I see a glaring slight on the "World power" custodians, Putin is a 'no nonsense' man, though he has 100 demons in him but he sure is not a pushover. Lgbtqrivop people just stay out of Russia and Africa, no one needs to be told that these people have a very serious mental malfunction, it's not normal.

At the bolded....that right there...you summed it up.
Even demons operating in a person know when certain acts are wrong...
This man here....i struggle so much with praying for him, however I have to acknowledge his fierce and unapologetic courage to enact this law.

It's not all of black Africa (that's against same-sex agenda) though--only some countries (Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, etc.) that have courageous leaders unafraid to let my country emphatically know that it cannot dictate how they--African presidents-- choose to enact laws (even if they may be harsh).
Strangely enough, I don't hear Naija speaking on the subject at all.

Religion / Re: Who Is Wrong? Pastor Or Memeber?? by Eviana(f): 6:43pm On Jul 23, 2023
Don't know if this is real...

While the family should have been grateful for what they did receive, that extra 500,000 could have actually been a blessing for that particular family. They made have needed it for even more treatments for the mother down the line. Sometimes, people ask for specific things and God surprises and blesses them with that specific thing and even more than expected.

Honestly, the pastor should have either given the family ALL of the offeratory money OR spoken to the church board and let the congregation know that an emergency financial assistance fund is set up for families in dire straits.

That money was for a specific cause.
It should not be used for anything other than helping families.
The pastor could take up an offering for church expenses at another time--when needed.
I believe, in this case, that the pastor was wrong.
Religion / Re: Why Is It Hard For Many Christians To Take A Stand In Righteousness? by Eviana(f): 6:23pm On Jul 23, 2023
I was ready to answer the title of the thread, but saw the post to be a little different.

Quick answer: lack of conversion, peer pressure and the love of "mankind" more than God.

People care (and I mean relentlessly, desperately and deeply care) absolutely MORE about what their fellow man thinks of them than the Creator of all.
People don't want the negative consequences for standing in righteousness. Folks only want the "blesssings".
It's definitely lonely, and isolating to want to sincerely serve the Lord and be obedient to His word against practically a world who despises Him. No one wants to stand out or be ostracized, dogged out, criticized, discriminated against etc.
But if one truly loves the Lord, he/she is compelled to stand for righteousness. It is non-negotiable.

When he/she truly takes that stand, rest assured that levels of persecution/discrimination are around the corner. It will happen. It's easy to claim Christ when one is not experiencing any type of persecution.

Soon enough though, the sheep will be separated from the goats....no one will be able to straddle the fence and claim the Lord yet not have a single evidence of Him in his/her life. Whose side a person is on---be it The Creator God or the enemy of souls--will be revealed soon enough.
It takes absolutely nothing less than a heart totally "sold out" to Christ---no matter what--even till death-- to take a stand for righteousness.

The people you described above have not been fully convicted or converted yet. By God's grace and a willing heart to see the error of their own ways, some will re-commit to Christ.
There's a huge difference between a person who's daily striving to live righteously and who may fall at times....than a person claiming Christ but who deliberately lives a life--actions-- diametrically opposed to Him and His word.

I see he loves his wife dearly and deeply....but he's said some extremely concerning and disturbing things...concerning his wife.
It's extremely easy to make an "idol" out of anything or anyone, (thereby slipping into idolatry) and sometimes we do not even know that we did.

We always need to prayerfully end our prayers with, "Thy will be done...."
Religion / Re: Who Should Be More Spiritual, The Man Or The Woman? by Eviana(f): 7:18pm On Jul 16, 2023
ThompsonJoo:
Who should be more spiritual, the man or the woman?

I think you may mean who is given more responsibilty in nurturing a Godly family. While both the man and the woman are to have strong, individual and personal relationships with the Lord Jesus--it is extremely clear-- that the Lord expects a Godly man (notice I said "Godly"wink to lead his family in the fear and admonition of Him.
There is no greater decision than one can make other than 1st surrendering to the Lord, than 2. choosing a spouse. It is almost akin to a life or death situation--- if not physically, definitely spiritually.
A "sold-out" to Christ, truly surrendered, humble and prayerful, Godly man would have "0" issue leading a Godly family. The wife more times than not, would have no problem allowing the Godly husband to prayerfully lead, because she would trust in him having a sincere relationship with the Lord. The God ordained husband and God ordained wife are equally surrendered to God (both equally spirtually yoked) and function appropriately in their God ordained roles...

1Cor.11:3, 8-9 (KJV)
3 "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."

8 "For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man."

9 "Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
"

Genesis 2:18-24 (KJV) also details the creation of the man first and then his need for a helper suitable for him.

Genesis 3:1-24 (KJV)---specifically vs 9, details the major responsibility and accountabilty expected first (by the man--from God) when the couple sinned.

Victim Mentality people are already claiming victims in America

Excuse me, but if or when you ever come to the U.S., you will not be looked at as Igbo,Yoruba or Hausa/Fulani or any other tribe.
You will be looked at as "black" first...not African. I am 99 percent sure you WILL be discriminated against, racially profiled and more just because of it. When you have not experienced being a minority in the wealthy nation of the U.S, then you have not the slightest clue...on how race relations exist.
Igbo's have been victims over there in Naija and over here in the U.S. point blank period. They have a right to express that.
That's a fact.
Please be careful of how you choose to say someone is claiming victim, cause it just might be you one day. Then you will have to humble yourself and apologize.
Experience is the best teacher wink

Now respectfully back to the subject at hand; perhaps there was a miscommunication between the event organizers and the hotel management. The Westin is a very nice & pricey hotel chain. Usually, the capacity is stated up front. Hopefully, the Igbo's didn't ignore the capacity limit--if it was stated.
Hopefully, the hotel management actually stated the capacity limit.

Take care

The views I express are solely my own opinion based on what is written in this OP.

She's had the tumor for three years or you guys just found out three years ago? I'm asking cause in three years a tumor can continue growing and growing. Sounds like it may be spreading since she's having difficulty walking and eating unfortunately.

I understand age is an issue, but it looks like surgery "may" be a viable option. Or perhaps she can go on raw food--plant based and fruit ONLY-- diet. The goal is to shrink the tumor down to "0" without having an operation.
Perhaps blend the veggies separately and the fruits separately and have her drink them at appointed times. Specific cancer fighting fruits such as berries-#1 cancer fighter, lemons, oranges, grapefruits, apples, grapes, pineapple etc. , and veggies such as tomatoes, caulflower, brussel sprouts, broccoli, kale, spinach, etc., Fruit smoothie for breakfast, veggie smoothie for lunch and for dinner, perhaps a small spinach salad- with various assorted veggies also and brown rice--for extra fiber.

A tumor can be aggressive, so perhaps healing from the inside through fresh food may help.
Of course prayer is vital in this situation.

Religion / Re: Malice Among Ministers In The Church: What Should Be Done? by Eviana(f): 12:18pm On Jul 09, 2023
LegallyBlunt:
Good day everyone. For a couple of weeks now, there has been issues where I worship.

Mostly between the Pastor and his assistant (presently former assistant). They had a falling out, which escalated to a point where the assistant stopped his duties.

Now, I managed to ask questions about the issue and the Pastor gave his version. I also got to know about the assistant's version
.

However, here's the issue - they're not in speaking terms! Isn't that malice? Isn't that dangerous, and a deviation from what Christians ought to do? Are they not in danger of hell and manipulation from the devil and agents of sin?

What's even more painful is that the church just continues like there's no issue on ground. It's sad, really.

Matthew 18: 15-17 (KJV)
15 "Moreover, if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained a brother

16 "But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established."

17 "And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and publican."

Did you speak with both of them together? Or was it separately? Who are you in relation to the pastor and assistant? Are you a trusted and non-biased person who will prayerfully use Godly wisdm?

Of course, none of us knows exactly what the issue is--
However, it is serious enough for the assistant to leave. I'm sure feelings are at a heightened level and no one wants to humble himself.

This is the body of Christ so it is crucial that the situation gets rectified. This is a situation between the lead representative of Christ' church--the pastor--so if it doesn't get handled, it can affect the entire congregation.

If the situation is handled as stated in Matthew, then perhaps it's wise for a temporary or permanent separation between the two. Part ways in as peaceful a manner as possible. Or perhaps one of the two people, should sit down for a moment. Conflict has to be resolved.
It's hard to make a judgment when we don't know the severity of the issue. However, all involved need humility to deal with it.
Specific, prayerful Godly men should sit down with the two and sort out the problem. If needs be and it is eventually brought to the congregation, it should be done in a wise manner and not to cause the folks to stumble.

Dear sister, let not men decieve you with their words, when they say "it is the Spirit they are praying for to die".
Ask them only one question." Do spirits die? "
Where in the bible did they see such kinds of prayers?

I have some churches near my home here and I hear their prayer points. Many of it are actually directed towards physical human beings and not spirits. These are new generation Pentecostal churches o. No need to mention names.

Imagine prayers like;

"Anyone who said I would not prosper, fall down and die! Fall down and die! Fall down and die!"

How do we explain this in the body of Christ?

I had never experienced that in real life.
I learned it here on Nairaland.
One time, I read it directed towards me--personally-- a few years ago, but I kept reading it on many threads and was puzzled. Cause I know that's not Christ' method.

That's what I mean by things getting twisted by people thinking they're praying against the demonic spirit in the person. As humans, whether Christian or not, we tend to be faulty/imperfect and know that they'd rather want an " enemy" or "perceived enemy" (the person they can actually see and not a spirit that they cannot) to be totally eradicated off of the face of the earth. That, of course, is the flesh speaking, which is so dangerous.

It cannot be explained in the body of Christ, truly using the Word if truly seeking the whole truth.

I continue to pray that Christians (especially Nigerians who sincerely believe in this type of prayer), will go back to the Word, humbly and sincerely seek the Holy Spirit for true understanding.

It's that important.

Porksupplyib,

I didn't want to repeatedly quote all of your posts, however, you beautifully explained everything.

The "die, die, die" prayers, (which I learned about through this site), are what I've now come to know, alledgedly pertaining to the "spirit" working through the person. I thought it was towards the person. However, a large portion of Nigerian christians do not understand the problem of even stating death in that manner--to the spirit operating in the person. Saying that still evokes a wrong emotion in the one directing it towards another (even if one feels justified). Christ did not teach His followers to say that. He told us what to do...as stated in the scriptures that you pointed out.

Religion / Re: Loving Your Enemies and praying for them by Eviana(f): 11:41pm On Jul 04, 2023
Very important topic...
The struggle to both "love and pray" for one's enemies is very serious and real.
Forgetting any wrong-doing in any form done by a person towards another or by two persons against one another (regardless of how things first occurred), sometimes is such a struggle.

Yet we are commanded in the Word of God to do so.
Matthew 6:12 (KJV) "And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors."

Matthew 5:44 (KJV), "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and curse you."

It's not like the "simpler" struggles of forgetting one's phone number-especially if it hadn't been used for a few years and it's not written down anywhere or saved in a phone.
Or forgetting an anniversary, appointment or birthday.

I mean truly forgiving and truly releasing any desire for revenge is nothing short of a miracle given by God to a prayerful heart.
That's what I have now--in some cases-- and I thank the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel for that. Let's be brutally honest though and say that it's tremendously difficult to pray for, let alone love, an evil person--one who loves to see or inflict misery and pain to human beings. That's where a humbled and surrendered heart to God comes in. We must pray daily for that.

Cause see peace (which I daily pray for) is such an awesome and necessary gift for a child of God to possess. One can't have true/genuine peace by being disobedient to God's command.

Forgiveness doesn't always mean reconciliation for some situations.
In others, it may be the case.
If reconcilliation is the end result, it takes time. Nothing can be forced.
Even if one person feels ready to reconcile in a certain way or manner, the other may not at the time.

Things happen for a reason, and if meant to be, will defintely be. I'm coming to learn and experience.

Sorry, I went off on a tangent on your thread. I'm long-winded at times.

But make no mistake dear sister, he is with you as long as you are a Christian, no one can believe jesus is lord without the holy spirit's conviction.

But he will be in you if you submit to him and ask God for his presence. It is written if you earthly father's know what is right to give your child how much more will your heavenly father give the holy spirit to those who ask.

Revelation 1
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹⁴ His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

¹⁵ And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I FELL AT HIS FEET AS DEAD ...

When John saw the glory of Jesus, he was so overwhelmed, he fell as a dead man at his feet.

The anointing is simply the manifestation of the glory of God or the glorious presence of God by the Holy Spirit and God's Word.

Like the apostle John, people fall under the anointing when there is an intense manifestation of God's glorious presence.

The glory of God overwhelms our spirits, no man can stand God's presence without any reaction. Even angels shield their eyes in God's presence.

The glory or manifested presence of God is immeasurable. The more you spend time in God's presence, reading God's WORD, fasting and praying, the more the anointing is increased upon you.

You can be so heavily anointed, anyone you touch will be healed and delivered.

Thank you sincerely for replying me.
I can understand that when dealing with the Creator. Reverencing the Creator God in humble submission and adoration. That was s beautiful depiction by John the Revelator, the former "son of thunder", the disciple whom Jesus loved.

So you are saying (in essence) that the anointing of God can be just as powerful on a pastor truly called by God and that he can pass that onto another person.

Seriously. There are levels of anointing, just as they are levels of electricity.

Different men of God are anointed with different levels of anointing.

Some men of God can be so heavily anointed, just a wave of the hands and people fall like feathers under the power
.

However, holiness is the key to entering heaven o.

You defnitely seem sincere in your love for Christ.
I have read some of your threads that confirm that.
I ask this question sincerely and truly wanting to know, because I have never (in my entire life of Christianity) attended a church--and I've attended many-- where this type of process has occured.

I am 1000 percent sure of my relationship with Christ.
There is 0 percent doubt about it. No one has ever touched hands on me either for me to feel assured of His ownership of my life.

What is the definition of "anointing" as it applies to pastors? Also how do some get it and some don't? I don't understand the different levels. Why do people need to fall down as a result of an anointed person touching them? Where is the biblical example of this?

I am not trying to mock nor be sarcastic.

Religion / Re: How To Activate Your Faith To Get What You Need by Eviana(f): 10:09pm On Jul 02, 2023
The OP, overall, was nicely written, however, I'm a little torn on one aspect of this. Probably the use of the word "activate".

One cannot even become a follower of Christ without having faith. So faith is an extremely important part of Christianity---if not the most important.
The Word tells us that everyone has been given a measure of faith Romans 12:3 (KJV).

I am a huge advocate of the power of having a faith-filled mind-set/lifestyle. I have faith in the Word, faith in my Lord, and pray to exercise faith in my life daily.
However, when we pray in faith, humility and with thanksgiving, we need to always acknowledge the "thy will be done" Father God of the Lord's prayer. The "not my will, but thy will," that Jesus expressed in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Having enormous faith does not always mean that a person will get that exact thing. God is too wise to give us what we think we need--or desire--in the way we want it or at the exact time. So you may be praying by faith and believing for a particular job, however you don't get that job. Will you still have faith? Your faith is in Christ-- not what you want and believe by faith thst He will give it to you. We have to be careful, sometimes, how we understand the concept of or choose to exercise our faith....

What they didn't do was mix in Christianity....
Perhaps they aren't even believers in Christ...which would then make my statement null and void. But if there were some Christians in there celebrating thst, then that would be a major problem. In Christ, one has to let superstition/culture go.

Although I disagree with the whole ceremony and beliefs, I can respect their separation of culture and religion, if they subscribe to a religion.

P.S. I wish Nigerian christians (well even many of the Christians in the U.S. also) would truly pray and seek the Holy Spirit for a true understanding of the Word of God. That is not how the Holy Spirit operates...using one human to "lay hands or knock-out" someone in order for the person to be blessed. The concept of "falling under the anointing," is not biblical.
