I wonder the level of mentality of some individual, yet they wish to represent the people.

It's obvious that people did not come out to vote in this re run election, it was strictly party membership voting. So can he claim Labour party membership is more than PDP membership in his constituency? Abeg that guy should go and sleep and think of what to do next with his life.

Collinstj07:
During time past, Edo was caged in oppression, slavery, and torment by some group of people so called "the lions and tigers of Edo".

Edo was plagued with insecurity, has indigenes feared for their lives. Land grabbing was the order of the day in the State.

And now, with the emergence of a man, who has waged war on these person's who claimed to have the people of Edo tamed have been tamed. The man, our amiable and hard working Governor Godwin Obaseki has been working round the radar to bring freedom and to deliver the true dividends of democracy to his people.

And now, they want to take to us back to the dark ages, where thuggery, theft, slavery, was the order of the day. Should the opposition takes over the state house, their agenda will be achieved and thus, impeachment of governor will be eminent.

The Edolites are wise, intellectuals who will sustain the dividends enjoyed under the Governor Obaseki led PDP administration.

So therefore, let's us defend our freedom. Our fundamental rights has a citizen to leave in peace and harmony. To enjoy true governance, and sustainable development.

Let's vote for the party that has worked and still working to deliver the agenda of the government under Governor Godwin Obaseki, the umbrella party PDP.

Governor Obaseki has truly tried for the people of Edo state if we allow these undemocratic people to take charge of this state. We will fall back to our old days of pains and agony in the state

APC ideology is rooted in corruption. It took Our Governor to step on toes to liberate the Edo people from the operation and oppression of Lions and tigers that were backed by Godfather Oshomole. Never Again for oshomole, lions, and tigers In Edo State

Once upon a time, there came a "spiteful change" in the Annals of Our Political History where Our Dear Constituents in Edo State Voted for their Respective Legislators but some unrepentant renegades who chose to be *SELF CENTRED AND GREEDY TO A DEFAULT* blatantly abandoned their respective constituencies, blindly followed their Iyamho godfather and political Puff Daddy, and refused to be Sworn into Edo House Assembly as a result.

Now, they want to resuffice in form of HUNGRY LIONS & TIGERS who have only come to steal, kill and destroy which will never work because Edo People can never go back to their vomit by supporting the stooges of Oshiomhole and Tinubu who should not be allowed to come back.

That is why we all should *VOTE PDP* Across Board and ensure that Affliction does jot arise the Second time because the Days of Slapping and beating Innocent Edo People is OVER.

MY PEOPLE MAKE WE REMEMBER SAY EDO NOR BE LAGOS OR IMO STATE OOOO, SO LET'S VOTE AGAINST THE LIOMS AND TIGERS OF APC TO SAVE EDO FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL HER CITIZENRY

Politics / Re: Obaseki’s Public Service Reforms by evbosa(m): 4:09am On Mar 09, 2023
Franklinadaz:
It would take a mission of breathtaking ambition to find a governor that is as worker-friendly as Governor Godwin Obaseki in the whole of the federation. As an enlightened collective who make up a significant population of the state, we are aware of diverse interventions by the Obaseki administration which touch on very sensitive areas of our existence; interventions that will linger and still be evident 30 to 50 years from now. Such is the Governor Godwin Obaseki kind of projects, executed without fanfare, pomp or pageantry.

You may compare the Governor to those warlike people whose designs are not known except by the ravaged country through which they have passed. Only that in Governor Obaseki's case, whatever country he passes and whatever innovation his Midas fingers touch, always turn to gold.

Oftentimes we make the mistake of thinking that the grass is greener on the other side, until irreversible reality dawns on us as a result of our wrong choices. The public service in Edo State has become a comfortable work place, a respectable institution, with rights and privileges being enjoyed by civil and public servants, just as it should be.

While we may consider these as our rights and privileges of service to the state (and we would be right to say so), we should however keep in mind that majority of our colleagues in many states of the federation, do not enjoy such privileges, due to maladministration, executive recklessness, profligacy and lack of value and innovation for the public service.

Today, Edo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, pays salaries on or before the 26th of every month to civil and public servants in the state. This has been so for more than 6 years of the Obaseki administration.

In May 2022, Governor Obaseki increased workers' salaries in the state by 33.3 percent, without any prompting. Minimum wage was increase to N40,000. Edo State is the only state to have done so, while many states of the federation are battling with the N30,000 minimum wage.

Governor Obaseki established the Edo Health Insurance Scheme (Edo-HIS) in order to cater for the health needs of workers in the state. Civil and public servants on Edo-HIS only pay 10 percent of total health cost in hospitals.

Promotion of civil and public servants in Edo State is regular. While many states are battling with arrears of promotion, Edo workers have been promoted up to 2021. The 2022 promotion for workers has just been approved by Governor Godwin Obaseki, less than three months into 2023. No other state in the federation has done so.

In terms of workers training and retraining, the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), was established by Governor Obaseki to build capacity in public servants in order to ensure effective and improved service delivery in the state's public service. Such trainings are also equipping workers in the state in achieving their personal and professional goals.

In 2022, over 4,000 young graduates and professionals were recruited by the Obaseki administration into the state’s civil and public service, and over 30 first-class graduate were recruited automatically into the Edo State public service.

The Governor has also granted automatic employment to best graduating students of Edo origin in universities across Nigeria. This is First of its kind in Edo and it is the only state in Nigeria doing this at the moment. All these are geared towards improving service delivery for both the public service and the people in general.

Edo State under Governor Obaseki runs on e-governance in order to enhance the operations of government and cut down on the cost of governance. It is the best e-governance state in Nigeria today. All MDAs are onboarded on the electronic governance platform and it is the only state in the federation to have achieved a hundred percent adoption of e-governance. This has immensely exposed public servants in the state to a digital world and improved their capacities technology-wise.

The Civil Service Secretariat Complex which was once an eyesore has been refurbished, rehabilitated and reconstructed with state-of–the-art facilities that can compete with any in the developed world. Civil servants now work in the best of offices as one can find in developed countries. The dignity of the state’s public service and its pride of place has been restored.

In order to ensure the continuity of these giants strides in public service reforms and workers' welfare, a legislative arm that would support and work in synchrony with the executive and the judicial arms is most required, not one that would turn the state into a battle field and become a source of distraction to the state government's ongoing reforms in the civil and public service.

We therefore call on all civil and public servants in Edo State; the teachers, lawyers, doctors, engineers, from the auxiliary class to the professional class, the executive and administrative classes, to all come out en masse with their family members, both immediate and extended, on Saturday March 11th 2023, to cast their votes for all PDP House of Assembly candidates in Edo State, as solidarity votes for the good work the Governor has done in the life and professional career of civil and public servants in Edo State. And by so doing, we would be inadvertently asking the Governor to do more in other areas of the public service that we may seek improvement.

This is why we ask all public servants to vote for PDP's young and vibrant candidates in the forth coming House of Assembly elections in the state. This is in our best interest as well as the interest of the generality of the people.

Governor Obaseki is a gift from God to the people of Edo state.. It's important we appreciate this good man

The Ugly Days of gangsterism and Agberoism should never be allowed to resuffice in Edo State.

Political godfatherism and thuggery should never be allowed to rear out its head because EDO NOR BE LAGOS OR IMO.

That is why I humbly enjoin the Good People of Edo State to support and VOTE PDP CANDIDTATES across board because APC has another plan of rigging just like they did during the February 25th, 2023 Presidential Elections.

VOICINGOUT:
REJECT APC, EDO MUST REMAIN LIBERATED

In 2020, #EdoNoBeLagos was one of the biggest trends on social media that even the world could not help but notice that something of great significance to the political climate in Nigeria was unfolding in Edo State.

In using a farcical election screening to frustrate Governor Obaseki out of the All Progressives Congress, masterminded by the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, little did they know that by victimizing the governor, they were making him more popular to Edo people.

By the time Obaseki cried out and revealed the reason he was treated unfairly by the APC, Edo people felt challenged and rose to his defence. As we have proven to the world time and time again, no slave master can control us as our independence is non-negotiable. The verdict was clear and final, Edo people rejected Tinubu and reinstalled Obaseki for a second term under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

But like thieves who are relentless in their unholy pursuits, Tinubu has once again proven to Nigerians and the global community his true colours by literally stealing the 2023 presidential election. Now he is ready to consolidate on his stolen laurels by adding Edo to his fiefdom. That is why Edo people must reject him once again and remind him that we are ever ready to protect our liberty and independence.

Come March 11, 2023, we must vote en masse against the All Progressives Congress in the House of Assembly elections. By voting for the governor’s party, the PDP, we will be proving to Tinubu that we are bigger than him and his army of thieves, thugs and election riggers.

A vote for PDP House of Assembly candidates is beyond showing support to the governor or his party; it is a vote for our continued freedom, independence and liberty. Under no condition should we drop our guards and let Tinubu and Oshiomhole enslave us. We must reject Tinubu and the APC by voting strategically lest we inadvertently use our votes to lock ourselves to the shackles of the Jagaban.

You are very right. those that are enemy of democracy and the development of Edo state will surely come with all kind of propaganda, lies and manipulations to distract the good people of Edo state . it will not work for them because Edo people are not fools.

Go to igueben, oredo, Egor, ekenwa, upper sakponba, ovia SW, ovia north east, and some other LGAs this man has absolutely done nothing, not even to construct road or bridges.

The truth that some of Agent of APC cannot hide from the good people of Edo State is that the APC is an enemy of democracy and Nigeria at large.
There is no doubt that Governor Obaseki brought back decency to our state. He became the voice of the voiceless when Agberu was harrassing, beating, and embarrassing people in front of their wives, families, and the public.
Yes, Edo State has been restructured by the government of Obaseki. He has been able to reform the civil service in the state. So many people, especially talented young people, have been empowered with good jobs, free IT training programs, and empowerment programs.
Talking about infrastructure, the governor has been able to build roads that link to our homes, and villages within Benin City are now becoming new cities because of the road network. Now everywhere in the city has a working street light. He gave us a sure above-18-hour light surrounding the city of Benin for us to connect to. He is building and rebranding our government hospital to international standards, reforming our educational standards, paying salaries on time, and so many other things.
In all senses of humor, anyone who speaks badly of this great man for the interest of APC or political favor is a total enemy of the state of Ohio and its people.
We have to reject the Agbero era.
We have to reject oppressors.
We have to reject riggers.
We have to totally reject Tinubu syndrome from EDO state.

It's only those that are enemies of Edo State that are propagating against Gov. Obaseki; most of you are like Lia Mohammed, who lie against what is good and turn it into bad. Edo State can never suffer the mistake we suffered in Nigeria by bringing Buhari and the APC to power.

Only the PDP and Obaseki government can tame APC and their evil plans in Edo state. Vote for all PDP House of Assembly candidates this Saturday, March 11, 2023, so that the Obaseki administration can add to the good works it has already done.
