Travel / Re: Canada Spouse Open Work Permit (sowp)timeline by EnnyOneda: 2:07pm On Jul 27, 2021
Hello everyone, I received this email from IRCC in response to my request for travel authorization on the 02nd of July. For those with approved TRV and you've applied for TA and still no response, this can be of help. Family reunification in 'my opinion' is essential and that's what I mentioned at the point of exit (MMIA) and at the point of entry(Immigration officers @ Toronto). Just have all the required documents and commit to God's hands for favour. Wish everyone the very best.

Good day,

Please be advised that temporary foreign workers are exempt from travel restrictions and do not require written authorization from the Government of Canada to travel to Canada by air or land if they’re coming for an essential (non-discretionary) purpose. Each province may have additional restrictions, please check the(ir) website before travelling.
The final decision on admission to Canada is made by Border Services Officers at Canadian ports of entry. In order to be admitted into Canada, and in addition to meeting all the usual entry requirements, foreign nationals must satisfy the examining officer that their entry to Canada is for a non-discretionary purpose.
Many non-essential businesses in Canada are closed or are operating with limited staff. If you have a job with a specific employer, check that the job you’ve been hired for is still available. If you have, or been approved for, an open work permit and you don’t have a job secured before coming, you should delay your travel.
Keep up-to-date with COVID-19-related changes by visiting the IRCC website and the ESDC website.

Plan ahead before booking travel to Canada
There are some pre-entry testing, arrival testing and quarantine requirements that (unless you are exempt) require your action before making your travel plans:
Pre-entry and arrival testing requirements:
·       Flying to Canada: COVID-19 testing for travellers
·       Driving to Canada: COVID-19 testing for travellers

Quarantine requirements:
·       Easing of quarantine rules for fully vaccinated travellers
·       Mandatory quarantine or isolation (unless you are exempt or are fully vaccinated)

o   Mandatory hotel stopover for those travelling by air who are not fully vaccinated (unless you are exempt)

You must provide your travel and contact information, proof of COVID-19 vaccination documents, quarantine plan, COVID-19 symptom self-assessment, and confirmed reservation at a government-authorized accommodation (for air travellers only, unless fully vaccinated or exempt) electronically via ArriveCAN within 72 hours before arrival to Canada. You must show the receipt of submission to a Canadian border services officer before you’ll be allowed to enter.

Requirements are changing quickly. Remember to check ArriveCAN or consult information required when entering Canada by air or land for details on the information you need to submit before travelling.

Sincerely,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

Hello everyone. I am a newbie on nairaland and so hardly post, but read a lot. I am a JANUARY 2020 applicant and after 17months of waiting, I received my approval in June. Arrived Toronto today. Will share my timeline and experience once I have settled in. This is just to encourage us, that God never forgets, He will come through and you will testify.
Thank you all for the wonderful information posted here which helped at one point or the other.
