Education / Re: Did You Attend UNILAG? by FemiD(m): 3:53am On Jul 31, 2006
Well, I believe it's a relative opinion to say which is better. However, UNILAG convincingly stands out. Employers are more comfortable with the products and if you take a sample you will discover that there is something that makes UNILAG a choice anytime. It has the highest number of admission applicants each year. Once an Akokite, forever an Akokite. Proud to be One!!!
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by FemiD(m): 4:58am On Jul 30, 2006
@kitaun
I agree to an extent with your post suggesting the need for some sort of military might to avoid pitfalls of a coup d'etat. Well I think that has been done now and we do not need them anymore. Their presence or absence can no longer prevent a coup. What we need now is a president with some military intelligence. It's a pity that most of the politicians are just concerned about transforming the economy and none is thinking of protecting it. We definitely need a George Bush kind of person who is well versed in military operations and control, someone who will touch every facet of life and that includes putting the military exactly where they belong at anytime.
On another note, it's sad to express that we will never have 'the best President'. It's the law of averages at work. The best and the worst will never come to being, the mediocres(average) is the best we can get. In a country where ours is still a politics of gangsters, I cannot but pity those professionals who want to come into politics. Imagine what happened to Funsho Williams - is that not enough to scare good-intentioned people?!
There is still so much to pray, wish and work for in Nigeria. Not until politics becomes a matter of presenting your facts and allowing the people to choose you based on your dreams and what to expect, then things will still not be right. Most people in politics now will be a wreck if they are no longer in positions and that is why it is still a do-or-die. If you truly want to serve the people and the people says no, u just pack your load. But we have people who will force themselves on people they want to serve. Is it by force to serve?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Want To Do Ur Assignment, Job Or Research Sent To Me For A Petty Service Charge by FemiD(m): 2:06am On Jul 28, 2006
What do you take people on this forum for? Some group of indigent dumb-dumb who finds a personal computer as equal to HUMMER jeep, that you are so bold to scream it loud for all to hear?
I have a personnal computer for research 24hrs
Eeeehhhnnn. How on earth do you think anyone will send a globetrotter/destitute who does not have a fixed address (Lagos/Abuja or is it under the bridge) a recharge card.
Be careful, before you incure the wrath of EFCC, Ole!!@!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Oracle, Java Or Cisco by FemiD(m): 5:26am On Jul 27, 2006
Well, I think Oracle will not be a bad idea to launch yourself in the IT world. It's about database administration(back-end programming) and it really does not take you away from your Industrial Chemistry. In fact, it complements it. The SQL which is used to implement Oracle is more like writing English. The rest part of Oracle; architecture, networking, back-up and recovery and performance tuning are just like every other programme/course work in school - u study,practice, familiarise and use it.
However, the pace in the IT world is such that you may need to add JAVA(front-end programming) knowledge to stand out as a candidate of choice as a DBA(Database Administator). JAVA is also not complicated at all. U will appreciate it when you start having a graphic display of your codes. The applets is also great fun. There are other programs that you may find equally interesting too like the VB.Net which is also an Object Oriented Programming Language like JAVA (some refer to it as Microsoft's alternative to JAVA - trust Microsoft, it's easy to use)
Cisco is about networking. You may just need to have a dotting knowledge about it, except you want to build a career in it. I really don't advise that you do this except you are not bothered about loosing your identity as an industrial chemist.
Politics / Re: The Most Corrupt Public Institution In Nigeria by FemiD(m): 4:14am On Jul 27, 2006
@Abeem, good talk!
The police is the worst.
I believe there is no justification that can be good enough for their corruption. I mean they even have jobs, even if the income is meagre. What happens to the several jobless people who are still thinking straight. The police needs a total re-orientation. Rather than emphasize quantity, it's better we start looking in the direction of quality. If the Police can have people with strong hearts who can do what Dora Akunyili did to NAFDAC, what Prof. Charles Soludo did to banking etc., then we will have a police that can be trusted. These days it's safer in the hands of criminals than in the hands of police, they are the same, anyway.
Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by FemiD(m): 3:45am On Jul 27, 2006
IBB Why on earth will people think that IBB will come as a saint? Have you tried observing him and realise that He is still the same old maradona. I mean if he means good, let him first give an account of the 'boom from the gulf', let him apologise to the nation for making us go through hell in the hands of ABACHA, courtesy of his evil annulment. I mean there is more to be expected from him b4 he can even start dreaming of being President not to talk of being one.

I honestly think no one in his complete state of mind will advocate a come-back for IBB except those caught up in his naira web. IBB! go to hell!

I am honestly yet to have a presidential candidate, but all I know is that the South-south should come together and present a credible candidate. This will go a long way in balancing the political equation. Fair play is the nameof the game. Nigeria is so large and so blessed that we can afford to have 'best candidate' in all states of the Federation, so why not from South-south.
Family / Re: 95 Per-cent Of Nigeria's Teenage Girls Cannot Boast Of Being Virgins! by FemiD(m): 12:40am On Jul 26, 2006
I say to those men that are naive, SHUT THE Bleep UP! Who disvirgined who? Are u not the No 1 culprits? If u can keep your Jonny at rest, the ladies will equally close their legs because they are in better control than men, who will sometimes go all the way raping them! Everybody is guilty of the moral decadence, it's all about CHANGE!
@Jay-O-Jay
N-A-I-V-E! shocked. what for? People like you make me sick when all you can ask is "Who disvirgined who? It will take eternity to answer that. I mean it's like the chicken and the egg, which comes first? While I am not trying to absorb the men from any blames (as a matter of fact, I believe that men have more of the blames than women), i believe that the ability to change things around lies more in the woman than in the man.

@mamaput
I appreciate the fact that you are now beginning to allow good reasoning to prevail. As a mother I am sure you know that there is much to life and marriage than just having a good bang. Lets emphasize those other virtues and see things work out for real. Sex is good, no doubt, but I bet you it wouldn't really have matter if i have never had it. I mean I am as complete as ever if i don't have it and if I do, bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bull s h i t i understand about HIV that has to do with unprotected sex, not sex before marriage some of you Nigerian men make me f u c k i n g sick talking about being a virgin, what for? when all, i mean all of you cheat on ya wife, go to the clubs and see who are there the married one are chatting women more than the single ones, hell the single one can't even get in there, so please if you want to talk about virginity START WITH YOUR SELF .
@coco29
i think a good way to approach this is consider world AIDS statistics. You will realise that it's the innocent younger girls who are either ignorant or too naive to demand for safe sex from their partner that often falls victim. Much of this can be avoided by telling them to close the gates until they are mature enough to take the decision.
Well for the married man palava, i think it's very unfair for you to entirely blame the men when we know that's what the girls actually want. It used to be "Oh you are married, I can't go out with you.God forbid!", but now it has changed to "You are married! But do you still love me, I am sure you are a man and you can handle it". Who is fooling who? If na you be man, you go say u no fit handle am. Haba!

@kajad
you speak my language man!!!!!!!!!!!! cool cool
Career / Re: Who Is Your Role Model? by FemiD(m): 2:45am On Jul 24, 2006
My mentor is Bishop David Oyedepo. I like him for his tact, business sense and doggedness. He is so hardworking and relentless, never stopping at nothing, willing to change the world around him.

I love my mum, she is so woderful, believes in investing into the future.

I love kofi Annan, i hope to play his role someday.

Funmi Iyanda is also wonderful. I admire her concepts.
Family / Re: 95 Per-cent Of Nigeria's Teenage Girls Cannot Boast Of Being Virgins! by FemiD(m): 1:13am On Jul 24, 2006
I mamaput, will never advise my kids to marry be4 sex.
what if the prick is too small or the man is impotent.Then they are doomed
@mamaput  why do you find so much fun in subtle defence? Which will you prefer that you lose your child in her attempt to have babies at a tender age, or even lose her to AIDS etc, Who says good sex is determined by the size of the prick. If you are bothered so much abt the size of the prick, then let him go 4 an enlargement. mind you impotency is not an incurrable disease.
It's rather late for most of us to undo that which is done (*i mean mamaput will never again be a virgin. Imposible) but for the sake of the generation (upcoming), please let's map out a better statistics (say reduce it from 95% to 65% thereabout)
Family / Re: 95 Per-cent Of Nigeria's Teenage Girls Cannot Boast Of Being Virgins! by FemiD(m): 5:48am On Jul 23, 2006
@mamaput
But all children love father Xmas.
I hate it when people try to justify a bad act by making out excuses. A child fails in school, it's the teacher that is at fault, a man cannot get a job, it's the govt, a woman cannot get babies, it must be the witches and now a woman screamed for several minutes with ectasy obviously enjoying the sex and it is the fault of money. We must learn to be responsible for our own action. i will rather prefer that you say a girl is Hot and wants to have sex than say she was lured by money or gifts.Money does not make one bad, it only brings out one's true behaviour . If ten different ladies are being enticed i bet you, the results will be different.
Family / Re: 95 Per-cent Of Nigeria's Teenage Girls Cannot Boast Of Being Virgins! by FemiD(m): 5:00am On Jul 22, 2006
@mamaput
a self-defence I guess! It is true that circumstances may have been responsible for certain things, but when it becomes a festival, then it really become a concern.
Family / Re: 95 Per-cent Of Nigeria's Teenage Girls Cannot Boast Of Being Virgins! by FemiD(m): 1:29am On Jul 19, 2006
Hey, you have really done justice by hitting this on the head. I was just discussing with a friend the pathetic situation that we have on our hands where ladies even the more religious ones throw away themselves just to have sex. It is no more the guy who wants it hard and really desperately these days, in fact the guys have shifted attention to making money. The more conventional approach of men demanding for sex has been replaced with tha rather unstylish and crude manner in which girls lure guys to sex. At a time, i had a feeling that some girls were just around me for the sake of sex and just probably to turn me to a intimacy gadget.
The ubiquitous sex show is virtually evident everywhere. I served in an islamic secondary school and witnessed a lot of sexual pervertness on the display. And just before you think the christians are better, then you will surprised to know that some of this born-again sisters are just as wild as fox.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnhhhhhhhhhhhh, very pathetic but not unexpected in a world where we now have on sale child porns, the word they use now is have it anywhere, anytime, anyhow and at any age, just do it (like NIKE). GOD HAVE MERCY

Romance / Re: Is This How To Ask A Girl Out? by FemiD(m): 1:01am On Jul 14, 2006
It's really not a vogue thing to think you are a sweet-tongue toaster. No one is! What makes one fall will definitely not work for another. Girls no longer fall for lyrics. We know what they fall for!!! I am sure you don't want to hear it from me cos you already know it. Even the most boring but 'wadded' guy will find girls falling over him. So, the next time a girl tells you that she fell for your lyrics, don't be excited cos that's the new definition of a lie.

Education / Re: NIIT Scholarship by FemiD(m): 10:58am On Jul 11, 2006
The exam is basically aptitude test. They are cheap as already hinted by Jire. Your grade will eventually determine the amount of rebate that you will get. It's nothing really to be bothered about. I think it's more of a market strategy than a scholarship. Just make sure you answer all the questions to the best of your ability so that you can at least have the maximum rebate, usually about 50%. Best of luck!

Career / Re: Any Hope For lower grades In Nigeria? by FemiD(m): 3:26pm On Jun 12, 2006
I really enjoy the lines aspresented bypeople with diverse opinions. There are several people with a 3rd class and i am one of them. I will rather say it has been a blessing somehow for me because while my mates were littering the streets looking for a super-normal job with their priced certificates, I got a job just few months after nysc and have since developed myself. By His grace, I have added some IT skills to myself, Oracle Certified Professional,Sun Java Certified Programmer etc. I have developed several skills in Web design, programming with C, C++ and VB,AutoCAD design etc , There is just so much you can do for yourself. I am back in school now and I will be graduating soon with Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. Back to ur original question. You can go directly for your masters as long as you are not changing faculty but if you have to change faculty just like I did, you will have to go through post graduate dip. And now you know u have to put in all your best because you will be competing with peolple of all grades. I mean in my class right now there are first class, second class and they are no threat to me. Best of Luck to you.
