1025:

if there is anyone on blackmail here, i think it is u. u and ur types keep condemning the few that speak for masses. even if Dino is doing what you claim here, do u know of any of his noises that was not true? he spoke during fuel subsidy and now the N5000 note. do u know of any normal nigerian that wants to buy fuel for N141? do u think what nigeria needs at this point in our lives is to waste N40B on printing a note that will aid these looters to loot us dry?
at this point, what nigerians are looking at are not those that will speak against Dino rather we need truthful men like u who will be different from dino in the fight to change things.
many paid labourers like you are only out to see the bad sides of those who voice out their problems but you don't seem to see anything wrong in our governance.
pls put urself in order and prove me wrong in what i just said and be ready to argue this topic with facts and figures because will be here to prove that u are nothing but a govt agent of distraction.
be assured that i for once do not know dino and i don't care about his school days.
before u respond, i would want you to look at the following characters;
1. labran maku - information minister
2. reuben abati - presidential spokesman
3. doyin okupe - information ministion

i will wait to hear from you.

wotz my biz with labaran, abati, and okupe, all i am against is d personality (DINO) involved in d fight for good goverance, or beta policies in the country, someone i no alot abt his antecedence...he is amongst one of the most corrupt and selfish politicians in Nig, hw can such a person shout for good goverannce..it is not abt his noise being true or not, it is wot he stands to gain thereafter..as a schemer, he keys into issues Nigerians will buy to gain support for his selfish gains...does it mean that during his tenure in office there was no bad policy, or degradation in the society, why didnt he cry out, why? becos he was part of the system and gainin also frm the system, acquiring cars, houses and exorbitant life style, with 'pay as u go' chicks. Now he can talk, right? there is nothing wrong in speakin up for the poor masses, but let it be frm a fellow Nigerian who hasnt delve into politics or beta stil has a clean hand..Not Dino.
Politics / Dino Melaye: Always Seeking Attention by Femzy24: 3:38pm On Sep 08, 2012
I have known Dino right from our days at ABU Zaria. We were quiet close because we shared a common ground – Student Unionism. Dino I know is not a particularly brilliant chap. But he used the opportunity that Aluta gave him to bulldoze his way through school. I have met few persons who know the game of blackmail like Dino. Dino is a schemer per excellence. Although he was not the SUG President, he used the student union to blackmail lecturers, while wining and dining with school management behind. I was not shocked though when this confused character found his way into the National Assembly. What appalled me the most is that Dino who we see daily pursuing contracts at government offices will come out and claim he is fighting the course of society. When l met DINO in Sahad Stores some time ago, I told him pointblank, oh boy when u go stop this your wururu, and this clown replied, If You no shout for naija hunger go kill you, abeg I no wan die. Then I realized that the leopard can never change its skin. Can this kind of deceptive character fight for the course of Nigerians in any way?

Politics / FG, Marketers In Fresh Spat Over Subsidy Claims by Femzy24: 7:39pm On Sep 04, 2012
The federal government and oil marketers are in a fresh row over payment of subsidy claims for imported petroleum products.

Government said it has paid additional N34.6 billion subsidy claims to some oil marketers as at August 22.

But a source at the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) told our reporters that members of the association have run out of stuck making fuel scarcity imminenet.

The source said MOMAN’s situation is worsened by the fact that it had stopped importing the product because the federal government has not paid his members their subsidy claims under the Petroleum Support Fund (PEF).

Government on its part said it has paid twenty-four companies to settle forty-three claims made for 2012, figures provided by Paul Nwabuikwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said. With this, the total subsidy claims for 2012 paid so far is N78.9 billion, a statement from Nwabuikwu said. He said this was in line with the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Finance to continue the payment of marketers whose papers have been processed and cleared.

Some claims made by marketers for 2011 and carried over to 2012 have also been paid bringing the total payments to N259.3 billion for both 2011 and 2012 subsidy claims.

The total number of companies that benefitted from the 2011-2012 payment is one hundred and twenty-one.

The Fuel marketers said they have run out of supply of petroleum products. A development that may plunge the nation into another round of fuel scarcity witnessed in the past.

But the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said yesterday that there is no cause for alarm over the fuel reserve in the country.

The acting spokesperson of the NNPC Dr. Omar Farouq said in an interview with Daily Trust that the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) has as at last Thursday 32 days sufficiency which excludes the vessels that discharged over the weekends.

However, a credible source close to MOMAN told Daily Trust that his six-members have very short supply of fuel. “Our members have very little supply of fuel as at yesterday (Monday) and this will soon be exhausted”.

Business / Find Out If You Are ADDICTED To Shopping!! by Femzy24: 11:48am On Aug 30, 2012
Is Your Shopping Out of Hand?

Shopping can be both a form of therapy or a kind of addiction. For a number of people, shopping provides an instant gratification. While there are people who like to go out on weekends as a form of stress reliever, there are others who derive comfort from purchasing. A small trinket at Occasion and Events Surulere, a new pair of shoes at Vespa, jewellery fresh from Kano, or even a new wardrobe: a small reward to yourself at the end of a long week might make you feel a bit better. You might tell yourself, ‘We are Nigerians , we don’t experience ‘that kind of thing’, but is your budget suddenly tighter? Is shopping a habit that is starting to get out of hand?

Habit vs Addiction

There is a fine line that separates these two. Just because you enjoy doing something repeatedly does not necessarily mean that it is an addiction. For example, if you like getting great online shopping deals and purchase items that are marked down, you’re probably just into shopping for bargains. However, if your spending is out of hand to the point of debt, and you find that you are owing colleagues at the office ridiculous sums of money then you may have a problem. As with any addiction, real shopaholics often feel that their shopping habits are beyond control and they cannot stop themselves. It becomes their go-to coping mechanism. So instead of dealing with a problem directly, shopaholics have the urge to buy as a way of managing stress.

Ask yourself these

As soon as I have money, do I immediately go shopping?
Do I shop if I feel sad, stressed, or bored?
Is there something inside of me pushing me to buy something?
Do I have strong feelings of guilt and/or regret after I purchase something?
I hide things I have bought for fear of being judged for my spending habits.
Do I feel a pull whenever I pass popular markets or a fear that new clothes are passing you by?
Do I feel that a perfect way to spend Saturdays is to visit a ‘few’ fairs where I can ‘pick up a thing or two’?
If you answered “yes” to most of these questions, you probably have a shopping problem. Don’t worry, though: full-blown shopping addiction is quite rare as only 1%-2% out of 100 people have it.

with self discipline, you can prevent this...nice day

Career / Why You Need A Career Mentor In Nigeria by Femzy24: 11:22am On Aug 30, 2012
With the cut-throat competition in the Nigerian labour market, it is not uncommon to hear statements like “you can’t get a job in Nigeria without knowing someone”. In recent times however, with the explosion of technology, the internet and social media, more and more people of the younger generation are daring this notion by taking charge of their careers and doing impressive things all on their own. In light of this, a career mentor has never been more important as they not only guide a mentee through their chosen career path, but also help them fulfill their career goals. It is noteworthy to state that a career mentor is not merely someone who just hands out cash/kind favours to their mentee. Rather, a career mentor is someone who provides support, counsel and lays constructive examples to their mentee in order to enable them reach their career and life goals. So are you looking to tow a particular career path? Or perhaps you’re already on a path but sometimes find yourself feeling a little lost, then here’s why you need to get a career mentor in Nigeria:

Advice: haven walked the walk and talked the talk, a career mentor through years of experience is in a great position to offer advice and constructive examples which will serve to help you both as a novice starting out a career and also guide you while moving up through the ranks as you take important decisions in the course of your career.

Support: a career mentor provides both financial and moral support for their mentees; helping with job search/promotions, introductions to relevant contacts in your field and insights to available career opportunities are some of the ways through which a career mentor could provide support to your career in Nigeria.

Career Goals: also importantly, career mentors go a long way in helping to define the career goals of their mentees through counsel spurn from years of first-hand experience. In addition, through the fulfillment of expectations of their mentors, the accountability of mentees are greatly improved.

Travel / Nigeria Gets US Visa Priority Attention With Brazil & China by Femzy24: 6:56pm On Aug 29, 2012
U.S Visa: Nigeria, Brazil, China To Get Priority Attention

The United States has listed Nigeria, Brazil and China as priority nations on its visa application following a surge in consular demands, a consular officer, Mrs. Patty Neary, said on Wednesday.

Neary told journalists in Abuja at the country’s Embassy weekly briefing that more than 40,000 visa applications had so far been processed in Nigeria this year.

She said that the figure represented 11 per cent increase over the 2011 fiscal year.
Neary said 75 per cent of the applications were for tourist visas, while 25 per cent accounted for student, business and official visas.

She said that a majority of the applicants were granted visas.

The consular officer warned applicants against patronising touts and expressed the Embassy’s commitment to continue to provide consular services to Nigerians, and reduce the wait time.

``You do not need to go through anybody to help you with visa application. By doing it personally, you will aid us to push away touts; you should make your own appointment and fill out the forms yourself.

``You are responsible for everything in your application,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria quoted Neary as saying at the briefing.
According to her, aside the 160 dollars payment for tourist visa, no extra money is charged.

Neary advised applicants to plan ahead while preparing for a trip, in view of the six months wait time to process visa.
She also urged students to apply 120 days before the beginning of their studies.

``Our goal is that every qualified student visa applicant is able to begin his or her programme of study on time,’’ the consular officer said.

Romance / Relationship: Develop Your Own Rules.. by Femzy24: 3:28pm On Aug 29, 2012
We would all agree that when it comes to issues on relationships, ‘everybody knows but nobody really knows.’ Relationship issues always seem to sprout up the ‘counsellor or coach’ in everyone. Whenever an issue on relationship is raised, everyone has something to say, an advice or caution to give, and a story to tell. Isn’t it amazing? Amazing how a single issue raises up dust, practically turning everyone into an authority in their own rights.
Everywhere we go, and everywhere we turn, we see quotes on love and relationship. We are bombarded with rules: the does and don’ts, and the pros and cons. But they work, you say. Really? Do they? Do they apply to everyone? Do these rules apply at all times?
In law, I was taught that there is always an exception to the general rule. With this in mind I say, never base or judge your relationship on these relationship rules, quotes, and clichés you see frequently. We all are different. Coming from different backgrounds, with different life lessons which had shaped our different perceptions and outlook on life, and consequently, relationships. So, these rules can’t apply to everyone.
What works for x, will not necessarily work for y and z. Nothing, and nobody, is a standard authority on love or relationship. So begin every relationship with an open mind and heart. Explore and find out what works for you in your relationship, don’t venture into one with a big book of rules. Overtime I have realised that, no matter how much you know, or think you know, it is never enough. People change. So what happens to your rules when your friend or spouse changes?
For me, it is a school, in which we are constantly learning, changing, and growing. There is saying on relationship I love, it reads “We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It’s a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person.” I guess that says it all.
Now you ask, are you saying that we throw caution to the wind, and accept anything and everything in our relationships, in the name of change? Good or bad, right or wrong? No. I am saying ‘make your own rules.’ Healthy, happy and self-made relationship rules. Never compare your relationship with someone else’s. What works for them ‘may’ not work for you. Ever heard the Mexican saying, “What cures Sancho makes Martha sick.”?
Again, you ask, so do we refrain from reading books on relationship? Is everything out there wrong? Hell, no. Do read. Some of them are great, and are written by amazing authors. Personally, I love any and every book written by Michelle Mckinney Hammond. She’s an awesome writer. And I recommend her books for every woman. Men, too. If you’re interested. So, read, listen, learn, make and apply whatever works for you, and build strong, healthy and happy relationships.
Wot do you guys think?

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday lauded the efforts by security agents to check terrorists and their activities in the country.

``The security agents have put in a lot so far toward checking the activities of the terrorists, government will continue to support and encourage them to do more for Nigeria,’’ he said in Jos.

Jonathan spoke while declaring open a three-day ``Eminent Persons and Expert Groups Meeting’’ toward ending insurgencies, holding at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos.
