Programming / What Is The Most Sought After Programming Language? by eSOT: 3:35pm On Feb 17, 2011
Java![/size]

And here is my statistics.

Java as a programming language as demonstrated consistency over the years and coupled with a wide acceptability amongst developers throughout the world, Java remains a language to reckon with. Little wonder major applications, organization and websites around the world adopt the use of Java and its related technologies.

Java is everywhere! Blackberry is java based. Credit Cards are java; TiVo is java and Gmail uses Java. Google supports Java. Java is Universal.

“Based on search engine chatter on programming languages from Google, Yahoo and MSN search engines Java ranked first as the most talked about programming language.”
- Tiobe.com

“In a survey of jobs that required programming skills, employers that require Java programming skills ranked the highest.”
- Dice.com (International Job site)

“A survey of the most used programming language used by the developers ranked Java first”
- EvansData.com

“In a survey of 10 programming languages you should learn right now. Java was by far number one.”
- eWeek.com

“Loads and runs over the www – 40 million potential clients.”

Here are more reasons on Why Java?

 Similar to C++ so it is familiar to commercial programmers
 Does not include the nasty dangerous parts of C++ so it is safe
 Extensive run-time type information and safe dynamic link-loading is available
 Includes string and multi-thread support in the language
 Automatic memory management
 Data type sizes and arithmetic behavior are fixed and fully defined for all platforms
 Has useful standard OO libraries
 Documentation can be extracted from the source code
 Security checking is built in to the libraries and virtual machine
 Supports Unicode for ease of internationalization
 Write once, run anywhere, any platform
 Vast amount of supplier and programmer support and acceptance. It is unkillable.

Some Java Quotes by some experts.

“We wanted to be in control of the application and have low support costs, so we opted for browser and a thin client,  We chose Java because it enabled us to provide a high level of functionality at the front end and a high level of security.”
Charlie Herbert, NatWest Retail Banking Services

“Because Java applets are downloaded on the fly, new products, or enhancements to old ones can be made available much more quickly than we are used to. Java is rapidly becoming an important technology for us.”
Dave Weller, Development Manager, Reuters

“Java changes the speed and cost of what we can develop. Java makes it a richer experience and we can easily respond to increases in the complexity of services. That is the power of Java.”
Ken Blakeslee, Director of Business Development for Wireless Terminals Ltd, Nortel.

“Employers nowadays are increasingly placing an emphasis on newer, object-oriented languages and tools such as Java. Java is an Object Oriented Programming Language.”

It should be quite easy for him to add the libraries. Just follow the steps here

In the the Project Side Bar

After this just import as usual
Programming / Re: How Does A Rookie Java/j2ee Programmer Get A Job? by eSOT: 10:44am On Feb 14, 2011
Sincerely, I suggest you take that exam because as it is you are already half way there. I used to be in your shoes I even read Chemistry Education in school but today, I can hold my own against any developer though in the meantime you can keep studying and try taking a job as an instructor it will help keep your memory and knowledge fresh and challenged.
