Fear you say.... Tomorrow I bet you'll open a topic complaining about having all the symptoms of Covid-19 and still being unable to be tested.... I know your type already.
Like I said earlier, nobody is comfortable sitting at home.... But for a safe opening of the economy, there should be a wide spread testing mechanism available to everyone... At least 80 to 90 percent of people that wants a test should be able to get one.
When Trump was shouting about reopening the US economy, New York Governor contradicted him... Why? Because he has seen the worst of it in his state and saw the casualties.... So he doesn't want to be in a hurry to open the economy of New York if measures for mass testing and quick isolations are not in place.
Why do you think lock down is not sustainable here in Nigeria or Africa? Because of the lie we told ourselves that the virus doesn't affect black people? Or for the fact that most of us are just ignorant? careless? don't listen to basic instructions? Or what exactly?
As far as I'm concerned, there is no cure for Covid-19 through any herbal medicine.... So touting Madagascar as an ideal case study for Nigeria to follow doesn't really carry water. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-52374250
There have been two drugs that has undergone human trials and have failed..... The first was hydroxychloroquine and then remdesivir (a drug used for HIV treatment), both hasn't lived up to expectations.
Other drugs are still being looked at.... Until then, Madagascar's so called treatment is nothing but a farce. .. can you see how you were so proud mentioning the drugs that were introduced by the whites your second God and very quick to dismiss the idea of testing or using natural herbs to seek solution to this demon virus! God has given us enough but a pity we didn't value it. 1 Like |

kponkedenge: I saw some people celebrating the lock down which will end next week.... I really don't know if most of you guys think at all.
Yes, we all want the lock down to end, but not at the expense of an outbreak waiting to happen.
Before the lock down, we had around 27 cases or so.... So how come we went from 27 to over 1300 during 4 weeks of the lock down.... Do you people even ask yourselves that question?
For people that don't have cars, how will they go to work now because Danfo drivers will never think of safety first, their number one priority is making money... So they'll keep packing you all together....not minding your safety.
We want to copy Ghana by relaxing restrictions, but we are forgetting that Ghana has conducted over 100k tests while we've only managed 10k.
This virus will eventually spread and the second outbreak will be worse than the first we currently have now.
There are a lot of asymptomatic carriers that don't even know they have the virus, so not testing enough people and rushing to open up the economy spells doom.
UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab said that they don't want to rush and open the economy too quickly to avoid a second wave that might be worse than the first and eventually make them lock down the economy for the second time and make people have lack of trust in the handling of the epidemic.
Nigeria saw Ghana opening and want to do follow follow.
This is a very very stupid decision in my part... And it is an accident waiting to happen. .. all these your fear, Madagascar wey dey your back yard don conquer it. You dey Nigeria dey copy UK. Madagascar wey be good example for our answers to this virus, you no talk anything. I don't know why we are all like this in this country! I have seen a lot of people bashing the easing of the Lockdown and someone just praised El rufai for his 30 days extension and I keep wondering how people really think. Lockdown is not sustainable here in this part of the globe! All we need is really a solution like the case of Madagascar! I believe we have all it takes to solve this virus issue using our nature given herbs. We have them a lot. You people will simply be advocating for our government to give people that knows about the herbs thingy a chance to profer solution and when they fail, we know they have been given chance to do so and if they succeed, we will all rejoice. We can't always depend on the white people for everything! Who knows God/Allah/Oluwa wants to elevate Africa using what HE has given us as herbs to give solution to the world but it's a pity our copy copy mentality will never allow such to work. For people bashing the president on easing the Lockdown, I believe it will be better to Chanel that strength to telling the people in power to allow our local herbs treat some patients let's see how it goes or better still, get that particular leave Madagascar used as I believe we also have it here! 3 Likes 1 Share |

Liliantalks: lol ESAN?? Please leave that girl alone ! Forget about her alone , u hv her family to contend with, even benin people don’t like getting married to ESAN people, they only marry themselves most times. Family people fit worry ur children!! Like I said b4 they hv very deep minds and extremely sensitive, an Edo person can hold grudges for you for something very little , never tell you but carry you Waka .
There was an Esan girl that had issues with one Yoruba girl in my hostel n the girl fell sick for more than two tweeks , n babe had to go n beg her , she had to urinate in her hands for her to get better ,, Strange , but it happened. It’s not even a new thing there , u hv to be extremely careful with them.
They see their female children as a source to upliftment so if u marry their daughter n u neglect them , they will hold serious grudges against you , that’s why a entire family can gather funds for a female child to go to Italy and do prostitution.
I won’t advise you to marry an Edo girl , love isn’t enough. .. OMG I'm really getting scared. This girl in question is very nice but I don't know if she's making that up to woo me then bring out her colors afterwards |

Fweezy: Take my advice as someone who has been there and done that. Don't do this because u will regret it later. A part of u already knows this but u came here just to re-enforce that thought. I wish I could tell you my story here or to u directly in person. Try and look for Edo men around and ask them candidly looking them straight in the eye what they think about Edo girls and if they would marry one. There and thence the truth will be revealed. They mostly have an entitlement personality and will be discussing your personal issues and secrets with their family members right in front of u cos they know u don't hear their tongue. I would hate for u to come back here and tell us ur story if regret when their true nature is revealed after marriage. They get violent and confrontational over little incidents and always issueing threats diabolical demos. They like to prey on weak and innocent mean like u who they can bend to their will because they believe u love them too much to become stupid and tolerate their excesses. U hardly see them marry tough men like their fellow Edo men who will deal ruthlessly with them when they misbehave. I can go on and on but let me stop here. Tell her to go and marry her own people. It's better that way. .. OMG., All these things you just mentioned are my fears |

Don't listen to people telling you that marriage is just between you and your wife.
That's a big fat lie here in Nigeria and Africa at large cos when you marry it's essentially a fusion of two families!
My advise to you would be to consider it if she was raised in Lagos and her parents are enlightened, on the other hand if she grew up in Edo State you better run as fast as your legs can carry you.
If you decide to proceed just be very prepared for the clash of cultures you will encounter as time goes on .. seems you have got some experience 1 Like |

Romance / Re: Anambra Wants To Marry Edo by essentialson: 9:13am On Apr 21, 2020 |
daddytime: My dear brother, let's do away with those stereotypes that have done more harm to us than good as a people.
There's something I took away from Abba Kyari's passing, and that is, we the supposed youths of today are a far cry from the youths of our father's generation and this explains why they can boldly say we aren't prepared for leadership, and the reason why they are still able to call the shots even with their walking sticks. That statement isn't a slight on us but a fact.
It is evident how the people ruling us today are the same people and clique at the helms of affairs from the days of our fathers down to this age of our own children. Do you know how they succeeded in this regard? They forged alliances/friendships, marriages et al that defied tribes, borders, States of origin, languages, and religions.
If in doubt, go read up on the many eulogies in honor of Abba Kyari coming in from every part of the country.
Until we the present generation begin to see beyond ipob, arewa, afonja and whatever by coming together to see ourselves as a people with a common goal which is to build a country of our dreams as stakeholders, we'll continue getting lorded over by our forefathers and a handful of the youths who know this secret of forging fronts and alignments beyond the borders of ethnicity, tribe, language or religion.
Enough of the digression. Now to your question.
Is it lost on you that most of the Anambrians actually migrated from the great Benin empire?
If in doubt, go look up literatures and ask the older folks in your villages.
That aside, I am an Edo man ( Esan) precisely, and in my family, we have always inter-married with the Igbos. All the Igbo women married into my family speak my language even better than I do and you won't believe they were Igbos.
To further buttress my point above, did you know that the now deceased strong man of Edo and Nigerian politics Anthony Anenih a.k.a Mr. Fix it was married to an Anambrian who was the former Minister of women affairs? Did you also know that the ever stylish Stella Oduah was married to an Edo man? These are just a few examples.
Make your way down to Edo and see both ethnicities getting lost in inter-marriages without more than the usual or expected rift in any marriage.
In conclusion, my guy, if you find happiness in that girl, wife her and live your life damning any stereotypes or seeking validation from people who do not know any better.
Peace bro, and good luck in your choices. .. wow bro, thanks very much indeed for your time in writing this. This girl also is Esan girl., I would like to know more about Esan people if you don't mind |
