Family / Family Welcomes First Daughter Since 1885 - After 138 Years with pictures by expatinmalay: 12:11am On Apr 07, 2023
A woman in Michigan knew what she was getting into when she married her husband, Andrew, 10 years ago.

He told her upfront that his family had not produced a female child since 1885. The Clark family spanned generation after generation with nothing but baby boys.

"I'm like, 'Oh, it's a 50-50 chance every time. What do you mean?' He goes, 'No, legitimately, we have not had a girl in our direct line in over 100 years.'" Carolyn Clark said in an interview with Good Morning America.

That peculiarity did not disuage Carolyn. She and Andrew married and decided to start a family together.

The couple said they experienced a miscarriage in 2021, so when they found out a year later that they were pregnant with another child they were thankful but cautious.

"When we found out we were pregnant, we honestly didn't care if we were having a boy or girl at that point. We just were thankful to be pregnant and just praying for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby," Carolyn said.

As the pregnancy progressed, the Clarks decided to save the baby's sex for a gender reveal. They had their family over and had cookies made so biting into them would reveal a pink or blue icing.

"We kept it a secret to ourselves as well. So I just assumed it was going to be blue in the center of the cookies and it'd be another boy in the lineage," Andrew said. "I was shocked. I think I just stared at the center of that cookie like, it's really pink. So it was a good surprise for us."

Audrey Marie Clark was born on St. Patrick 's Day, breaking the 138-year boy streak in the Clark family.

"We're so happy that she's finally here and once again, that she's healthy and that everything went well with the delivery," Carolyn said.

Crime / US Man Placed On $555,555.55 Bond After Attempting To Rob A Bank Of $5 by expatinmalay: 12:03am On Apr 07, 2023
Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. has set bond at $555,555.55 for a 68-year-old bank robbery suspect who said ‘5 is my lucky number.’

Police say Jimmy Maynard, 68, of Beaumont, is charged with robbing PNC Bank off the Interstate 10 East frontage road in Beaumont at 9 this morning.

JP Collins says Maynard handed a note to the teller, demanding $5 and that they call the police on him. They did, and Maynard waited for officers to arrive.

He's in the Jefferson County Jail on a 2nd Degree Felony Charge of Robbery.

udge Collins says Maynard told police that 5 was lucky number, so the JP set bond at $555,555.55. Judge Collins says even though some may chuckle at the bond, the charge against Maynard is serious.

His unlucky number is 2-20. That's how much time he could face in state prison if a jury convicts Maynard of the robbery charge.

A check of criminal records shows Maynard served 12 years for 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery in the Texas prison system and was released in 2015.

Hi y'all

This is my first boat cruise experience. It was really nice experience for me.

We left Malaysia on a Genting Dream Boat cruise to Singapore and back to Malaysia. It was 3 days cruise and it was a lovely experience.

Nice foods, nice rooms, etc. The boat has a capacity of about 3000 guests with lots of facilities like Cinema hall, party halls, conference centers, casinos, restaurants, games arcade, kids area, etc.

Worthy of note is that there was only 1 black among the crew member, shes from Zimbabwe, the first thing she asked me was if i am from Nigeria and Yoruba tribe. I also observed that lots of Chinese, Singaporeans (esp old and elderly) likes playing betting, casinos, etc

You can get additional information from their website and on wikipedia:

Bukit Bintang is a lively street day and night. The bars come alive in the evenings; street artistes can be found belting out songs for a token and let’s not forget the women of easy virtues there! I won’t forget the shocker I got when I walked into an Egyptian owned bar and saw men and women singing and dancing to P-Square’s songs. With such scenes of openness there, it is sometimes hard to believe that Malaysia has a large Muslim population.

Malaysia is a liberal country coupled with the diversity, that is why you see lots of Europeans and Australians are moving there. Diversity, good economy, good weather are the selling point.

Malaysia is a splendid travel destination. I’ve traveled around Kuala Lumpur a bit. I’ve also been to Selangor. KL is a shopper’s paradise with all the shopping malls dotting Jalang Pudu and Bukit Bintang!

PS: Post more photos, bro!

Sorry, i did not take much pictures. I will create another thread for my trip to Bukit Bintang, port dickson, etc

I recently went to Genting Highlands, it is a town located on a hill in Penang state in Malaysia, it a famous tourist destination in Malaysia with lots of resort centers.

Genting Highlands is known and famous for Casinos and Theme parks. It is a Chinese town. I also visited the popular Strawberry farm on my way to the highland. Another popular highland in Malaysia is Cameron Highlands. You can feed your eyes with few pictures.
