Politics / EXCLUSIVE NEWS: Aftermath Of Baba Ijebu's Withdrawal From Funding, Ladi Adebutu by Fijoboy: 9:54pm On May 03, 2018
* Supporters of Ladi Adebutu have been caught unawares by the sudden exit to unknown destination by the Guber aspirant. This, it was gathered might have put paid to the aspiration of the Remo born politician.

* This was aftermath of the decision by his father to withdraw funding from his guber project.

* Gathered that Ladi walked away from the presence of his father two weeks ago at a meeting in Iperu.

* Crux of their disagreement was that Ladi was begging the father to give him N20 billion to prosecute his campaign, but rumour has it that some of his siblings protested this arrangement, saying that, though Ladi was the first child he has not contributed anything to the growth of the family's fortunes and businesses, rather he has been the greatest beneficiary, and most of the wealth which accrued to him he squandered on women of easy virtues and drinking. Some members of the family were of the opinion that Ladi is using the politics to swindle the father as he spend only 20% of what was made available to him on politics while the bulk of money that come to him goes into financing some of his reckless habits.

* Matters got to a head 2 weeks ago when the father allegedly called a meeting between Ladi and some of his political associates to discuss funding the election campaigns and how to ensure prudence and accountability, as Ladi was said to have insisted the father should hand over the family estate to him as the first child and he knows how to fund his own campaigns. This was said to have infuriated the old man, who said, coming from Ladi's background he can not entrust all the wealth and patrimony belonging to all his siblings in his care. This, according to sources angered Ladi and he stormed out of the father's presence fuming and cursing, saying he can fund his own campaigns by himself even without the father's wealth.

* Meanwhile, after funding two more rallies since he called the father's bluff, close associates of Ladi said he has started feeling the economic impact of the withdrawal of funds. And has therefore stopped all forms of political activities including rallies and secretly jet out of the country.

* A very close associate of the member of House of Reps claim he travelled on his medicals, while another offered that he went in search of money to dispose of some of his properties in Dubai and Malta, but added that only on condition if he could get fast and good buy for them will he come back to Nigeria. Failure which he will quietly jettison the aspiration.

* Some of Ladi's associates, including factional chairman of the PDP in the state, Sikirulai Ogundele and the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Yemi Akinwonmi are said to be the most worried, and they are said to have been sending secret messages to two time guber candidate of the party, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka not to leave the party so that the ticket can be given to him without stress in the event that Ladi Adebutu finally abandons the project.

Politics / EXCLUSIVE: Ladi Adebutu, Buruji Kasamu at War. The Untold Story by Fijoboy: 12:45pm On Apr 02, 2018
That the son of Lotto Merchant, Sir Kensington Adebutu and member House of Reps, Ladi Adebutu and Senator representing the Ogun East Senatorial district are at war is no longer news. The duo have been at each others neck for quite some timeshortly after the young Adebutu had secured the ticket to represent the people of the Remo Federa constituency at the lower chambers in Abuja from Kasamu who was then in control of the party structure in Ogun State.

Grapevine sources however squealed that while many people think the differences between the two top politicians have to do with politics, they are both at each other's neck for financial deals gone awry. Both were said to have a greater eyes on the estate and finacial resources of the lotto merchant and philanthropist.

It was gathered that the younger Adebutu, who for many years was estranged from his father due to reckless conduct, drinking, womanising and reckless smoking habits allegedly made attempts several attempts on the life of his father before being reconciled and rehabilitated with him not quite long ago. This, unsubstantiated sources claimed accounted why, Lado, as he is popularly called among his political associates might have been scheming to take greater slices of the father's estate for fear that he might be excluded from the old man's will.

Rumour has it that Ladi felt his younger siblings had access to the father's estate during his travails and conflict with the father, and by going into politics, he could take a larger slice to cover up for the lost years. And this, it was gathered was where the war between him and Kasamu started.

According to close political sources, to give Ladi Adebutu ticket to contest for the House of Reps in 2015, Buruji Kasamu had requested for some payments running into hundreds of millions of naira. A deal the elder Adebutu was ready to part with, if at least that could assist his son to secure the ticket on the platform of the PDP.

Since that singular deal however, Ladi Adebutu, it was alleged felt every he must take a cut from every financial transaction with his father, as long he hears about them. Tales have been told of how the younger Adebutu will corner his father's contractors to demand for his own cut from any business deals. Buruji Kasamu, it was said could not stand this exploitation, especially as he felt he was the one doing the younger Adebutu a favour and not the other way round.

Apart from that, strongman of Ijebu Igbo politics feels Ladi Adebutu is far too low to him in intelligence to dictate terms of engagement in any relationship.

According to those who are close to Ogun State politics, Senator Kasamu consider it a great insult to be compared to Ladi Adebutu on any matter. He boaats to his associates that the young Adebutu "should be grateful to him because he was the one God used to rehabilitate him, reconciled him with his father and even dressed him up for public appearance and acceptance".

One of the politicians close to Kasamu revealed that "contrary to the general perception out there, Ladi Adebutu is not in politics to win any election, he is using politics to make money from his father and his other siblings. To him, politics is his secret way of taking more than his own fair share of his inheritance and control the larger share of his father's estate. And that is why we always pity those who are following him; as far as Ladi is concerned they are just mere tools and crowd for his own economic prosperity. He collects something like one hundred million naira from his father, and throws twenty million naira around in piecemeal to his followers and divert some onto his farm and others into some yet to be disclosed ventures."

The source further revealed that was the start of his battle with Kasamu who consider himself superior to Lado in every way possible. He was quoted to have informed some of his supporters that it is insulting to compare Ladi "who had never earned any money, nor start any business of his own in his entire life, except living off his father's investment, many of which he does not even contribute anything to it's growth to himself (Kasamau) who rose from scratch to building his own billions through personal efforts."
