I cant believe a number of people read the post and could not make a sensible meaning out of it

Metuh simply suggests that APC does not represent islam
afterall Islam is described as a religion of peace
Just as Muslims say that Boko haram does not represent Islam

He then suggests that APC is a religious extremist party

All marriages are a kind of cage
just the way your skin is a a kind of cage were your soul is locked in
and indeed this earth is a cage... I'd like to visit different planets, but can't

but just as you are able to mold your body to align with your soul
so you are able to mold your marriage (to a large extent) to align with your pursuits

I do not know your situation, so my advise might not be accurate
- u cld get your husband to drop u and the kids abroad while he lives in Nigeria
- U cld encourage ur husband to teach his congregation that they need not refer to his wife when assessing spirituality etc

"Enemies"

umh,...that is an extremely strong word

Immediately you label someone an enemy, you psychological whip up 3 options.
Yes, 4 options indeed ...na so bible maths be

1) Avoid
2) Attack
3) defend against
4) Convert to a friend

Now lets see.....
-Our collective Nigerian enemy is the devil and winches
-the enemies of the Nigerian East is the Nigerian West
-the enemies of the Muslim North is the Infidels (mainly the "Niyamiris")
- the enemies of the Niger Deltans is the rest of Nigeria who want their oyel, but don't like their presidency
-The enemy of PDP and its e-rats is APC and its e-rats

There is a saying that we should keep our friends close, and our enemies closer
Let's make do with our present category of enemies that are closest to us.

catchdwind4rmkd: CAN SOMEONE PLS HELP ME ON HOW TO CREATE A "DROP DOWN LIST" ON EXCEL?

By this I meant having a cell with an arrow which you can click and see a drop down of some list of items from which you can choose from.

ALSO, I'LL NEED A HELP ON HOW TO CREATE A CELL THAT CONTAINS A CONDITIONAL STATEMENT FOR WHICH YOU CAN GET ANY OF 3 COLOURS AND A SUM FUNCTION.

BYthis I meant having a cell for say a yearly certification requirement such that if the certificate is still valid the cell will display GREEN and the expected expiry date; if the certificate will expire in a month's time, the cell will displace YELLOW and the expiry date; and if the certificate has expired, the cell will display RED and the expiry date. This will enable a planner plan to recertify an item before it expires.

I'll be glad to get a HELP from the team here.

Here we go again embarassed

Is the boy the president of Nigeria?

AJ,
I think Kuntash -'s advice can be unwittingly viewed as two pronged.

From the stance of the first view, you've rightly advocated that that is a government
and not individual's responsibility to devolp a sustainable environment
..however, we know the nigerian government is not that sensible

so in such a circumstance, we could infer the 2nd view:
i.e., that Kuntash is suggesting that
if the innovator wants to succeed and make some livelihood (from innovation)
within the harsh Nigerian environment s/he should concentrate
on innovations that are within our local comprehension and adoption

..for example solar powered phones, solar powered pure water, solar powered bibles and Korans e.t.c

usually maps like this helps you understand cultural groupings and how to act on them

For example Hofstede's charts
<http://geert-hofstede.com/nigeria.html>
makes you understand that compared to Nigerians,
a British big man is more likely to ride in the same car
and seat as a poor man -power distance

We are more likely to look out
for one another than the british person -Individualism

However we all have looked at this map/chart
and are surprised that the HBR of Africa came up with it

Also for the sake of argument

if God exists in opposite. I.e love and wrath etc
then arguing using Paul's style, I could say that whereas the opposite of reward is punishment
the opposite of eternal life is death eternal

Read that scripture thoroughly and you will see that its not about some tower of Babel person.

Isaiah 14
How are you fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn. You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven,...

..sounds more like the aspirations of the tower of Babel to me. From the earth they built upwards and were then dispersed. It might not be the case sha.

Compare to Ezekiel 28: 15
You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. 15"You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you. 16"By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of ...

..Now this sounds more like Satan. Note there is a direct reference to cherub here, I also noticed that folks dont often use the Ezekiel verse. Many probably haven't seen this

Isaiah 14;12

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Does the above scripture help in explaining?

Considering that we are generelly challenging a number of assumptions

From what period in time did it come to be taken that this scripture referred to the devil?
Other passages in Isiah seem to be allegories of kingdoms and kings of that time.

Why the romantization that that "son of the morning" was referring to Satan?
Who says for example that it was not nimrod or some leader who sought to build the tower of Babel to reach unto the heavens?

Revelation 20.

10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
The Great White Throne Judgment

11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[c] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[d] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Mark 9;43
43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched.

Looking at these scriptures again
it does leave some question marks

Whereas it explicitly suggests that the devil, beast and false prophet
will be tormented forever in the lake

However, it does not suggest the same for humans
in fact if you peer closely at the verses,
it could also suggest that after humans have
faced the torment/formlessness of hell/death

those not found in the required books, and death and hades
will be obliterated by the fiery lake -the 2nd death

Now back to God

Let's assume that he thinks up a world/universal system and its rules and creates it
it could have been something else,
but it so happens that it was this one that was established

he then created beings with different level of consciousness to partake in the world
we are then governed by the rules of the game
and stir our avatars towards different goals

^^
lets stretch my previous thinking further

In the comic book example, we've assumed only one agent -the author
now let's assume that the author develops a video game for this comic
and we can all take up different avatars for the comic and play in this game.
We are however limited by the governing rules of the comic world

So in the comic world, we do have free will,
which is affected by the choice of others
and the principles of the game
Religion / Re: The Other Side Of God. (christians Make Your Contributions So That We Can Learn) by esere826: 11:01am On Jul 06, 2014
ok

let us assume that man and God share some common xteristics
the purpose of such assumption is to help us try to conceive the working of God

The xteristics I am concerned with here is
multiple scenario thinking (AKA imagination), and decisive action (or choice)

If I want to create a fictional mythical/super hero type comic book episode
I would have to think through it.
i then develop characters
and governing principles under which the characters will operate in

my characters could have 5 heads.
It wont be strange to the inhabitants of my comic world
laws in my comic world could include that when the characters perform a certain action twice
then they evaporate

Once i have published my first comic
all other editions will have to work with my underlying logic for consistency

..for example, batman is stuck in Gotham city

1. Was Judgment/wrath part of God's original nature before the fall of lucifer or did he develop this nature when lucifer failed?

let's add some more questions

do angels also have freewill?
if they do, does this not mean that in the course of time
whether on earth or in heaven
Angels could still rebel??

There should be more to the map
probably as a tool for expatriates

For example, it could mean that to be successful when you do business in Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda
feel free to give bribes instead of flaunting your portfolio of innovations
And no need to rock the boat by trying to stop people from calling u ogakpata
Just ensure that you provide locations in your office for everyone to practice their religion

so what/who is the father?

Now this one and the SPIRIT are the concepts
i've not been able to conviniently conceptualize

I vaguely feel that the FATHER concept stradles between the All God and the Word
probaly an expression that captures and embodies the sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham
and thus establishes a unique father and son convenant between God and christ/man

So what is the WORD? ....cntd

ASSERTION 2:
The WORD is the defined attribute of God that puts things into context

Now lets go to John's gospel.
He starts by saying "In the beginning was the word,
and the word was with God, and the word was God

Utilizing my ASSERIONs 1 and 2, this is what I see:
there was always God -the all and timeless
however, there was a point that the All God characterised himself by the WORD
this is what is decribed as the begining

So the Word was indeed with God and was God. The same was in the beginging with God
Religion / Re: An Attempt To Coceptualize and Differentiate betwee God, The Father And The Word by esere826: 10:06am On Jul 03, 2014
So what is the WORD?

I'll give another imperfect anology using Nairaland
In the world of Nairaland, there is some someone out there that
is an unknown, undescribed entity. He has never logged on to Nairaland

The first knowledge/ ascription of the person is when the person clicks on NL
we can then describe the person as 1 guest viewing

The person goes further to register on NL and dorns a moniker
the person is no longer a guest, but is now recognisable by a name

As the person writes, we begin to see a pattern/characteristics of the person
With further contributions from the moniker, we can better describe the persons xteristics
Religion / Re: An Attempt To Coceptualize and Differentiate betwee God, The Father And The Word by esere826: 9:52am On Jul 03, 2014
What is God, who is the being? ....cntd

The anti-xtian leaning Aethist might even point out
that the old testament is replete of stories of God induced genocides
and that a God who is described as loving is ever so willing
to fling infedels and criminals alike into a furnace that burns forever
A judgement that even the most strictest of judicial systems
would cringe at doing

Such genocides lying side by side with declaration of love
is even described by some Aethists as schizophrenic

The devil worshiper, acknowledges that
there is a rebel spirit being that he'd like to connect to

All of this when viewed detachedly by a God believer
seems to suggest that my ASSERTION 1 has some credence
Religion / Re: An Attempt To Coceptualize and Differentiate betwee God, The Father And The Word by esere826: 9:51am On Jul 03, 2014
What is God, who is the being? ....cntd

Within this concept of God, every human ultimately connects
or seeks to connect to him.

The guy who worships a tree, seeks to connect to a a part of this God concept
probaly the part of seasonal renewal.

The Aethist armed with science, dismisses him as being non-existent
but goes ahead to trace the source of all material-being to a big bang.
Withing the science circle it is acknowledged that this big bang comes from nothing
Religion / Re: An Attempt To Coceptualize and Differentiate betwee God, The Father And The Word by esere826: 9:39am On Jul 03, 2014
What is God, who is the being?

I'll call the being 'him' to simplify my language.

Let's start our exploration by using an example of fire/flame
(even if its not too accurate) to try to conceptualise this being

Fire has a number of properties
it provides light, it can warm and it can burn, it can melt gold etc

However, our perception of fire is many times what we harness it to perform.

ASSERTION 1:
God likewise is everything and yet nothing
in this being there is male, female, variety of beings, good, evil,
begining, end, planets, universes, finite and infinite, time and timelessnes
