Ilamina: Sorry if you felt Like I support him, I dont. What I meant to say is, you could write with more composure. If you feel that he is a threat to your life, you could you could report to the nearest police station. Or tell a relative who has influence, Uncles or Auntie. Finally if you really want to lie to him. Then tell him you have AIDs. |

Politics / NEMA: Presidency Speaks On Osinbajo Committing N5.8bn Alleged Fraud by finiteen: 12:08am On Nov 16, 2018 |
The Presidency has said Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, did no wrong in his last year’s approval of the sum of N5.8bn fund for the supply of food to about 1.8 million internally displaced persons, IDPs, without the knowledge of the national assembly. Laolu Akande, the Special Adviser to the Vice President, stated this on Wednesday when he appeared as a guest on Channels TV’s political programme, Politics Today, in Abuja. The House of Representatives had in a report accused Osinbajo of illegally approving the release of the fund from the Consolidated Revenue Fund Account to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for food that were not supplied. However, Akande in declaring his principal innocent of the alleged crime, explained that at the time the VP gave the approval, the nation was facing a looming food crisis and there was need for the executive to act fast. He further said that during emergency situations, the Public Procurement Act supported such executive approval for fund without necessarily going through legislative vetting. He said: “The VP was Acting President when this matter happened. He had the full compliments of power to approve the fund meant for an emergency situation. “Before the fund (N5.8bn) was approved, the World Food Programme and some international food agencies came up with a report that says their own funding was declining and there was going to be a shortfallof about 85 percent in the food supply to about 1.8 million IDPs. “So, it was an impending food security challenge and we had to act fast and promptly. “The Acting President constituted a presidential committee that had the Minister of Finance, the (senior) Minister and Minister of state for Budget and National Planning, the CBN governor, and quite a few other relevant agencies to develop a plan to avert the impending disaster. It was an emergency situation. “Under the Public Procurement Act, there is a provision for such emergency spending. So, it is within the powers vested on the executive that was exercise by the then Acting President, in this case, to make the approval.” On the infractions allegedly committed by the then Acting President in ordering the drawing of the approved funds from the nation’s consolidated revenue, Akande said: “If you want details of where the money was sourced from, when it was done, and who did it, the Finance Minister can give a detailed information about that. “The issue here is that the VP as Acting President had the authority to approve the money in that (emergency) circumstance, and clearly, within our laws. Nobody can question that; and that is the fact of the matter.”

Nairaland / General / This Is Probably The Best Comment In Defense Of IPOB I Have Read. by finiteen: 12:15am On Oct 23, 2018 |
Henry Igwe ogudimkpa wrotes I had to come back. My respect for Nnamdi Kanu just quadrupled. You know why? This broadcast was a trap from many gullible people to tag him a "liar" and haul all incentives on him. I'm most humbled by his honesty on the events that transpired in his home. He didn't beat around the bush by trying to say "He was kidnapped", rather he gave credit to "IPOB intelligence BSS" for evacuating him from the compound. This is honesty! From what he said, he was obviously in that compound when the military came to silence him. He also said he sustained injuries in the course of his escape, and this is really sad. To show how dangerous the mind of an average black man is, nobody is concerned about the military invasion. They're more concerned that a man who went through such ordeal would toll their line and ask his followers to Vote. People of no conscience! Again, his no election stance predates Buhari. I remember him vividly chanting on "No election" in 2015 even when GEJ was in power. His consistency is what makes him unique. Many have been disappointed that he didn't throw his weight behind any Politician, some have accused him of working for APC which is laughable while they forgot to be truthful to themselves that "Election boycott" has being the front runner of IPOB. This shows how inconsistent the brain of a Nigerian is. So they expect him to cancel the boycott so they will bring out all the allegations on earth against him that he's been paid off. He disappointed them. He even sighted the under age vote in the north, yet people who say they've sane conscience expect IPOB to vote in such charade elections. Shaking my head. The Nnamdi Kanu that spoke tonight was a confident one that has the backing of world powers. He mentioned names. He specially thanked Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and wished him a Happy Birthday. He said he owe his survival to the state of Israel. He also thanked the US govt for their support. This Is MASSIVE! He also specially thanked his sureties. He thanked those that backed him. This entails the quality of a good leader. He gave his Salute to the 28 men that fell defending him and made sure he live. This brought me to tears. Fact is, those who cry are doing so at their own peril. We wouldn't even be having this discussion of Re-structuring if not for his presence. Didn't he warn you all about Buhari? Face your monster and find out ways to vote him out. IPOB is not your problem. If you believe IPOB doesn't count, why bother? Finally, the Fearless Leader reteiriated his stand that "He's fully back and coming back with hell". This is bold! More reason Nigeria should be wary of his second coming. God bless Nnamdi Kanu. Leader like no other. |
