Sports / Re: Barca Vs PSG ; Was The Match Fixed? by Fish1403: 1:09pm On Mar 09, 2017
I'm by no means a PSG fan, but yes, I believe the match was fixed. I watched both legs, and PSG were deserved 4-0 winners in Paris, and whilst Barcelona were superior in the second leg, they didn't deserve to win by six goals to one, and the 6-1 scoreline didn't do PSG justice. Barcelona were desevedly 2-0 up at half time, but their third goal shouldn't have counted. Meunier slipped over in his own penalty area, and I believe it was Neymar who saw that he'd fell to the ground, and knocked the ball around him before intentionally falling over Meunier's shoulders, which the referee gave a penalty for, despite Neymar taking a dive and Meunier not even making a malicious challenge, and a yellow card should have been given to Neymar for simulation as oppose to Barcelona receiving a penalty. Cavani then scored for PSG, and his side started to take control of the game. Then in the 89th minute Neymar scored a free kick, which, to be fair, was world-class. However, in stoppage time the referee gave Barcelona ANOTHER penalty, and once again it shouldn't have been awarded, because Luis Suarez took an obvious dive in the penalty area, as his marker Marquinos barely made contact and didn't even make a challenge. The referee should have booked Suarez for simulation, yet instead he once again gifted Barcelona an unjust penalty. The fourth official gave 5 minutes of added time, yet the referee kept the game going beyond this, and despite the PSG players calling for the referee to blow the whistle he kept the game going, as if he intended to keep playing until Barcelona scored again. And would you believe it, in the 96th minute Barcelona score, and immediately afterwards the referee just so happens to blow the whistle. The whole thing was a joke!! The referee gave Barcelona 3 goals that shouldn't have counted, and I'm 100% certain that Barcelona paid the referee to throw the game in their direction. Last night was a dark night in football history, because it represented everything that's wrong with the game, and Barcelona's place in the quarter finals of the Champions League is more down to the money they have and the power that it has over referees and UEFA than their actual ability on the football pitch. I mean, I've always admired Barcelona for their players and their style of play and their philosophy as a football club, but I lost a lot of respect for them last night because I thought they were above match fixing and corruption, and they proved that their position and their power in this game is more important to them than the foundation of the game itself. Like I say, I'm by no means a PSG fan, but what happened to them last night was wrong in every sense of the word. They were screwed!! I genuinely hope that Barcelona are drawn against a powerhouse team like Juventus or Bayern in the next round and get absolutely BATTERED in both legs. To be honest I don't mind who wins the Champions League, so long as it isn't Real Madrid or Barcelona. Bleep the system!! ✊✊
