On Thursday 21st November, 2024 Hon. Augustine Beguwa a kind personality and a humanitarian received the HUMANITARIAN ICON Award presented to him by AFRICA YOUNG LEADERS UNIVERSE. The award was given to him as a recognition for his SELFLESS SERVICE, and HUMANITARIAN work in SOUTHERN KADUNA. A BRIEF CITATION ABOUT HIM BELOW Hon. Augustine Beguwa, from the Numana tribe, was born on August 15, 1969, in Hayin Arak, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, into the Christian family of the late Beguwa Arak. An outstanding scholar, he earned his Primary School Certificate from LEA Arak in 1982 and graduated as the best student in Commerce from Godogodo Secondary School in 1986. He furthered his education with an Advanced NABTEB in 2009, a National Diploma from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Ondo State, in 2009, and a B.Sc. in 2017. Hon. Beguwa is currently awaiting his M.Sc. from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. PROFESSIONAL CAREER Hon. Beguwa joined the Nigerian Immigration Service in 1988, serving diligently for 35 years across various units, including expatriate quotas, resident permits, and travel documents. His expertise also earned him consulting roles with private companies during his service. Rising through the ranks, he became a respected leader within the organization, known for his humility and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Hon. Beguwa’s dedication to his community is evident in his numerous humanitarian projects and political sponsorships. His notable contributions include: >Electrification completion of the Kogum River. >Installation of solar street lights in three communities in Sanga and one in Jema’a LGAs. >Renovation of a community town hall, now nearing completion. >Financial and logistical support for citizens and local political candidates - such as vehicles, motorcycles, and a house. POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS Hon. Beguwa’s political journey began with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where he demonstrated his commitment by donating campaign vehicles and resources, including branded vehicles for gubernatorial candidate Hon. Isah Ashiru. After transitioning to the All Progressives Congress (APC), he continued his support for grassroots development, donating campaign offices and materials to key candidates in Jema’a and Sanga LGAs. LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP As a humanitarian and visionary leader, Hon. Beguwa has been instrumental in fostering progress across Southern Kaduna. His dedication to community service and empowerment has left a lasting impact, earning him the admiration of his peers and constituents alike. Famous Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninalowo has revealed why he supported his daughter to pierce her navel. The actor made the disclosure while speaking about his bond with his daughter, Aliyah. Ninalowo in an interview with VJ Adams, said his 18-year-old daughter, Aliyah had asked to pierce her tongue but he felt uneasy about the tongue choice. In a now-viral video, the actor explained that he allowed her to pierce her navel because he wanted to bond with her. Noting that a navel ring can be taken out at any time. Demonstrating his support, Ninalowo stated that he personally drove her to get her navel pierced and also paid for the procedure. Video: Check comment section

Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state. He was returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission after winning the governorship poll in all 18 Local Government Areas of the state. Ayedatiwa, who won in Ese Odo Local Government Area in the last LG result presented on Sunday at the State Collation Centre in Akure, had previously won in the 17 LGs earlier announced. In the final declaration of the result by the State Returning Officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwumi, he said the All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Ayedatiwa polled in total of 366,781 votes to defeat Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 117,845 votes.
