My dear peeps, I just want to drop this simple line on positivity as we move to Deutschland. Its the solemn words for diligence: "A good mindset will make you understand the importance of your work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do; If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” Happy Holiday & Sallah greetings to you all. One Love!!! 6 Likes |

My dear people, I just collected the visa from the Embassy today. Happy to have met Vivian (she said she knows Eke personally, I mean personally; @Eke she fyn wella, you for tell us na #winks ). Happy to also meet Ann (She too make sense, but that one na private matter.) and many Nairaland guests that do read this thread. For now, I am still packing my bags, enjoying the Nigerian breeze and eating enough nkwobi, isi-ewu, afang soup and banga soup, coupled with palm wine, so that I no go miss am too much when I reach Deutscheland. #Timi Dakolo's song "Wish Me Well" activated. 14 Likes |

phempet: @Femi, my advise to you would be the same as the one given to me by the Zees, hopefuls, and Obiwans: PUSH from both sides and ensure not to sound desperate. "both sides" implies 1. the foreigner office in the city where your school is located. 2. The visa officer in Lagos that sent you the mail to fund your account. 2 Likes |

My dear people, I don relax finish. Its time to move forward. @XTIANmaha, I did my insurance this morning @ Industrial and General Insurance located at 94 Broad Street, Marina Opp. Skye Bank and Wema bank. Just hold your international passport and your 14,500 naira; I had my interview on the 11th of August, I funded before my interview, got the DB alert the same day of the interview, but I couldn't access my mail until after I had left the embassy, sent my confirmation same day and got the approval on the 9th of Sept. I hope this helps. 5 Likes |

Zeeblamj01: My dear people, From each alphabet stroke of the keyboard you type in words of good advice on this platform contributes immensely to someone somewhere reading this thread either from a phone, tab or PC. Sometimes its a question, a suggestion, a slight joke that puts a good smile on someone else's face, you never can tell the reach of this forum. Whether as guests, members or just passer-bys, many people have learnt positive things that has led to great successes in their lives from this forum; in today's world of information, you never can get enough of it. Well, most of you are already familiar with my requests and worries to meet with the enrolment deadline of the school and the various advise and suggestions, that was given, Well, I pushed from both sides without trying to sound desperate and it paid off. Testimonies of visa approvals is a trend on this forum and I am happy to be part of it! My joy knew no bounds when I checked my mail by 1:40pm today and saw the main attached document from the Lagos Consulate to come with my travel insurance. The Zees, the Ekes, the twinkles, the Obiwans, in fact, EVERYONE !!!!!!! and I mean EVERYONE!!!! I highly appreciate you all. In fact, I believe and know that from this forum, our education in Dutchland will produce great captains of industries, influential diplomats, world renowned professionals and great experts. I know there are some people still expecting their visa approvals, well, the wait might make you anxious, but, don't just wait, pray, and keep your self informed of trends and things happenings and ensure you ASK questions !!!!!, [a man that asks questions cannot miss his way] "For now let me cool off with Timi Dakolo's music: Wish Me Well!!!" I will comment later. One love and thank you all. 20 Likes 1 Share |

Zeeblamj01: Yeah. I do have the correct emails and numbers. In-fact, the message I got this morning from the foreigners office made me laugh in German. The Auslander said they were still expecting a document from the embassy here in Nigeria "can u imagine?". I had to send a mail to the embassy here, but no response yet. When I called their line, one babe just dey yarn me say make I patience saying it takes 6-8 weeks to process visa! For crying out loud, my enrolment deadline is 30th of this month. 6-8 weeks gets me towards the end of the month or first week of October. I just want to avoid last minute rush. Guys see me ooo. My fellow Nigerians going to Germany by August/September 2015, I hail una oooo. If I say this thread is not insightful and great, menh, I dey f-up be that. Well, this Sperrkonto has really been an issue on this forum and i want to share my experience with First Bank of Nigeria PLC (no strings attached). I went there on Friday last week to carry out the block account transaction. Although I was sending 7200 euros instead of the 8040 euros because, my cousin is paying the balance for me over there. I was given the Form A to complete which I did with high hopes, submitted other documents : A letter to debit my account, Intl Passport datapage, Admission letter, Deutsche Bank letter with account details, plus the usual Form A. I went home feeling fly that the transaction was a piece meal and that by Tuesday (today), I will get a credit alert from DB about my transaction. Funny as it may sound, a whole first bank headquarters at Marina, is still asking me to provide a letter from the school stating that the money is for my up keep? Can u imagine?. I was least expecting such from a head office. Where the hell will I get such letter from? more over, it is a requirement from the German Embassy and not a requirement from the school. So, i smiled and told the lady not to touch any dime from my account until she receives further instruction from me. Well, after some time, I came on-line to read some of the posts of my people on nairaland. and my vex don reduce small for FBN PLC. Now, I chose to go the Fidelity, GTB or the Union Bank way but, I need to get details of the EXACT documents required abeg. ( no be wen I reach there, them go tell me say make i go bring another letter from my "Grand papa wey don die since". So guys, I need your inputs on this, biko nu, Ejo o, Thanks. |

Hello to the house and excellent evening to you all, I am currently preparing for my visa interview, on the 11th of August, and I would like some tips from those that just concluded their visa interviews recently. I know learning German is a must even if one is doing a 100% English program. But, for the purposes of the visa interview alone, Does the VO place much on language ish? |
