The United Kingdom branch of the ruling All Progressives Congress in a mock tweet on Friday, congratulated PDP’s candidate in the 2018 Osun governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The party also mocked the politician’s nephew and singer, David Adeleke, aka, Davido, saying, “Congrats, @iam_Davido”.

Featuring a video of the politician dancing with a lady, APC said Adeleke won his election petition case at Pakurumo Supreme Court — an uncomplimentary reference to Adeleke’s style of dancing.

Lagos State government said on Sunday it would be closing the popular Oba Akran Avenue in Ikeja to traffic to stage its annual Lagos Street Carnival, on December 3, 2017.
The implication is that from 12:00pm to 12:00am on Sunday, December 3, 2017, the vehicles would be barred from the road and traffic diverted to alternative routes around Ikeja.
Adebimpe Akinsola, special adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Tourism, Arts and Culture, told journalists adequate preparations had been made for alternative routes to mitigate the impact of the road closure on motorists and residents.
The carnival, according to Akinsola, is to mark the beginning of several other events to end the year. It is also designed to celebrate the multi-cultural nature of Lagosians and reposition the state as a formidable cultural destination.
“Several adjoining roads would be closed on the day of the carnival while alternative routes could be accessed by road users. We like to assure Lagosians and visitors that efforts are in place to ensure that the venue and environs are safe and incident-free.
“We expect more visitors this year and a lot more will be coming. In terms of security and crowd control, the ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture is not working alone. We are working with the police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Fire service, LASAMBUS and the Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA). All of them are onboard,’’ Akinsola said.
Giving details about the carnival, Akinsola said, “The Lagos street carnival is to herald the yuletide season. It is to showcase all the diversity of cultures in Lagos State. There is going to be an overflow all through Oba Akran; people dancing, eating, showcasing diverse cultures from different local governments and other estate groups that are resident in Lagos State.”
The line-up of artists to feature in the carnival include Olamide, Lil Kesh, Queen Salawa Abeni, Malaika, Tope Sax, among others.

Ex-militant leader, Asari Dokubo has called on Igbos living in the North to defend themselves in case of an attack.
This is following the call for Igbos to leave the North by the Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY)

The ex-militant said all Igbos have the right to defend themselves if attacked.

Dokubo said “My brothers and Sisters, fellow Biafrans, our struggle is for independence. Let me say this to Biafran People, our struggle is not to take from any other people. We have not travelled to the North, Lagos, Ibadan to take from any other people.

“They are the ones who have been taken from us. In our entire struggle for the actualization of the Independent State of Biafra, we have not invaded other people’s land. We have always reacted strength to strength.
