The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has explained the discrepancies in his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) certificate.
Atiku offered the clarification through Dele Momodu, one of his aides, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in a post on his social media platform, X.
According to Momodu, the clarification became necessary following allegations of forg£ry against his principal by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Some members of the APC had questioned the name ”Sadiq Abubakar” in Atiku’s WAEC certificate as against his other credentials.

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has reacted to the threat by the minister of FCT Nyesom Wike, over the movement of cows in the Nigerian capital.
The national secretary of the body, Saleh Alhassan Kubah said “Where is the grazing land in Abuja? Is it inside the building they will graze? The thing is, Wike is not consequential. We have seen Ortom come and go.
So we don’t want to engage Wike, who has to take ‘Ogogoro’ [Alcoholic drink] before he goes to the office every morning.

“You’ve not heard it before? He said it himself. Let him deliver services in the FCT. We are waiting to see the good works he will do. You know he’s working for our party, so I can’t criticise him.
“He’s our minister. So I don’t want to start fighting our minister. It’s not consequential because there’s no grazing area in Abuja.
“All those cattle you see there belong to the elite there, so he’ll find a way for them. Wike doesn’t merit our responses. Let him deal with the massive abandoned buildings.

The keyboardist and the lead guitarist reportedly absconded after arriving the country for a performance at an event.

Nigerian Customs Seized 20 Containers Loaded With Expired Tomato Concentrate Worth N116million In Lagos
The acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on Friday, announced that the Service intercepted no fewer than 20 containers loaded with expired tomato concentrates at the Tin-Can Island port in Lagos State.
The Customs boss, who made this known while displaying the seizure, noted that the concentrate was seized by the Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited (PTML) Command of the Service on August 8, 2023 with one suspect arrested.
Adeniyi explained that the expired tomato concentrates, which have a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N116million, were falsely declared as containing almond shells and imported by Nikecristy Investment Limited.
The Customs boss noted that the operation that led to the seizure aligned perfectly with his set goals for the Service. Adding that the Service’s primary objectives are to curb smuggling, safeguard national revenue, ensure the security of the nation, and promote legitimate trade and businesses.
He warned importers against importing products that would endanger the lives of Nigerians, saying attempt to introduce such a large quantity of expired food products into the Nigerian market was heartless and inexcusable.
He said; “Today, we stand before you to announce a remarkable seizure at PTML. We have successfully intercepted and detained a staggering 20 containers filled with expired tomato concentrate, an unprecedented event since the inception of this command.
“On the 8th of August, 2023, during a routine examination, our vigilant officers at PTML uncovered a cache of expired tomato concentrate, deemed unsafe for human consumption. The audacity of the smugglers to attempt introducing this hazardous product into the Nigerian market is both shocking and disheartening.
“These expired tomato concentrates were concealed within 20 containers, each falsely declared as containing almond shells, all under the auspices of a company identified as Nikecristy Investment Limited. In each container, 80 drums were meticulously arranged, amounting to a total of 1,600 drums. The Duty Paid Value of this illegal cargo is a staggering sum of N116.2million.
“As of now, all these containers remain in our custody, officially recorded as seizures. We have apprehended one suspect, Mr. Okonkwo Oliver Izunna, who is currently under administrative bail but remains under investigation.
“This seizure, which was processed through three separate single good declarations (SGDs) forms, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to maximally suppress smuggling and our determination to safeguard the lives of Nigerian citizens by intercepting dangerous imports such as these.

NBC issues final warning to Arise TV over insulting remarks⁣
The Federal Government through the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has issued a final warning to Arise Television over the use of derogatory and incendiary remarks on its station.
Naija News reports that the warning was contained in a letter by the NBC’s Director General, Dr Balarabe Shehu Ilelah, on October 6, 2023.
The letter urged the TV station to have a delay mechanism to guard against undesirable contents.
The letter, which was addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Arise Global Media Limited, also urged the TV station to keep to its responsibility of keeping its guest on check.
The letter titled: “Preponderance of derogatory and incendiary remarks: final warning” reads in part: “The NBC has observed with concern preponderance of incendiary remarks allowed on Arise news.
This letter seeks to underscore the tremendous responsibility put on the broadcaster to manage the array of guest that may feature on the station from time to time.
“The commission listed the station’s morning show programme on 5th October anchored by Reuben Abati, Rufai Oseni and Ayo Maio-Ese, which featured Oladokun Hassan and Dele Farotimi as guests. The programme contained unguarded incendiary remarks by Dele Farotimi against the Legislature and the Executive, the Judiciary and Mr. President.
“The station was also accused of not keeping to its responsibility while airing its programme ”Newsday” which featured Kenneth Okonkwo, (Spokesperson of Labour Party) who used derogatory remarks on air.
“The commission therefore drew the attention of the broadcast station to broadcast rule and code 1.10.3, 3.3.1(a), 3.3.3(c), 3.3.1 (e), 5.3.3(b) and 5.5.6.

Osun State residents rejoice as they get power supply after 91yrs in darkness
Residents of Araromi-Okeodo, a community in Ife-South LGA of Osun State, have been ‘blessed’ with electricity after 91 years in total darkness.
The residents, whose joys know no bound, was said to have trooped out en mass in jubilation at the weekend, with many of them describing the development as ‘miracle of the century’.
The monarch of the town, Oba Abbas Akanbi, the Alara of Araromi-Okeodo, led his chiefs and subjects to the off-grid location of the 50-kilowatt energy firm responsible for the supply of power during its inauguration.
Oba Akanbi told newsmen that the he did not believe that power supply would be possible in his lifetime.

Nigeria's Ex-minister Diezani appears in U.K. Court over alleged bribery, gets £70k bail

Former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, appeared before Westminster Magistrate’s Court in London, United Kingdom on Monday morning, October 2, over charges of bribery.
Reuters reports that the former minister was charged with receiving bribes in the form of cash, luxury goods, flights on private jets and the use of high-end properties in Britain in return for awarding oil contracts.
Alison-Madueke was arrested in London in 2015, shortly after the expiration of her office, and was charged in August with six bribery offences. She has spent the past eight years on police bail, living in St John’s Wood, an expensive area of London.
Appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court, she spoke only to give her name, date of birth and address. She was not asked to formally enter a plea, although her lawyer Mark Bowen told the court she would be pleading not guilty.
According to Reuters, the charges against her, read out in court, all related to events alleged to have taken place in London during her time as a Nigerian minister.
Prosecutor Andy Young said she was alleged to have accepted a wide range of benefits in cash and in kind from people who wanted to receive or continue to receive the award of oil contracts which he said were worth billions of dollars in total.
The advantages included a delivery of £100,000 ($121,620) in cash, the payment of private school fees for her son, and the use and refurbishment of several luxurious properties in London and in the English countryside.

Cement price will increase to N9,000 per bag very soon — Manufacturers
The Cement Producers Association of Nigeria, has warned that the plan of the federal government to introduce concrete roads will increase the price of cement to N9, 000.
The association issued this warning in a statement jointly signed by the National Chairman, Prince David Iweta and National Secretary Chief Reagan Ufomba, on Sunday.

The price of cement per bag currently sells at the rate of N5,000. The association also called on the current administration to permanently address the perennial cement price hike problem by facilitating larger participation in the cement industry, noting that Nigerians have no business buying cement for more than N5, 600 per bag.
Ufomba commended the works Minister’s position on cement-made roads but warned of dire consequences, if the supply end is not addressed properly.
The cement producers urged the government to lay more emphasis on road design that allows both cement technology and asphalt pavement to run concurrently and provide ample time for a smooth transition that allows contractors to invest in commensurate and requisite equipment and retooling.
The statement read in part, “Our findings from various parts of the country show that cement sells for as high as N6000 per bag in the rainy season. Our prediction is that it will sell for over N9,000 per bag in the dry season, especially with the pronouncement of the Honourable Minister of Works on cement technology and the marching order on housing by Mr President if the government does not take proactive steps.

Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain implant startup, set to begin human trials
Elon Musk’s controversial biotechnology startup Neuralink opened up recruitment for its first human clinical trial Tuesday, according to a company blog.
After receiving approval from an independent review board, Neuralink is set to begin offering brain implants to paralysis patients as part of the PRIME Study, the company said. PRIME, short for Precise Robotically Implanted Brain-Computer Interface, is being carried out to evaluate both the safety and functionality of the implant.

Trial patients will have a chip surgically placed in the part of the brain that controls the intention to move. The chip, installed by a robot, will then record and send brain signals to an app, with the initial goal being “to grant people the ability to control a computer cursor or keyboard using their thoughts alone,” the company wrote.
Those with quadriplegia due to cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) may qualify for the six-year-long study – 18 months of at-home and clinic visits followed by follow-up visits over five years. Interested people can sign up in the patient registry on Neuralink’s website.
Musk has been working on Neuralink’s goal of using implants to connect the human brain to a computer for five years, but the company so far has only tested on animals. The company also faced scrutiny after a monkey died in project testing in 2022 as part of efforts to get the animal to play Pong, one of the first video games.
In his new book about Neuralink’s founder, author Walter Isaacson reported that Musk was inspired by science fiction authors such as Iain Banks to pursue a “human-machine interface technology called ‘neural lace’ that is implanted into people and can connect all of their thoughts to a computer.”
In May, Neuralink tweeted that it had received FDA clearance for human clinical trials, with the approval acknowledged by the agency in a statement.

Continuation: aside his record label boys he has other young boys he recruit who helps in carrying out his drug business, one thing led to another, he started restricting Mohbad from going out alone, if he goes out he sees people trailing him, it was that bad, he then confided in some of his friends and they told him to run for his dear life if not it’s a life time contract or they take his life, on hearing that he summoned Naira Marley that he wants to leave the record label that was the beginning of his nightmare, Naira refused saying he can’t just opt out like that, this degenerated into serious arguement and Mohbad was Beaten blue black by Naira Marley boys, one of his arm even got broken in the process, Bella was in the know of all these happening, he was updating Bella how things were going, he manage to stay in the record label for a month more then one evening he wrote a letter as advised by friends, trying to make it official that he wants to leave the record label, Naira Marley tore the letter right in front of him and walk him out, that night Mohbad said he was done and walked out on his boss Naira, Naira on the other hand seeing that he like this boy don mean business he went out to plan with the NDLEA officials to come raid Mohbad so that even when they finally fall out and Mohbad tries to say all he knows, people will call him a drug addict and not pay attention to his words, luckily that day when NDLEA raided their house, he went on live and spill some things but Naira was ready for the damage control, he said it was drug that made him say such things and he has abused drugs a lot, he was taken to the hospital after the NDLEA saga even though nothing was wrong with him, few days after he was discharged, his team reached out to me and said he was contemplating suicide, that I should please save them from Naira that they are small boys trying to fend for themselves, I told them to write another letter and send to Naira, if he tears it or not this time around, it’s on him, they wrote the letter and sent me a copy
