I can't imagine myself working for any company physically it must be remote. ever since I graduated I haven't worked physically for anyone before, I always do freelance, I am not the fan of 9 to 5 job sector. I am also happy to say I have removed a couple of persons from physical to freelancers. I rather write a book to make money than to work for anyone physically from 9 to 5 plus enough sexual, psychological, and mental stress. This is the time to re-evaluate your job!!!

From my experience, you battery is gone, lead acid especially cheap Chinese brands cannot be saved, you might have a slim chance if it were the premium brands.

As for the laptop power banks, there are various models and capacities out there mostly based on your budget, from brand new ready made to locally fabricated.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your battery is dead. Haven gotten that out of the way, let's look at the reason why?

1. Your battery is a fake Chinese battery, so the internals are crappy. Even under optimal condition it wouldn't have lasted 1year.
2. Constantly draining Ur battery below 50% deep of discharge will kill Ur battery in no time, as the battery cannot tolerate the abuse. These singular reason is why the world is going lithium.
3. Ur inverter is one of the worst in the market as it can drain your battery to below 11v cos one cannot edit the parameters to a desired set point especially for low voltage disconnect, and if done a couple of times will put ur battery in a coma and the effect might be irreversible.
4. While I applaud your journey so far, not minding the setbacks, there is a saying that one's system is as good as the materials we use for it, quality hardwares aren't cheap so you might spend a little more to get Ur desired results.
Lastly and as an advise, since u're only charging Ur laptop and phones, getting a full inverter system isn't efficient as there are individuals here on nairaland who build laptop battery banks with lithium batteries for such task and these are more efficient and durable than the system u have.
I would advise you search for such and enjoy ur investment.

I need to mention that I stopped using the inverter and battery as soon as it stopped charging, I worked from a friend's place whenever there's no power till I got the battery charger, neither did I ever use it when it's low. You need to see how I pamper it cos it's important to my job. As soon as it beeps once I turn it off immediately! and the beeping sound only started happening when I started charging with an external battery charger and this is because it doesn't last beyond 2 hours.

So it's most likely number 1, the guy installed a fake Chinese battery without warranty for me and failed to let me know. Funny enough I got to know him from nairaland here!

Please can the battery still be redeemed, if yes, please let me know how to go about it, if not, kindly tell me more about the laptop battery bank as I haven't heard of it before. If I knew about it before I wouldn't have gone for the inverter honestly. The information I'd like to know is: How much should I budget for the laptop battery bank if I have to go for it, and what quality should I look out for to forestall any issues in future.

Hello here. Please I really need some help here.

I installed this inverter and battery in November last year for my remote job. I didn't install solar panels because we normally have up to 18 hours power supply in my area except on some bad days when power could go off for 2 days or more.

I use it to power just my work laptop and phone and it normally stay up to 2days or more before draining out. I work 9-5. I don't use it to power any other electronics, not even my bulbs.

All of a sudden in April, the battery stopped charging, when I informed the guy who fixed it I was told the inverter is bad, that high current led to it, even though we didn't experience any high current situation in my area during that time. He said I'll need to buy an external battery charger which I bought and have been using.

Problem is, since I started charging with the external charger the battery no longer last beyond 2 hours before it drains out and this is really affecting my job.

I have informed the guy who installed it but he's not proferring any solution.

Please I need help on what to do to get it to last 2 days+ as it used to as this is affecting my job badly.

As much as some of y'all are sceptical I see no reason why you should discourage others. I read through and didn't see anywhere that we were required to pay some money to them.

The sites they pasted for the PCC are only recommendations. They didn't indicate that your PCC must be from the recommended sites.

If you have your PCC before now, you can submit and wait. Someone even posted above that they've submitted theirs.

So what's all these discouragement about? It's super irritating! Gosh!!! Be aware that most people discouraging you here didn't receive the invite, so don't let no one discourage you.

PCC can be obtained from FCID or the police station and can be used for other stuff aside this job application, so it isn't a waste if you have the money to obtain it.

As regards the company, I read that they're a startup so it's possible that they're still putting their house in order hence the low LinkedIn presence and other social sites, but why am I even encouraging anyone to submit their PCC sef. It's a choice, if you like go for it, if you aren't confident then relax and watch but kindly allow others submit theirs and don't smear your fears on others.

I had this problem for my son. Middle name on NIN was first name on NIS. They asked me the correct arrangement, and I said NIN is correct. They told me to look for an officer like that, I found him and he took me to meet another officer in servicom. The man gave me his phone number and told me to call him at a certain time. I called and he said he has to send a mail to NIS Abuja for rearrangement. I was told to pay 5k for that. Then my boy captured a week later. I am diy but little mistakes like this is what they use to get money from diy people . I chose NIN to be correct because I didn't want them to send me to nimc. No nimc office close to me. Also, I felt that it will not be too stressful for them to do it in immigration office there.

Oh wow! I met a random person outside who said he could do the correction for 5k, but he said it'll take 1 week. I wasn't sure I'd find him when I come back there next week, so I didn't do it with him. I guess I'd have to look for NIMC close to where I stay and go do the correction.

Omo I'm just leaving Ikoyi office now. I wasn't able to capture today. I was told that my names are not arranged properly on my NIN. That I should go to NIN office to correct it.
