Vince McMahon triggered a bunch of calls to the NYPD after he appeared to get arrested Monday night on “Monday Night Raw.”

Cops began fielding calls after some really bad acting, where Vince stepped in to protect his daughter from some rent-a-cops. Things got heated at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Vince got aggressive and the cops hooked him up and read him his Miranda rights.

It seemed real enough for viewers to call police … presumably to either express their displeasure or lobby to have the book thrown at him.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has described Manchester United's handling of the proposed David de Gea transfer as a "disgrace".

Perez felt the main reason the deal to take the Spain international goalkeeper to the Bernabeu collapsed was because of a lack of experience on the part of United chief executive Ed Woodward, something he says has been an issue on previous transfers too.

The clubs agreed a £29.5m deal for De Gea on the final day of the summer transfer window but it broke down at the last minute after the relevant documentation was received in Spain 28 minutes after the deadline.

That sequence of events led to both clubs to issue statements and in United's, they said they offered Real Madrid the chance to make an appeal - but Perez has doubts about their intentions.

"They said that just to get in good (with the supporters). It is just to say we offered them that but Real Madrid rejected it," he said.
"But the paperwork arrived later. It was out of time. We sent to La Liga anyway, we spoke with the president and with a chief from UEFA but we saw it was impossible. Their offer (to try to help us to get the deal done) was from someone without experience.

"I think they didn't have bad intentions. I think they just lacked experience. It already happened to us (two seasons ago) with Fabio Coentrao and also happened to Athletic Bilbao with Ander Herrera (the summer before the Spanish midfielder made the move when David Moyes was in charge).

"When this happens more than once and you see that all the operations that, according to the media, they have tried to do during the summer (which didn't go through), one believes that this happened because it is a new team with no experience."

Perez was also strongly critical of the delays in United submitting the relevant documentation over the transfer and said: "It was a disgrace. I do not want to blame anyone, but we do not understand why they took eight hours to check the contracts or that they didn't open negotiations until 12 hours before the deadline."

And he added: "In half an hour, we agreed everything. We sent them the paperwork at 1.30pm and it took eight hours for them to return it. I do not think they did it with malice.

"They probably would be very busy but one thing that you can do in an hour takes eight (hours) for them. We, Real Madrid and FIFA have proof but we do not want to make it public."

A federal judge ordered a defiant county clerk to jail for contempt Thursday after she insisted that it would violate her conscience to follow court orders to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis and her deputy clerks were summoned to appear before U.S. District Judge David Bunning after she repeatedly denied gay couples marriage licenses, citing her religious beliefs and “God's authority.”

Sequel to the controversies that trailed the demise of Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, since Wednesday, members of Ife Royal Traditional Council (RTC), the umbrella body of all traditional titleholders from Ile Ife, yesterday met Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, behind closed-doors.

The meeting, which was held at Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo lasted for about 10 minutes.

Lowa of Ife, Oba Joseph Ijaodola, led the council to the meeting. The secretary of the body, Chief Adetoye Odewole was also in attendance.

Also in attendance were top officials of Osun State Government that are indigenes of Ile Ife, led by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Babajide Omoworare.

Others are former members of the state House of Assembly, Adetilewa Sijuade, former commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Home Affairs, Mr. Sikiru Ayedun, Special Adviser to the governor on Youth and Sports, Mr. Biyi Odunlade.

There had been insinuations earlier in the day that the chiefs would be visiting the governor to formally break the news of the monarch’s death, but at the first meeting held in the presence of newsmen, Oba Ijaodola, who is next in rank to Oba Sijuade, reiterated their previous stand that Ooni was alive and hale and hearty.

Oba Ijaodola told Governor Aregbesola that they were in his residence to update him about developments around Oba Sijuade and regretted that Ooni was a target of negative publicity with the press declaring him dead several times in the past.

The monarch said: “We were all shocked when we heard the rumour. If at all such an incident had happened, the traditional council would be the first to know and equally break the news to the entire public.

“Sixteen of us are his chiefs and when he was travelling out, he did not look like he was going to die and should that have happened to him, we would have been informed even before anyone would hear about it. We pray that Ooni Sijuade will live long in good health.”

Responding, Aregbesola commended the chiefs for holding forth while Ooni Sijade was away. He then prayed for sound health and long life for Oba Sijuade.

The governor and the chiefs later proceeded to another room within the Governor’s Lodge to hold another meeting.

The chiefs, however, declined comments after meeting with the governor.
