I didn’t just submit that account. I had all the money required for my trip in both my savings and my salary account but I also stated that I had a sponsor and stated what the sponsor was providing towards but I guess there’s nothing I can do. Thank you.

justwise:

I do understand your point regarding those mistakes but I don't think that there is anything you can do about it because it will not change the outcome of the application.

If you have 442 in your account and someone is paying £700 toward your trip then that has reduced the strength of your tie to Nigeria.

Hello Justwise,

Please I need your advice. I got an email with an attachment of my refusal letter from the UK although I’m yet to pickup my passport which is ready for collection (that the new method I guess).

On the refusal slip the ECO stated that I submitted a statement with the balance of 442,000 and did not explain the source which is definitely not true because I followed the advice on this thread and submitted a cover letter which explained in details that the said money in my savings are transferred directly from my salary account into my savings account monthly and my bank statement proves this. This is not the only error that was made there was a part where the eco said I said my mother will be providing £2000 which was a lie as the whole cost of my trip was £1,191 and he himself stated this at the beginning of the letter so how can I say someone will be providing £2000, infact in the same letter he stated the correct amount I said someone will be paying towards my trip (£700)

These errors look like carelessness on the Eco’s part so please can I do something about this (report the error) or should I just let it go and not waste anymore money or time. Please I really need your reply.

Yes walk into the general hospital. There is no big process. If they agreed to sign it for you without going through any test that will be a plus for you.

Thank you.

Please do I just walk into any general hospital with the forms for the medical and radiology report or is there a process. Please it’s urgent. Thanks.

Hi,

Please I’ll appreciate if anyone can shed more light on the following;

1. I work in a micro finance bank and my salary is paid into my account with the bank. Can I submit the SOA from the Microfinance or it has to be from a commercial bank?
2. Can my parent sponsor me even though I work and earn ok? If yes, do I still need to provide my salary account and my Target savings account statement (both with the microfinance bank) totaling about 450k?
3. Can my sponsor deposit the money in my account and state in the sponsorship letter that she deposited the money in my account and also provide her statement which will show the transfer?
4. Is there any point getting a letter of introduction and stamped payslips from my company (since I’ll have to leave the job if my visa is granted).

***For better understanding of my questions I’ll be applying for a “short term visa exceeding 3 months”***

I hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks.

Thank you!

You can still apply with that passport because you have more than 6months validity left on it

Hi,

Please I want to know how long my passport must be valid for before I can apply for a UK student visa.

I plan to apply for the Visa in October, the course I want to go for starts in January 2018 but my passport expires on 31st May 2018. Is the validity of my passport too short or can I go ahead and apply?

Thanks.

In Nigeria or globally?

@infofta
Okay thanks but won't it be a problem for a huge sum to just appear in my account?

infofta:
@ fahila
It will be better for the employer (church) to be your sponsor. The church should state they are the one sponsoring you for the voluntary work.
You are not applying for a study permit, it will not be proper for your mum to be your sponsor.
You can also transfer the money to your account.

@infofta please respond to this.

Alright thanks I'll give it a try, hopefully things go well.
Also is it possible to use my mom's account? I'm 21, I recently finished school so I don't have a "fat account". I just want to take a year off to volunteer now before life starts cos once I start working I might never get the time and opportunity again.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by fahila: 9:40pm On Nov 26, 2016
Exactly what I was thinking until I spoke with them. They explained that they have so many volunteers from different countries and all these countries have different requirements so in order not to mislead people they ask you to find out everything your country requires and they are ready to provide you with whatever you need. I think that's reasonable enough.
staggerlee:

Been following your request concerning your volunteer job opportunity in SA. What I will say is since your church is a big church like you said, I think they should have a protocol office that should handle all your travel documentation, you shouldn't be the one looking for a visa up and down. If they can't give you necessary documents for your application, they should handle it themselves. You are going to work for them for free so they should at least get you your visa. #myopinion

I know few people who tried the same thing and was denied. They later came on visitors visa.
You can try your case might be different.
But make sure the church sends you proper documentation which include, contract of employment stating it's a voluntary work without pay. Your ability to meet living expenses while in the country. In the form of bank statements from you or, and your employer. Registration documents of the employer, and other supporting documents.

Okay thanks, but my problem is that is it allowed for me to do that? Start with a visiting then try to get work, won't that seem suspicious?
What if I'm now denied when I'm already there, isn't it better it's denied here and I inform the church ahead and save my money than make arrangements and I'm denied there and waste rent and ticket money. I understand your reasons but who's to say if I would be denied or not.

@ fehila
A volunteer work visa is also a type of work visa. If you are successful, it will be indicated on the visa that you are a visitor, working for xx Church as a volunteer. It's valid for 1-3 years.
If you are not applying for critical skills, It's hard to get any work related permit from Nigeria.

Okay thanks, cos it seems risky going on a visitors visa then trying to apply from SA, I want to do the right thing.
What's the form for the voluntary permit? And would it be valid for 11months?thanks.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by fahila: 4:15pm On Nov 25, 2016
Oh wow, this is more complicated than I thought.
Is it that I can't get it here or SA is just the best option?
Can I provide my own bank statement to show money for maintenance and not the church? it's a really big church I don't know if they're okay with releasing their bank statement but I know I can get the other documents from them.
Also, I'd like if you can help me with the form number. The one I've seen is DHA-1738 which is for work.
Thank you.

@ fahila
South Africa has temporarily resident visa known as volunteer visitors visa which is valid for up to 3 years. Your church must provide registration documents, 3 months bank statements, CIPRO and your contract or employment letter.
It is difficult now to get any work related visa outside South Africa.
My advice, get a visitors visa for 30 days after you arrive tell the Church to provide you with the above documents and apply inside South Africa. You have a better chance this way.

Hi,
Please I'm going to Cape Town, SA in February 2017 for an 11 month internship with a church, the internship is unpaid so it's more like I'm volunteering but the church calls it an internship anyway. I've gone through several SA visa information sites but I'm confused on which visa category I fall under. Can anyone help with that please? Thanks.
