Education / Re: UNILAG Leads Mass Resignation Of Lecturers Over ASUU Strike by femeritus: 4:01pm On Aug 31, 2022
Jman06:
I am sure you did not watch that interview he had with AriseTV. I watched the program and the ASUU president never generalized the state universities. He only referred to UNIOSUN, EKSU and KWASU. He then cited KASU as example of the schools where attempts to truncate the strike failed.

I watched it and read the transcripts too. Why should he label even if it's just one school quack just because they pulled out of the strike? Do you know where the ASUU President teaches? Find out and you'll know why I said it was not smart of him to call any University quack not when his own University is even worse in standard. By his definition, a quack University is the any University that pulls out of the strike.
Education / Re: UNILAG Leads Mass Resignation Of Lecturers Over ASUU Strike by femeritus: 3:02pm On Aug 31, 2022
Nigerian Universities DO NOT parade the best brains. Most of those lecturers got the appointment by who they know and not what they know. Only a few actually merit their position. Merely judging by the utterances of the so-called Chairperson of ASUU you can tell the Professor of Soil Science does not sound intelligent. Very arrogant and this is characteristic of lecturers in Nigeria who think they are demi gods. Imagine him calling State universities quacks and instead of apologising, he turned around to say he was referring to only 3 universities. Don't think I'm saying this because I graduated from a State University. I actually graduated from a 1st generation Federal university and had my masters in a 2nd generation Federal University but what the combative ASUU president said is utterly unintelligent.

We are waiting for the lecturers to resign and give way to young, vibrant and adventurous scholars who are roaming the streets without any job simply because they don't know anybody in high places. We don't have a want of them in Nigeria.

Have you asked yourself why we don't see witches among the elite. Can you imagine the President or the Governor's wives being labelled as witches? It seems what people term as witchcraft is extreme poverty.
Politics / Re: Donald Duke: Atiku Has Been Contesting For President Since 1992 by femeritus: 7:09pm On Aug 12, 2022
I like where he said if we vote in the wrong person in 2023, forget this country. Imagine what the country was in 2015 and now. Imagine what it would be in 2031 if this trends continue. The country will seize to exist or it'll turn to Somalia and Afghanistan and Libya combined. Let's say no to these parties and so called leaders that have impoverished Nigerians and choose wisely.
Family / Re: Unusual Behavior Between My Step Brother And My Wife by femeritus: 6:33pm On Aug 12, 2022
It's surprising to know that you're the one providing for the family and to a large extent, even your half brother. I actually took some hours to ponder over the story and read comments here too before commenting. I hope you find the time to read and act on my advice. It may look lengthy but I took my time because I know it'll benefit others in similar situations too.

The truth is, your wife and your brother may not have had anything even though the chances are slim. Don't mistrust your wife yet and don't let her and your brother know you're suspecting anything, otherwise you might do something stupid, scatter the family peace or even end up dead all because of suspicion. Things are not usually the way they seem. Sex is the easiest thing to have with a woman or man irrespective of their marital status. But it could also be the most difficult thing between a man and woman depending on the values held by both parties or even one of them. I have courted a lady for years. She liked me, no doubt. We even passed the nights together in her place or mine but never had sex even though I made the move
but she always resisted and I was not the type to rape a lady. Conversely, I've met a lady on the road or bus and we ended up in bed few hours later. My advice is, don't conclude yet but you need to act fast, otherwise it's a matter of time before they commit the act.

Whether they're sleeping now is not clear but some things are clear from your narrative. You seem like the good guy who doesn't want to offend people but end up being hurt. The world is too rough for people like you. Secondly, you FAILED woefully in protecting your wife. Women need protection and assurance but you left your wife helpless and at the receiving end. Who knows how many times your wife must have told you about how your brother berated her or if she didn't tell you, she must have cried many times behind you wondering why you hated her so much or why she was so worthless to you. You failed to show her how much she meant to you when you allowed your brother turn her to a piece of rag. Now it seems she has realised you're not a hiding place for her and has decided to play along.

Don't get me wrong, she may not have given in yet. Just pray that she's still praying that you man up and help her reclaim her position in the family. That's if she is not already enjoying your brother and that is why I said act fast before darkness covers you up.

Your brother is playing a mind game on you and your wife. Don't think he's sleeping with her yet because I found it difficult to believe that he would ask your wife for an outing before you or cut meat for your wife before you with her teeth. He also called your wife before you and your wife picked just once after you had called her 4 times. It's either he's passing a message to your wife that you're nothing before him and he can do anything to your wife without you batting an eyelid (which is too bad and you're to blame for this) OR he's so innocent he doesn't see anything wrong with those acts. Afterall, he didn't need to ask your wife for an outing before you, if he had something to hide from you. He also didn't need to call your wife after she had failed to pick your call. By the way,I thought your wife was going to make an excuse that she wasn't with her phone when you called her, that she just picked her phone now when the other call came but telling you that she was trying to pick your call was DUMB and unbelievable at 4 different times.

MY ADVICE
Draw close to your wife and make her have a sense of belonging. Apologise for treating her like a slave and allowing your brother do worse.

Set clear boundaries with your brother. Don't give the impression that you're suspecting infidelity. Just let him know that you feel your wife has suffered a lot from you and him through the way she has been treated and you want to right the wrongs. Do this and keep your eyes and ears open. If you take your time, you'll soon find out the truth. If your wife is already bleeping him, they'll still not stop and that will give you the time to catch them red-handed. It's only a matter of time. Such things don't go on forever. There are so many ways you can find out but this my epistle is already too long to start saying that. By restoring your wife, you'll be at peace that you have mended fences and if she eventually turns out a hole, you can at least satisfy your conscience and have a genuine reason to move on.

Don't listen to people telling you to chase her out. Even though it may come as first thought, the truth is you have no evidence yet. Put your mind at rest, be the man in your family. It is not too late. There's never a wrong time to do the right thing. You can still put your brother in his place. If your brother doesn't care about your happiness, why care about his? The children you said have helped his mental condition may not even be the one doing it, it may be the way your wife is servicing him or the way she is pretending to play along so as have her peace and not to be the scapegoat. She may be giving your brother some false hope just to have her peace while praying God should give you the courage to caution your brother. I think that woman is bottling a lot and is suffering within.

Your metal health too is important so stop thinking about things that may not be happening and focus on what you know and can repair.

Sports / Re: Top 5 Painful Defeats In Nigeria Football History - Which was more painful? by femeritus: 6:42am On Aug 07, 2022
The most painful for me was USA 94 Round of 16 game with Italy. Imagine if we had beaten Italy in that match, we would have created a record for all African teams by at least getting to the Semi's if not even the finals. The Super Eagles were voted as 3rd best entertaining team at the tournament. With the love I had for our national team then, I refused to eat that night but since the Super Eagles started wobbling and fumbling, I no longer feel anything if they lose. Till date, we haven't gone past the round of 16 whereas countries like Ghana, Guinea qualified for the Quarter finals at first appearance. Cameroun and Senegal, if I'm not mistaken have also made the QF. The quality in Nigerian team has gone to the dogs.

On the contrary , I strongly believe Seyi is doing her job well but the other two guys need to step up and act like men by being affirmative so we can have balanced assessment. But then again, you accused Seyi of being uncouth while you're also like her or even worse. For instance, you said 'Miss Shay foolishly posits....' I may be wrong but what this tells me is that you'll be more uncouth than Seyi, if you're one of the judges. Those who live in glass houses must not throw stones, they say.

Why are some persons angry that he apologised? No single person can fight the battle alone and all Yoruba inspite of their religious, political or social affiliations need to be united in this fight to succeed. It's a good thing he apologised because he was already losing popularity and for me that would have been very bad for the struggle and don't be surprised this has been the plan of the detractors from the beginning. They want to divide the Yoruba so they can have their way. It's good Sunday knows he cannot fight the fight alone. He also acknowledged that he's even one of the smallest warriors in Yoruba land as there are more powerful persons than he is in Yoruba land but they need to wake up.

I really don't think Sunday should have dragged the King in the first place as this could polarise the region and weaken the struggle. Also because the Oba really didn't speak ill of Sunday. He only advised him on how to go about it and no one can say categorically that the Oni did not express his displeasure to the President when they met in Abuja. Saying the Alaafin should have been the one to be called to Abuja alone was divisive and could reignite the old rivalry between the two monarchs and their supporters and the Yoruba nation and the fight against killer herdsmen will be worse for it.

When leaders meet behind closed doors, they can be brutally honest with each other but you don't expect them to spit fire in public. We don't have the details of the meeting the Oni had with the President so it would be unfair to say he didn't tell the President the truth.

All the same, Sunday has apologised and I believe the humble and amiable Oba has accepted his apologies, let the struggle continue and all enemies put to shame.

Invest in new retail business and UK/US stocks and thank me later. You can make between 12 to 20 percent monthly without having yo sweat. Just log into your account once in a while to check what's going on. I can guide you on this for free and with just 150k or less you can invest and start making something you can rely on as a second source of income and save for projects but the more you invest, the more you earn. Good thing is you earn in hard currencies and the Nigerian economy doesn't affect it. You can contact me if that sounds like what you want. Zero 8 zero 22341150. Residual income is the secret to financial freedom.

I just hope he is not doing the selection of who to fight... grin grin

Why not give credit to whom it's due. Let's celebrate winners so we can win too. If you don't know about boxing, let me school you.

Pulev was a mandatory challenger for that belt, meaning he was the number one contender or better still, rated higher than other boxers in that category because had beaten the best among highly rated boxers. A mandatory challenger is not hand picked. He qualifies to earn that spot by earning it through winning. Even when he is disqualified maybe for failing a dope test, the next most qualified steps in. That's the way it works.
