I reply you because I think there is an important information you might need.

F2A is current at the moment and might remain current for the foreseeable future. IR1 has no visa limits, therefore no priority date to be watching.

But one thing very important to switch is that if you enter as a wife of a citizen on GC, you will be due to file for US citizenship in 3 years, but if you enter as wife of a Permanent Resident, you will have to wait for 5 years before you can apply for citizenship.

I think it's very advantageous to switch to IR1 at NVC now before they schedule your embassy interview.
Thank you so much for this information. I appreciate.

Imo, i do not believe you get bumped down instead, it should bump u up as immediate relatives has more priority than F2A.

Thank you much for your response.

Hello everyone, I have a question/concern. My husband recently became a US citizen and we were thinking of upgrading our petition from F2A lR1 but we are worried that it may take us back to the bottom of the line. Our DQ is August 2021. Has anyone done this before and did it affect your PD date? TIA.

Hello everyone, our case is at the NVC stage awaiting interview but l just had a new baby. Please does anyone know how to go about adding this new baby to our already existing petition? Should we wait until our case is transferred to Nigerian embassy. I will appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

If you give birth before your interview you will just have to inform NVC about it and you would definitely be allowed to add the baby to your petition..

Of course who in their right senses wouldn't allow a new born baby to travel with his/her mother..

Ok l hope they will. Thanks for your response.

Hello my people. Please help a sister out. I have a concern bothering me. My husband is PR . I’m DQ awaiting interview date. However l’m pregnant and l’m afraid l may not get interview date before l give birth. My question is if l eventually give birth in Nigeria, how does that affect our petition? Do we have to file another I-130 for the newborn and start afresh to wait for approval? Is there a way of applying for an expedited interview for this reason? Thanks in advance.

Find out from your state ID headquarters. That’s where I did mine and they took it to Lagos and gave me date to pick it up. It’ll just cost you extra but it’s worth the stress of going to Lagos

Ok thank you so much.

I was able to get mine done through the force headquarters of my state of residence. The guys at the CID took my fingerprints with a copy of my passport bio-data page and helped courier the thing to Lagos. When it was ready, they called me to come and pick it up. Whole thing cost 20k back in 2016.

This is so helpful! Thank you so much for this information! I will go to Enugu Hqrts.

What is your current location.
Go to the police headquarters office there and you can process you Police clearance. They would help you send it. If you are in Abuja, I can link you up to the person who did mine.

I am in Enugu. Thank you so much for the information! I will go to the state hq then.

I printed the form online. Filled and attached my passport photo. After thumb printing on the document, I sent it down to Lagos with transporters. My cousin received it and took it down to .........

Please what website did you go to print the form? And you mean just thumb printing of the form can take the place of fingerprinting?
Also did you have to attach a copy of the biodata page of your int’l passport?
Thanks for your response.

Can be done when she’s naturalized. Once your mom become citizen, she’ll be the one to call NVC not you.

F2A 08JAN17, Visa Bulletin date. Sooner he applies, sooner you get processed. Why he didn't apply after you married? Why he doesn't apply now? Immediate family Green Card holders, sometimes takes 2 years and sometimes jumps to 1 year or no waiting time at all like it was few years ago. Sounds like you are his traditional wife and he has one official wife. You have already a child together but he didn't apply for you both? Why?

Sorry, no valid story to cover you up. Try a simple tourist visa, maybe you are lucky and get it, but I doubt.
Ah, and the US embassy doesn't care if you need to wait for 2 years your residence approval, everybody waits, adult children, siblings wait 10-14 years, everybody is in line, that's why the Visa Bulletin, too many applicants, we can't process all at once.

You are very funny o. what are you trying to achieve by telling me he has an official wife? Bro that's totally outside my question. Did I ask you for your opinion about my family? So many 'whys' in your response. I'm seeking for tips and inputs and not to answer why why why or for you to imply my hubby has official and traditional wives.

He could bring you very fast still being on a job visa, on job visa he was allowed to bring his family with him from the day 1. For to get a tourist visa, your intentions don't count, what counts is the way it looks, 2 immediate family people are going to visit the husband and father, the interviewing Officer will see it as a clear overstay and most likely will deny your visa. Will say your husband can come to visit you and his son anytime or your husband can apply for you both the PR family petition.

BTW, GC holder family petition is not too long, 1 year or a little more, check the Visa Bulletin. Something is not right with you asking the tourist visa together with your son and insisting. The embassy will see it as a clear intent to overstay and apply for AOS inside USA, they don't want that.

He can't bring his family after he has gotten PR, not when he applied as a single man.

GC family sponsored takes about 3years. They are still in Feb 2017 or Dec2017 depending on what state dept chooses to use. and it has not moved for 4 months now

I do appreciate your responses.

How did he get his PR? Through marriage? If so, there is some waiting time to petition the new wife. Try a tourist visa but having your husband there, it may deny automatically telling you to apply as his wife and son.

Why didn't he petition you both just after marriage? Are you and his son in his immigration file? Because if you are not, it may complicate things.

Job-sponsored. We all know the wait time for PR family sponsored GC is way too long. I have a business and dealings to take care of in Nigeria so i truly intend on visiting and returning back. I'm just asking if there is a way to present my case.
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fedo: 1:55pm On Apr 08, 2019
He was already a PR before we got married.

123JohnF:

Why your husband doesn't apply for you and your son for residence? - It will be the question in your interview and you will be denied. If your husband is in US, he should have you, his wife and his son in his PR application and in the computer if will show up before your interview. Your chances are very slim to get a tourist visa.

Hello good people, my husband is a new US permanent resident and I know having ties with Nigeria is a big thing. I'm afraid this may affect my chances. What would be the best way to present my case during the interview? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Hello brethren. So I'm trying to gather my burden of proof but the challenge is that the hospital and doctor I'm talking to in Nashville (Tristar summit med center) do not give out email address;they only prefer phone calls. How do I show the embassy that I'm corresponding with a hospital and doctor? Or can anyone recommend another hospital in same City.
