Politics / My Administration Will Boost Power Supply, Says Buhari. by fatdon2(m): 8:29am On Aug 13, 2015 |
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday promised that his administration would give priority to power supply in Nigeria. He said that steady electricity would launch the country into faster socio- economic development. A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, quoted the President as saying this after the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Ambassador Godknows Igali, briefed him on the ministry’s activities at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Buhari said his administration had already identified the critical problems in Nigeria’s power sector and was taking appropriate actions to address them. The President said that his administration had also prioritised certain measures in its action plan to boost electricity supply in Nigeria. He said, “The problems besetting our power sector are not difficult to identify. Therefore, priorities can be easily set in order to tackle them. “The problems are more with transmission than generation, and we equally need to secure the power infrastructure round the country. We will address all these issues.” Igali told the President that power generation in Nigeria, which was 1,750 MW in 1999, had now peaked at 4,600 MW. He added that gas was available to take generation to 5,500 MW in a short time, but that the country needed to expand its electricity infrastructure to accommodate additional generation. The permanent secretary later told State House correspondents that power distribution remained a challenge, but added that the ministry was working closely with distribution companies to improve the situation. “They must improve on their network; they must improve on the availability of transformers and the supply of meters because Nigerians are tired of estimated billing. We have been working closely with them, tracking them, and sometimes even fining them,” he said. On the Senate’s directive stopping monthly charges, Igali said he had met with the Chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission, Dr. Sam Amadi, to devise measures that could be taken to address the genuine concerns being raised by Nigerians. He said, “We have discussed with the chairman of NERC and these matters are being addressed and very soon, NERC will be attending to what the Senate has said. We will also discuss with the Senate to enlighten them a little bit more on this process, the value chain of the power supply. “Electricity supply is now in the hands of private sector. If it is in the hands of the private sector, then, it means that the private sector people must bring in copious investment into the sector. If they must bring in investment, then it means that they must earn revenue. It is chicken and eggs situation. If the power supply situation must improve, especially at the distribution level, they must provide transformers; they must provide switch gears and they must provide meters.” www.punchng.com/news/my-administration-will-boost-power-supply-says-buhari/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter lalasticlala |

They should STOP all these pictures, press briefing on our dear majek. For God's sake we all know his story unfortunately. Firstly, does he really need the help been given him or is just for something else cos its not just drug addiction that he's got from the stance of what i see&read. Secondly, I question this supposed rehab centre. Cos there's no professionalism, privacy, proper medical etiquette of a rehab centre, etc. Seeing the pictures of the facades of staffs at the rehab centre is laughable. It's a good thing chief ayiri decided to help but i thought he was just going to send majek to a more proper rehab centre abroad where majek would have a well deserving help free of drug, clean teeth, nice hair cut,a proper transformation and months later when we see majek we all would bless God for Grace&Mercy not this rubbish of people visiting him taking pictures. Chief ayiri please take majek away from that place cos its been compromised and majek won't get the deserving help he so needs. Thank you 14 Likes 2 Shares |

He also said two injured persons have been taken to Afolabi Hospital in the area while another injured person was taken to the general hospital. My College Graduation College was a wonderful experience for me, but it started off very bumpy. I had a hard time adjusting my first year of college and I ended up leaving myself in a pretty big hole. I had to dig myself out from a year of not-so-stellar grades to put myself in the best position come graduation. I ended up pulling up my GPA to the point of having the highest graduating GPA of any member of my family (Mom, Dad and brother). Looking back at where I started, this was a big accomplishment for me! It was not only the accomplishment of graduating from college, but it was the accomplishment of overcoming a very dark period, staying strong and persevering! 1 Like |

Religion / Re: I'm Richer Than Bill Gates - Pastor Adeboye by fatdon2(m): 9:26am On Aug 10, 2015 |
Oga adeboye, you are not richer than Bill Gate. You should have said, "my members tithes and that my corrupt friend, Akingbola put together are more than Gates". Wrong preachers and those not called by God celebrates their earthly riches and compare theirselves to non "godly' people. Oga adeboye just shows how insensitive he is to spiritual gifts. Why not say, am richer than Benny Hin or any other men of God? And that men may say you are talking of the riches in Christ Jesus. These kind of confessions are the reasons their members steals in their offices more than pagans 41 Likes 3 Shares |
Religion / I’m Richer Than Bill Gates – Pastor Adeboye. by fatdon2(m): 9:16am On Aug 10, 2015 |
Apparently referring to his spiritual endowment, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that he is richer than one of the world’s richest men, Bill Gates. Teaching the worshippers in the mission during the church’s 63rd Annual Convention on Saturday shortly before the Holy Communion Service on the topic; “Overflowing Cup,” Pastor Adeboye said that if Bill Gates needs shoes, he would have to go to the market to buy them, but that if he should announce that he needs shoes at the Redemption Camp, where the convention took place, the auditorium might not contain the shoes people would donate to him. “I have houses in at least 188 countries of the world, where we have our churches, so I am richer than Bill Gates. Each time I visit these countries, my children would be struggling and saying ‘daddy, come and stay with me.’ “ If I announce here that tomorrow morning, I need a car to travel to the new auditorium, how many cars do you think would be made available to me by you my children? Those of you that do not have a car of your own, very soon, God will give you your own cars. So, I am appealing to you to become an incurable soul winner before you leave this convention ground and your cup will overflow,” he said. The man of God had earlier used the occasion to warn that any of the mission’s provinces with the dirtiest hostels at the camp would not be allowed to attend next year’s convention, and advised that people should tidy up their dormitories. Meanwhile, a total of 104 children, comprising 49 boys and 55 girls, were delivered at the camp ground of the mission as at Saturday, 8th August. The Friday, August 7 Convention/Holy Ghost Service, which attracted millions of people from all over the country, and which caused heavy traffic gridlock along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, witnessed salvation, testimonies, prayers, songs and healing, where the lame walked and the sick got healed. There were also many powerful testimonies during the Friday Holy Ghost service, with a woman testifying of how she was healed of cancer, while another woman, who was barren for 20 years, said God eventually gave her a set of twins through the ministry of Pastor Adeboye. Another lady, who was possessed by a marine spirit, also gave a testimony of how God delivered her and she vomited two keys, which she showed to the congregation as proof. Also testifying, Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, said that he dropped out of school in 1979 and became a motor park tout, but that he is now a holder of a doctorate degree and a worker in RCCG. He said, “Pastor Enoch Adeboye prayed for me concerning my ambition to become governor and it came to pass after many years of my attempt to hold a public office”. In his sermon, Pastor Adeboye assured the congregation that God is sufficient in all ways, adding that God can reverse all the irreversible and solve all their problems if they obey Him. Welcoming the vice president, Professor Osinbajo to the convention on Saturday, Pastor Adeboye stated that he is not just a pastor in the mission, but that the VP is also one of the mission’s ushers, who minister during special occasions. “I don’t know why he was not allowed to officiate during the convention. I hope he would do so during the congress in December. I want you to send our regards to President Muhammadu Buhari and we want him to join us next time,” he added. Daddy Adeboye, as he is fondly called, used the opportunity to urge the worshippers to always pray for the Nigerian Army so that they could help defeat all the enemies of the country. It would be recalled that this year’s convention is tagged, ‘The All Sufficient God’ and ended with thanksgiving service on Sunday August 9 at the mission’s new camp ground situated in Shimawa Area. Dignitaries at this year’s event included, Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom and his wife, Ondo State Governor, Mr. Segun Mimiko, Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi amongst others. http://leadership.ng/news/452905/im-richer-than-bill-gates-pastor-adeboye |
