Jobs/Vacancies / Off Oshomole's Gift To Ex-milad by festty: 2:42pm On Sep 03, 2009
I have read so many replies from fellow contributors to this topic. Overall, many of us are still far away from the new trend sweeping through the whole world: CHANGE. Many people still do not see anything wrong with what the Gov has done. To them, it is necessary if he must return to office for second term. The egos of the powerbrokers in the state must be massaged, like angry gods/goddesses; they must be appeased and pampered to spoil. This cannot continue. There must be a time when those at the receiving end; the people, to stand up in one voice to say they are fed up of the way it used to be, the way it has been, the status quo. And even if you are benefiting from the rot, better to keep mute than to inflate the obviously punctured balloon of support. As for the Edo State Gov, he is an embodiment of betrayal. Like the proverbial shegoat who gave birth to amale against the hope and aspirations of the owner who expected afemale, he has dashed our hopes. The world was agog during his historic swearing-in. The people of Nigeria at home and abroad hoped the messiah had come. Edo state was expected to change drastically from the rot he met it. Since taking office not much has been done, the city still wears it old look, unemployment is on the rise, youths find solace in crimes, daylight robbery, kidnapping of innocent people like medical doctors, bad roads, etc. The state has not change. And it doesn’t take long to effect good changes when a leader has a blueprint of what to do. With his antecedents we thought he would be a possible contender for the presidency when the much-expected electoral reform is done to create level playing ground for everybody who is eligible to hold the office. Oshomole should know that he does not need the blessing of any godthiefs to become a Gov in second term. This fact is what brought him to office. Acting otherwise is cowardly, fearing the nonexistent factors. What he needs is to imprint his name on our minds by giant achievements. He needs easy references of how Edo state was developed during his first term.

Unlike his counterpart in Lagos, Gov Fashola does not need any endorsement from anybody. His works are there for all to see. Anybody who wants to rule Lagos in the next dispensation must tell Lagosian what he can do better than Gov Fashola.
Luckily for Oshomole, he is still in office. He should begin to right the many wrongs under his nose. He should also know that the people of Edo state are keenly waiting to see the old Oshomole. They are getting tired of the new Oshomole. For the intellectuals, efforts must be made to force the corrupt public officials to change their ways. This can be achieved by continuously condemning their acts in writing through any available means like nairaland plus others.

Jobs/Vacancies / Uba Recruitment by festty: 5:17pm On Jan 28, 2008
Pls guys does anyone know something about UBA recruitment procedure?I was called for interview on the 21st of last December '07 and its seems i was the only one or maybe two of us that did the test that same year ie '07, all other invitees wrote the test in 2006.According to them, its was their 3rd and possibly the last, we had thought, and of course they have been called for training after this.while mine was the second as I had the first interview in July same year,I was not called for this training. What do you think guys? The answer to the questuion is right in what I have written, you may say. But there could be other dimensions/angles.
