My mum's application got approved today. Wanted to share the timeline to encourage someone.

Docs submitted were, 6 months bank statement of hubby, I and our joint account.
Invitation letter, we stated that we were sponsoring her and she was coming to see her grandkids.
My Birth certificate.
I and hubby's pr cards.
Letter from her employer stating that she has 2 month leave starting January 20th.
Flight itinerary.
The application was simple and straight to the point, she has no travel history too.

Application was submitted Nov 4th. Biometrics request was same day.
Biometrics was done Nov 12th.
Jan 13th, we got request letter for host source of income and we sent that of I and hubby. We didn't include it initially cos hubby felt our account statement was enough.
Jan 17th, acknowledgment of receipt of sources of income and correspondence letter 2 hours later.
Jan 18th, PPR.

Congrats!!! My parents too just got a request letter for host source of income even though it was stated that my parents will be responsible for all their expenses including feeding. Please what documents did you submit as proof of host income as I'm currently working in Nigeria though my family are in Canada but wifey isn't working yet as she just put to bed. I initially was thinking of bank statements but you submitted that at first and were still asked for proof of host income which means it's a different thing they wanted.

Dinachi, inasmuch as I agree with you, please do not insult people as it doesn't speak well of you since you claim to believe in the Bible. Just as you're advocating that wives should submit to their husbands unconditionally, you too should be nice and not use insulting words whether you were insulted or not. Besides, you can't make them see what you're saying by abusing people, that only makes people resist you

Even the so called men of God and the deeply religious argue over mundane issues. Read your bible very well, even Peter and Paul had different opinions over some issues. Does that mean that they did not have the Holy Spirit in them?

But there are grey areas in the bible. What the wife might see as a sin, the husband might not, vice versa.

The Bible isn't vague, we just need a level of spiritual understanding to get some things and thank God we have the Holy Spirit as well as anointed men that preach the word of God.

Being submissive doesn't mean you become a fool, submission should be within the context of the Bible which is the final authority.

What if you husbands wants you to commit an act contrary to the word of God, would you still go ahead in the name of submissiveness?

A born again husband would not want his wife to commit an act contrary to God's word because he would not allow his body to rule over him.

The op didn't put it the way the Bishop said it. He admonished men to love their wives as Christ loved the Church and gave himself for the Church while women should submit to their husbands as the head of the house. Only under these conditions will marriage work. If a man truly loves his wife, he will give up whatever would not make his wife happy including cheating.
