members to bring to play the right attitude in discharging their duty and for us to make sure they did because whether you like it or not the president can not be everywhere at all time and all knowing even with his various source of information.

So let try and be good citizens with the right attitude to things.

For God's sake what type of morons are our universities turning out? We turn out grsduates that cannot connect history. For God's sake who first killed the BH leader in cold blood? All you fools kept quiet and never bothered to do as little as discuss it simply because you think it is the problem of the North. The same thing happened in Plateau state when our womderful press covered only one side of the story and never cared abt what happened to the other side whose people were also being murdered in cold blood until the whole thing went haywire. You may like what is happening, you may like the temporary peace that will come out of this exercise; you may not care what happens to the Hausa-fulanis (afterall they are muslims) but i bet you, this injustice may signal an end to the rxistence of this country. Meanehile, there is supposed to be a plan for amnesty for which a committee has been constituted; what is bothering us is how this committee is going to function in the face of all these bombardments by the military. We should not forget that just recently, the military shut down a section of Platrau state looking for armed Fulani herdsmen: has there been any change? Let us learn from what transpired bw the Beroms and the Fulanis, who, after fighting for so long with each side suffering severe casualties, finally agreed to dialogue and give peace a chance. The area is relatively calm today. We must pursue amnesty for these guys, not only to who they are and why they have taken up arms agaist the state, but also to use it as an opportunity to apologise for our wrong. However, those who suffered losses as a result of this avoidable insurgency must be properly and adequately compensated. This is the only way we can learn from the ills of the past which will serve as catalyst for dealing with similar cases of injustice like the Odi and Zaki Biam massacres. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

My friend, in as much that it is a pity that we are in this sorry state, i totally disagree with you on your opinion quoted above.

Take time out to find out their demand, the type of people they are and their mindset and come back to tell us what you discover?

What a shame !

Pls tell me how mend is comparable to boko haram? many innocent soul or civilian have they killed when they want to operate they always indicate where and when they will attack giving enough time to avoid collateral damage and note they are not faceless unlike boko haram

And the wife he disrespected and humiliated no be member of his family?

Your wife, the woman you took to the alter, the woman you swore to honor cherish and protect, the man you promised to love for better for worse in sickness and in health comes first before anybody and you don't trash her like rubbish in front of anybody no matter what.

Well, not expecting much from these crude, crass and unsophisticated village men anyway..

I no know I go take talk am make you understand me. since 2011 the wife and the aide/brother set do running battle for the house say the aide/brother dey arranged babe for him brother.

Shey you wan tell me say, the three of them never trash the matter among themselves, I believe say other family members including the wife own go don put mouth for the case.

Shey you wan tell me say when the woman go meet her brother inlaw /husband aide, " she just say bros abi my husband I hear say you dey arrange babe for my husband? " I don't think so because the brother waaka go report the case give him bros wey be the woman husband because the woman go don show him pepper and being the responsible and gentleman that he is he went to table the matter before his bros.

For the husband to do that to his wife ( I believe its too harsh a treatment) the wife must have said and done things that is not expected of a reasonable human being and I believe the man did what he did out of anger and frustration.

You see most women in such position do things that you yourself won't do. let me gist you a true story. a woman is a wife to one of aig of police in this country while driving had a collision with another vehicle and according to everybody she was at fault. Inside the car she was driving was one of her husband aide or orderly. instead of her to accept her mistake and resolve the issue peacefully she started to assault the other driver and threatening to arrest him and when her husband orderly tried to make her see reason she started to land slap not once or twice and insulting the orderly. Now if you are that woman husband how will you feel.

As i stated earlier that we did not got the full gist of what happened because the press are not interested in reporting all part of a story unless it will yield to more sales or traffic but from the little I deduce from the report their must have been verbal warning before the over celebrated event took place

Wetin the man do be say, being a deputy governor does not mean his wife must disrespect his family member which is the woman is one and am sure that the man will not take it kindly if his family members should disrespect his wife.

In other word the Koko of the mata or decision be say, yes you are my beloved wife, the mother of my beloved and precious children but don't disrespect my family.

Someone is not paying due attention to his or her duty if not answer this question

Why and how did the head pull off from the rest of the coach?

This can only happen due to mechanical fault, improper handling of the train and lack of proper supervision by the technicians in charge or sabotage.
Politics / Re: Tragedy Averted As Train Derails In Lagos by enm(m): 9:56am On May 31, 2013
Sorry to say this and forgive me if you find it offensive but I have no choice "most nigerian are dumb and lack the ability to think, how? you want to know? check the nairalander comment on this thread and you will find how dumb we are ".

If you like insult me back, no problem i will accept it and take it as my reward in trying to steer the ship on to the right part.

Why am i like this? it because am angry and frustrated with most of us here and myself for not being able to do anything. This is supposed to be a forum where issues are discuss and deliberated on by people of informed mind if not well informed but have the ability to analysis and point out errors in report and contribute sensibly so that people can have the right information or knowledge.

If the driver was over speeding that train won't be standing side way ( check the pix) and we wouldn't be reading no life was lost. And it happened closed to a major road crossing.

if there was a gap on the track then this wouldn't have happen now, it would have happen before now. that is if they don't care about their life.

If the rail were defective do you think the authority would open their two eyes down and allow a train to be plying on a defective rail? even if they do, do you think the workers would allow that not forgeting the fact that trains move on that track more than twice a day.

I have been to the site and saw everything. It would be wrong to say the driver was over speeding because one, the point of derail is not far from where it stop. in fact it's not up to 100 meter. What happened is someone failed to do his or her job in locking the track to prevent thing like this and it happened very close to a major road crossing, but trust nigerian workers to shift blame to the other person instead of accepting responsibility.

So what is the aim of this my epistle? try to gain more insight before commenting on topic let us not take everything being dish to us hook line and sinker. Me I have loose hope on nigeria media long time ago. they are all out to make money.

praise and admonition should be given when due and in this case praise must be given to the fashola led acn government in lagos state.

It is a wonderful initiative to reduce cost of running the government as this will cut down on the cost of electricity bill accrued by the state government but my prayer is that money saved should be channel into something productive that is of immense benefit to lagosians.

But the OP should know that this sort of mini power plant is very common here in lagos (that is where am living). It is the in thing now for company in lagos to have this in their premises as it save them money in the sense that running and powering a power plant with diesel non stop is more expensive than gas and don't forget the crazy bill from phcn.

In fact where I work at ikeja we are totally independent of phcn because we have our own mini power plant power by gas and you won't believe it if I say the man who commission it four years ago was no one other than fashola.

I agree that fashola should by praise here for a job well done in saving money or cutting down cost of powering this government building and facilities that consumed high electricy wattage (pls correct my spelling if am wrong) but please don't misinform some of us novice here that this project will power 20 street which mean plus all the government building and facilities it will also power all the house on this 20 street .

Please don't be offended am just trying to set thing right here by making sure proper and accurate information is given.

@yeboyes, your post were very informative and the same time entertaining, but am not in agreement on putting the whole blame on president jonathan and his croonies for the situation which we currently find ourselves as a nation. jonathan government is not perfect but it will be injustice to say he is not trying his best though his best may not be what we yearn for.

Mixing with a lot of people from different ethnicity, religion and background across the nation have taught me that we the follower are the architect of the nation problem. if you are not a good follower how can you be a good leader? how many of us in truth and conscience devoid of any personal gain discharge his or her responsibility towards the nation, you talk of corruption, tell me how you intend to tackle it in a situation where the organ responsible in tackling this disease and make sure offender are brought to book go about submitting insufficient or lack of evidence before a competent court of law.

Until we developed a positive attitude towards our neighbors that's when we will start moving forward as a nation. so stop blaming the leader but the followers. don't forget the leader was once a follower and will one day return to be a follower

@everyone including those who have made it their hobby and daily job to to never see the good side of the Gej led government i have this to say to you "what so ever one sow so shall he or she reap" if we allowed ourselves to be use willingly and un willingly then I say as a nation we must not cry or curse as a result of what comes our way.

Once upon a time i campaign for jonathan to be president as a result of his attitude during the yaradua saga but due to circumstances beyond one control i was unable to register and cast my one precious vote, but along the line i began to doubt and question my decision to support jonathan presidency as a result of the negative feedback one was receiving here on this forum, the print and electronic media and some if not majority of the supposed educated and intelligent personality who has large followership. If not for my little understanding of history and politic and a little bit of human behavior i would have turn against him and join in cursing the Gej led government. traveling outside lagos my base to delta the benin ore road made me to start asking question from those who said Gej is not working. I left my point of origin iyanapaja after 7 in the morning and got to ughelli after 2 despite spending more than one hour on the road due to break down of bus I was traveling in, of recent I travel on that road again and i stand boldly claim that things were not as it used to be but the road still need improvement.

For some time now the news of Gej led government achievement has been on the news now circulating everywhere, even the president even came out on national broadcast to list completed, on going project even stating the amount spent so far but to my dismay i have never seen, read or heard on news that this claim by the Gej government is FALSE . The press in pursuit of profit forget the ethics of their industry which make up their core value deciding to be a willing tool in the hand of the opposition misleading the populace by not giving a balance report back with fact.

Me i have decided to view, study and question any report whether by the government, the opposition and the press. Give commendation when necessary and a lash on the back side too if need be. If everyone of us can practice this believe the sky won't be the limit but beyond it.

So sad that these happen and painful to read but also more sorrowful that these type of incident may not be the last in the north because unlike us down here the people ( majority of them ) see nothing wrong in the activities of the boko haram and those who among them who held a different opinion are too afraid to voice out for fear of their life. Believe me this is not a matter that amnesty can solve or building of infrastructure and other amenities that aids increase in the quality of life.

I have live and school in the north and I know what am posting. Until they are ready to accept that this nigeria belong to every tribe and religion that make up this nation, until the youth stop taking and believing every bullshit being dole out to them by their leader and elder and beginning to ask question, demand answer and do what is right then and then things like boko haram will have no place in their society but all hope is not lost because there still some who think and act different and one day they will be in control.

My brothers and sisters this is a battle that is deeply rooted in ideology.
