I moved to america with out an education or skill
I got a part time job with ups and at same time was eligible for career choice meaning any school I want to go they will pay
I decided to get my CDL to drive a truck which pays better
After that I I found another job with Amazon full time while I’m still working with ups and hold my CDL and about transitioning to trucking department but when I got to Amazon the feeling was different

I got a whole lot more offers
Like learning how to drive forklift
Learn Amazon robotics
Learn Amazon web services and also got a career choice to choose from list of schools to advance my self and move to the management team if I want to
Currently I’m doing a bsc on cybersecurity
Fully paid for by Amazon
And mind you I’m still with ups part time
I’m planning on leaving ups and move to Amazon full time once I get my schedule changed from Monday to Friday cause my normal schedule are Tuesday to Saturday
I’ve 60hours work week and I earn 23$ an hour In Amazon while I earn 21$ with ups
Why I choose Amazon everything is automated
From picking to stowing
To packing, buffering, sorting etc
But ups is all manual and the management are too hostile but In a I love ups still cause it my first job in the US

Come to Amazon or ups and see cars small boys or 19-23 years drive and you will wonder if it a warehouse job

I’ve meet some nigeria and all of them have their own cars and living on their and doing very well

I’m not downgrading Nigeria but the truth is our leaders are wicked and the worst part their are some evil people who support their wickedness just for selfish and wicked reasons
And yes a cleaner in Amazon is doing so well than a bank manger in Nigeria
Even before I started school and all that I’ve access to benefits in both ups and Amazon but I picked Amazon cause their benefits are top notch
If you’re not a billionaire or a millionaire in Nigeria you can’t even think of having a life insurance
As I’m talking to you I’ve 246,000$ worth of life insurance which I service with just 0.34$ every week to stay updated so when I die my family will have something to fall back on
I got all this as a mere warehouse worker
I’ve not even mentioned other benefits cause you will be shocked

When people come online and talk nonsense Nigeria is better I just laugh
I had that mind set till reality set in and I moved and I thank God I wasn’t late

Here in America you can be a school dropout and still make six figures
No one is bigger than anyone here
If you like drive Lamborghini no one cares

In every country they have their own up and down but you see america, Canada, Australia, uk, New Zealand, Norway,Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy are better but America na the king of all

Do with this little information how ever you deem fit
Those who have eyes let them see
God bless ur hustle bro,im so glad you listened to your heart and jumped on the japa train, to God be the glory, you was not late.

You’re so right. Neither have I. It’s a whole ass mortician degree or mortuary assistant certification required for those jobs but we like to talk about what we don’t know .
You know, Nigerians like to talk big even when they are clearly ignorant, this i why I join conversations like this to shed a wee hope and light to those who have the means so they too don't get left behind.

Abeg this is slave mentality. You have been brainwashed to believe that life in the West is Eldorado. A place like US is Eldorado but the suicide rate there is 10 times that of Nigeria. The number of people who died of violent crimes like mass shooting, Gang violence is 5 times more than people killed by kidnapping, banditry and terrorism. Check facts and confirm. West is far better than Nigeria but choosing a low job like cleaner abroad over bank Manager is Slave Mentality

When I was in Nigeria, I think the manager at my parents' bank's branch earned more than a million or 1.5M naira per month. Unfortunately, I don't have exact figures. I will ask a friend. But assessing the friend who works in one of the top banks in the country, as at 2019, she participated in the bank management trainee programme where she earned 250K+ per month. Stanbic was even paying graduate trainees 350K then (rumoured to be the highest then amongst all banks). So, now, a bank manager shouldn't earn less than 2 million naira per month, I strongly believe.

P.S. Please don't mention the naira to the pounds or dollar as those currencies aren't spent in Nigeria. Bank managers earn in naira and spend in naira.
Im not silly to ref Naira to pounds, I am fortunate to live in both countries and well equip to compare with no prejudice.
Fuel for a week cost average ofN100k in ur gen, cost Average of N100k a month in ur car.you might spend N500k on food in a month ,security might cost N60k,I paid mine N100k for personal reasons.so in NIgeria I can comfortably say to live a middle class life your outgoings might xceed N500K do you agree?

You want to tell a Nigerian madam or oga that their servant deserves a living wage, respect and similar standard of living as them? You must not know us.

Nigerians are very very extremely excessively egotistical people. They want to be lords and masters over anyone around them without actually being qualified to do so.

You can tell by the way they denigrate certain jobs. That’s why they’d rather suffer than do a job they deem to be lowly even if the job solves their financial needs.

That’s why you see them on here thinking they can use “wiping bums” as an insult to CNAs/nurses abroad. As if the sick people in Nigeria are usually left to rot in their own piss and feces. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case since they think it’s an insult to provide dignified care to sick and dying people.

One person on the front page said care giving is worse than cleaning toilet. I imagine it’s the assisting the patient with activities of daily living they consider to be shameful. I’ve never seen this type of behaviour anywhere on the internet before except on Nigerian forums.
you know in Nigeria in the name of bashing japa, some are ignorant ,that's those who have the means, and the others do not have the means so just follow tha bandwagon to hating or being deliberately being ignorant. You know the same old story of washing dead bodies and plates etc? in my 24 years in the Uk I have never ever met a Nigerian who wash dead bodies, cos U will have to be paid very well too.

Stop looking abroad for salvation. Nigerians are always comparing their hard work and sacrifice to that of other nations. I am sure when millions of Nigerians were on the street protesting, you were one of the Nigerians saying that this was not my protest.

Bad governments don't change unless they are forced out. We waited for Buhari to stay in government for eight years when it was evident that he was clueless in the first six months. The same can be said of Tinubu's first day.

The Europeans and Americans fought for good governance and ensured that their governments were held accountable. How many Nigerian communities have called back their non-performing Senator or Representative?
Guy no worry stay 9ja,anyone with the means and refuse to leave or send their kids abroad 2024 like this is unrepentantly ignorant, they lack the up to date reasoning of the current state of Nigeria.

For those of you have not not opportune to travel yet and stuck in Nigeria, you'll not understand or believe what the OP said is true. You see drivers, warehouse, security, caregiver, waitress etc earn more than branch manager of a bank.

I know of two ladies that relocated to UK before Election, they have erect mansion at their home town. They both work 60hrs weekly. These are caregivers. Can a branch bank manager able to build a mansion in one year without stealing from the bank? No!
They dont know
,What I seem to understand is most relatives who don't wanna help always paint a bad situation worse in orther for them not to be asked for money .You will see someone abroad say stuff like there is nowhere like home, he only saying that os he is now comfortable to be home.
