Sports / Could Messi Ever Have Done This In Barcelonia by femlex(m): 5:19pm On Sep 29, 2021
The status of Messi as a Goat is gradually reducing in PSG, with many superstars in the PSG squad, Messi is easily fitting in as an ordinary player, with no penalty duties, no coming out from the tunnel as the last man, now this! laying on the floor. I never thought I will see Messi like this. One player that CAN NEVER DO THIS IS ZLATAN.

Abuja this days just dey tire person, aside from lighting, the black and white paintings of most of the roads are faded, the heaps of refuse dumps in the satellite towns now is crazy. These are things you do not see before. With FCT-IRS, FCT is generating enough money, so it is really surprising to see FCT in this state.

I think we need to understand if there are other factors involved before making a general conclusion.

If it is as explained, then verbal warming could first be given since it was a general agreement by all staff.

The staff involved should have approached his/her boss for permission not to be present. Not attending without permission is wrong.

Most people in this forum will not take it.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Average Salary In Nigeria by femlex(m): 9:38pm On Jul 01, 2021
Sometimes when we hear 500K monthly, we think this is a big money, with the current situation in Nigeria, 500k to N700k is middle class, even lower middle class if you compare to some countries. Someone earning 700k monthly cannot build a decent house in a decent place in Abuja within 3 years, with other conflicting usual expenses like rent, car, school fees, e.t.c. Five years ago we can say such a person is a higher middle class but not in this Buhari time.

080bjaked:

Just to answer only the last part of your question. Lemme shock you. In Lagos, salary of 700k is still middle class. Mid-upper class starts from 1.2-1.5m per month. Ask Bankers and Telco geeks.

[s]Elizkid:

18k to 50k - lower class

50k to 200k - middle class

200k to 500k - upper class

500k and above - Rich.

Unfortunately, more than 50% of Nigeria's population are on the lower class threshold, no surprise we're the poverty capital of the world.

If you find yourself in the middle class, na God's Grace. But right now, even they live like poor people due to the sky-high prices of commodities.[/s]

Sports / Re: Why Are Headed Goals More Difficult To Save In Football? by femlex(m): 11:40am On Mar 22, 2021
Because of the closeness to the goalkeepers.

Before keepers react, it is usually too late. Most saves in this regard are mostly when the ball hits the keeper or the ball is far enough for him to react.

Music/Radio / Burna Boy Wins Grammy With 'Twice As Tall' Album by femlex(m): 9:26pm On Mar 14, 2021
Nigeria Afrobeats stars Burna Boy and Wizkid have won at the 2021 Grammys.

Burna Boy won the Best Global Music Album category while Wizkid won the Best Music Video for his song with Beyoncé; Brown Skin Girl, from Lion King: The Gift album.

Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy was also a winner on the song.

Burna Boy, real name Damini Ogulu, a nominee for a second consecutive year, won with his Twice As Tall album.

The 29-year-old beat four others including the Malian band, Tinariwen.

The Grammys described Twice As Tall as "a masterclass in the vibe and hustle that have made Burna Boy an international musical force".

"[He] continues to torch limitations, seamlessly blending styles and genres and fearlessly fuelling the fire heating the melting pot of pop, Afrobeat, dancehall, reggae and more," it said.

The album features a wide range of international artists such as Stormzy, Youssou Ndour, Naughty By Nature, and Chris Martin of Coldplay, and had Sean Combs as executive producer.

Second time lucky
Burna Boy was nominated in the same category in 2019 - then known as Best World Music Album - but lost out to Angelique Kidjo at the awards ceremony in 2020.

However, Kidjo dedicated her win to him, saying: "Burna Boy is among those young artists that come from Africa that is changing the way our continent is perceived and the way that African music is the bedrock of all music."

Born in Nigeria's Port Harcourt, Burna Boy released his first album, LIFE, an acronym for Leaving an Impact For Eternity, in 2013.

That album was followed by the release of Redemption in 2015 and Outside in 2018 that included the international hit track, Ye.

But it was with his 2019 African Giant album that Burna Boy really hit the international scene and earned his first Grammys nomination.

Often compared to Nigerian superstar Fela Ransome-Kuti, whose songs Burna has sampled generously, he has become increasingly vocal about social causes in Africa.

At the height of the xenophobic attacks in South Africa in 2019, he threatened to never set foot in the country again unless the government took action, although he has since performed in the country.

How come no one is talking about it in Nairaland. Burna Boy with his Twice as Tall Album wins Grammy. This is a bigggg deal. The First Nigeria solo Artist to win it

How does seeing snail in d dream concern "financial lack"?

Religion / Re: Do Dreams Really Matter? by femlex(m): 11:36am On Sep 06, 2020
Well what I have learnt over time is that dream usually go with your spiritual life, also dream is a gift too. From my experience, you remember your dream more if you make direct effort to remember, and you remember dream more if you could wake up around 3 to 5 a.m.

chingle5:

OP u u even dream.... I own problem is I don't seem to dream.. I can't even remember the last time I dreamt... Or maybe it is because I sleep very late like around 12 - 3 cos I am the one that use to off gen and I am more of a light sleeper undecided undecided

I wanted to say do not mind those that say dream is a just a subconscious la la la, but I remember that we are different, some do not believe they dream at all but to some dream is more like I message, a vision or a prophesy. You need to study your dream and understand the pattern and the message it is trying to pass across. Let me give you some of my experiences.

When I was in secondary school before GSM, anytime I dream and I see my mum in the dream, she visit the next day, and this became like I means of knowing the time she will come and visit, whenever I see her in my dream, It is certain she will be in my school the next day.

Whenever I dream and see snail, it means I will lack money and be very broke for that period.

Whenever I dream and see myself in a small room, it means I will be moving to a better job or place soon

Whenever I see people playing football with excitement everywhere or green grass it means a door is opening.

This is what I have experienced over time.

Of course they are some that do not relate, like I saw my late grand mother giving me FRSC employment letter, like 10 years ago, that never came to pass.

As for this your dream, if you believe in prayers kindly pray. Thanks

DICO111:
Hello Fam, good morning to you all.

I don't know if others experience this too or I'm alone on this one, most times when I sleep and dream, I wake in the morning without remembering the very important events or details of the dream.

But today, I had a dream where I was gathering snails and I woke up this morning remembering every detail of it plus feeling a little bit frightened and disturbed. I do not know what it means to be picking snails in the dream and why I woke up feeling disturbed hence the reason why I will like anyone with a proper interpretation of what it means to tell me because I think I need help here to decode this dream. (Mods to Fp please) thanks to everyone.

Career / Re: What Are The Qualifications For Applying For ACCA Or ICAN by femlex(m): 11:55am On Aug 21, 2018
Okay, this is great, the main usefulness of Nairaland is to share information, which this tread has done to those interested in choosing Accounting as a profession. I am a member of ICAN by choice. My intention (career path) is to grow and be successful in Nigeria, which I believe ICAN can make me achieve.
I have learnt a lot about ACCA on this tread, but based on my career objective, I still prefer ICAN, It is Nigerian, I am in Nigeria doing considerable well with no intention of travelling out. Ordinarily, with the adoption of IFRS by majority of the nations in the world, A good accountant with any professional body recognized under IFA, should be able hold his/her ground in any IFRS adopted country.
For me, other benefits I see with ICAN, include, association and mingling with a lot of professional accountant in Nigeria through Conferences and Seminars, being able to practice as professional accountant or Auditor sign sign financial report, and beside with ICAN, you can be a member of CIPFA, and just learnt, ICAEW without an exam. For me for now, this is enough for me to realize my career goal.
The summary of my post, is that, think of what you want to achieve as a person or as an accountant, then think of which path will give you satisfaction. Please pardon grammatical or typo errors. Thanks

I reside around Dutse/Kubwa, Abuja. I recharged #4900 few days ago and was given 196 units. but before I used to get like 200+ units for same price.

Well, I can't say it is not true, I bought that if 3000 2 days ago, and I got 58 unit, previously, 3000 gives a little above 100units,

I have not had the time to visit the Vendor for explanation, but with this post, I think it is not only me.

Before the end of next week, I believe more people will be aware of this and speak out. This is just fraud.

The simple fact is the military and a lot of other people are making money from the BH fight, it cannot just end easily.
The media too is not helping makers, during the last administration this is the kind of news that makes headline, but now they are not evening writing about it. It is just a shame.
But I will keep on praying for this country, no one can help us.
