Please was given a letter of presence from the German university that gave me admission, don't really know what to do with it. However, still waiting for appointment date I applied for since July.... For a visa interview.

It was all this appointment delay that made me forfeit my hard earn admission last year, since no AD given.

Travel / Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by fancyto(m): 3:26pm On Aug 05, 2020
They have been operating since now, what we are fighting for is appointment date and students visa. and they said in the embassy that until international flight begins they wouldn't grant an appointment date nor visa.

I don't understand your post man, how does German schools opening has to do with the German embassy opening, there is no link, its certainly pointing to the direction that time is running out and most students won't meet up, no one knows when the German embassy are opening, no one knows when int'l flight will resume in Nigeria, we just dey sidon dey look, its August yet no hope, what I find amusing is why pin students visa interview on int'l flight resumption?. I know you are trying to be positive, but bring positive news that actually make sense.
I wonder too o

Hello,
Good morning

I have just been granted an Interview date with the german embassy.

After my interview booking, I got married and changed my name. I also made a new passport. I have all change of name documents.
Do you think this will be an issue for me, as i do not have the same exact name and passport number?

Also does anyone have the checklist for a longstay visa for an accompanying spouse?
Have they started given appointment.
Travel / Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by fancyto(m): 3:28pm On Jul 28, 2020
I don't know how true this is, I heard from a source that once your appointment date interval lapses, which is within 4-6 weeks and you get no visa appointment date you should cancel and rebook.
But the big question is will it automatically cancel its self? If it automatically cancel itself and you rebook I think it safe that way.

No, but someone did last week and was told to check back when international flights open.
Is it that it's appointments automatically cancels when you exceeds the 6- 8 weeks without an AD

Hello...
I'll be applying to TU Munich, BSc Management and Technology for the winter 2021 semester.

I have everything in order, but some posts on this thread suggest that I should make a reservation for my Visa Appointment now against next year. Is that true?

The fact that the German consulate's website says that they're fully booked till around this time next year isn't helping either.
Is that what was stated in their website

Kizzygentle:

December is still a win win bro. Bad as e bad December is still OK for all categories to get AD. Embassy wouldn't have a deadline even if it exceeds December. They should give all candidates AD, all we need to do is just to get the letter of presence and extension. Normally if it were on normal basis those in catB would be complaining about getting AD but I guess this would favour all. That's what am actually pointing out.
It would only favour those whose universities permit an extension, some school's enrollment date is October or November and cannot be shifted.
Meaning if they don't get their visa that period, they totally forfeit their admission.
Very painful...

Germany is giving Nigerian students admission when we don't know our faith as regards getting a visa and travelling.
Currently, international flight resumption is on hold and government isn't saying anything yet.

I just spoke with the visa section of the German Consulate in Lagos. They said VISA Application resumption is dependent on international flight resumption. That once the airspace is open, they will open.

Let's keep hope alive. Do not lose hope.

My school shifted their resumption date to November 2 so hopefully by then everything will be normal.
Have you already done the visa interview.
