Popular Nigerian musician, Peter Okoye of P-Square fame has threatened to sue show promoters over the usage of his photo.

For a brief moment, fans of Nigerian music twin sensation Psquare thought the singers were back together when they saw pictures of them together on a flyer for a show in Angola.

The flyer for the show themed “Feast Beach” which showed Peter and his brother Paul dressed in native attires was organised by an Angola events company named PubFourevents.



Peter Okoye,however, took to his Instagram handle today to distance himself from the show which set to hold in Angola on the 26th of May and even threatened to sue organises of the show.

Findings have shown that Paul was the one contracted to perform at the said event as a post on his Instagram handle showed him arriving in Angola some few hours ago.



Alongside a picture of the flyer and that of Paul arriving in Angola, Peter wrote on: “Na Wa o! So they needed my image to sell their show Angola. @pubfoureventos you’ll be hearing from my lawyers soon. #UnaDonFindMyTrouble.”

It will be recalled that the group Psguare went separate ways in September 2017 after several efforts by top entertainers in the music industry to find amicable settlement to the continuous disagreement between the singing duo hit a brick wall.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal office on Friday May 17, 2019, raided and arrested 10 suspected internet scammers at Favour Estate Land Estate, Life Camp, Abuja.

They were arrested following a tip-off by an anonymous source.

The suspects are: Okorokpa Clifford, Ejechi Rukeme Clarence, Omoagbere Nelson, Olamide Agbi, Prosper Williams, Zhenom Moses, Nasiru Saudi Ali, Shakajede Okiemute, Okoro Andrew and Amorighoye Laju Precious.

Some of the items recovered from the suspects were exotic cars, laptops and smart phones.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

The Kebbi State Government on Sunday confirmed one death from six cases of Lassa Fever in the state.

Dr Assad Hassan, Epidemiologist at the state Ministry of Health, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi, that the cases were recorded between February and April.

Hassan told NAN that four of the victims were from Birnin Kebbi; while the remaining two were from Bunza Local Government Area of the state.

“The persons confirmed to be infected with the disease are between 23 to 65 years, and they include four males and two females,’’ he said.

According to him, one of the female patients was the one that died within hours of arrival at the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the blood sample taken from the deceased tested positive to Lassa fever.

“The medical doctor that attended to the deceased was also infected with the fever but has been treated and discharged from hospital,’’ he added.

Hassan further explained that the last confirmed case was on April 27, and refuted reports that two children had died last week as a result of the fever.

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has caused a halt at Ghana Music Awards after his rival and label mate Stonebwoy was announced as the winner for the Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the year.

A brawl erupted between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale camps at the 20th anniversary of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Sunday.

Pandemonium broke out shortly after Stonebwoy was announced the winner of ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’. This is the fifth consecutive time he is winning the award.

Just when Stonebwoy, who was picking up the award for the fifth time, was about to deliver his acceptance speech for the award, Shatta Wale started walking to him on stage.

It’s unclear what Shatta Wale’s intentions were considering the fact that the two, over the years, have hardly seen eye to eye.

There are suggestions that Shatta Wale, who was clearly disappointed after his arch-rival was announced the winner of that category, was walking up to the stage to celebrate with Stonebwoy.

Just as he approached the stage, blows started flying between Stonebwoy’s entourage and Shatta Wale’s team.

Police and security personnel could be seen rushing to stage to prevent the brawl from escalating.

Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on stage during the scuffle as some of his team members try to shield the gun.

The fight disrupted the Awards for almost 30 minutes. Some guests, including actress Jackie Appiah, rushed out of the venue.

Shortly after both camps were separated, Shatta Wale, who had already picked up two awards on the night, posted on Twitter “Don’t play with a lion like that ...He dislikes to smell blood !!!”

When Stonebwoy came on stage to accept his second award for the night, ‘Best Collaboration of the Year’, he apologized for the incident.

“I am really sorry for the incident that happened earlier on and I only had to react out of natural instincts because we all know how premeditative some people can be. We’ve seen on social media the treats and everything so we couldn’t come in unprepared because anything could have happened like you guys saw,” he said.

Stonebwoy added that “I come in peace and I go in peace and I apologise to the whole masses of Ghana that the Awards is going to continue. Thank you very much for supporting my music, for supporting everybody else’s music…by their deeds we have all seen.”

The Police spokesman said the commissioner was familiar with the antics of the fraudsters and decided to play along with him.

The police in Ogun have arrested a 52-year-old man, Tayo Ogunmola, for allegedly attempting to dupe the police commissioner in the state, Bashir Makama.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday briefed journalists in Abeokuta on the development.

He said the arrest of the suspect followed a phone call he made to the commissioner, saying he was an old herbalist and had mistakenly sent a recharge card pin to the telephone number of the police chief.

He, therefore, asked Mr Makama to send the pin back to him.

Mr Oyeyemi said the commissioner was familiar with the antics of the fraudsters and decided to play along with him. He said the police chief at the same time sent men of Intelligence Response Team to technically track and apprehend the suspect.

“At a stage, the suspect, who was not aware that he was being trailed, was presenting himself to the CP as a Deputy Inspector-General of Police who is ready to assist the CP only if he can part with a certain amount of money, not knowing that the person he has been discussing with is a serving Commissioner of Police.”

Mr Oyeyemi said luck ran out on the suspect as he was traced to his hideout in Araromi Phase 2 in Ilogbo area of Ota, in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, where he was promptly arrested.

“On interrogation, he confessed to being a fraudster who had defrauded many unsuspecting members of the public of money running into millions of naira, out of which he built the house he was living in “, Mr Oyeyemi said.

Meanwhile, the state police chief has ordered the monitoring team to properly investigate the suspect with the view of arresting his other accomplices and arraigning them in court.

Kemi Olunloyo has taken to her instagram page to release chats she received in her DM claiming that Salvation Ministries Pastor, David Ibiyiomie has allegedly been frolicking with Yoruba actress, Iyabo Ojo.

She shared the chat below with caption saying:

Zimbabwe is experiencing the worst electricity blackouts since the one that happened in 2016 as a result of a devastating drought, BBC reports.

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) had said there would be blackouts for about 8 hours daily, because of a drop in output at its largest hydro plant and ageing coal-fired generators.

Due to low water levels and poor coal supplies to the generating plants, the country is currently producing 969 MW daily against peak demand of 2,100 MW.

A petrol tanker has crashed into a Lexus Jeep in Anambra state, causing serious commotion in the area.

Three persons on Sunday sustained severe injuries when a fully laden petrol tanker lost control and crashed into a Lexus Jeep before falling into a nearby valley at Amawbia, Awka in Anambra, NAN reports.
The News Agency of Nigeria correspondent, who was at the scene of the crash, reports that two of the injured persons were occupants of a Lexus Jeep while the third was the tanker driver.
NAN reports that men of the Anambra Fire Service were battling to ensure that the spilled contents of the tanker did not burst into flames.
Mr Andrew Kumapayi, Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety (FRSC) Anambra, who was at the scene of the incident, told reporters that the head of the tanker detached from the container and fell into a deep valley beside Udoka Estate.
Kumapayi said the wounded had been rushed to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital for treatment by FRSC rescue team who arrived almost immediately.
He said the vehicles involved were the petrol tanker and a Lexus jeep all on the Enugu bound lane of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.
The sector commander blamed the incident on over speeding.
Kumapayi, who expressed worry over the attitude of heavy duty truck drivers, warned motorist to exercise utmost care on the road in the interest of all.
NAN reports that FRSC in the state joined other commands in the country to mark the end of United Nations Global Road Safety Week, with a church thanksgiving.

The police and waste managerment agency in Lagos state caught the man pictured above, dumping refuse on the median in Ejigbo LCDA.

As punishment for his improper act, he was made to clear all the refuse on that spot with his car and led to his house where he explained his nefarious act to members of his community.

He was also reportedly made to keep the refuse within his premises for a while, and was later asked to seek the assistance of an assigned waste operator to remove the refuse and register the premises for patronage.
