Seyibusayo: Preschool is different, I work according to age. Also thanks to mummy Zaynie chart and her teacher thread. I always ask my daughter what happened in school anytime she comes back. Sometimes when I don't understand what she's saying, I ask her teacher the next day in school. The only time I teach my DD when school was open was her assignment, I kukuma no get strength. Make school just resume, her brother is joining her lasan. Rona brought out the teacher in me. Anything that works for any parents is non of my biz. I believe they're doing their own best in their own way. |

Pearl05: Thank you for this. Especially PPID, it's hardly discussed during antenatal classes. All the matron or nurses talk about is EBF and cleaning of tips. I went through PPID with my first, I always cry over any tiny little things, I watched my daughter cry, their uncontrollable cries. Nobody was there with me. My aunt that came for ọmụgwọ went to visit her sister and slept over there for 2days, hubby travelled. I had fever that week. I cried when bm wasn't flowing well, she was 2m then, hubby wasn't helping out, he was busy singing EBF to my ear. I felt like a failure. I finally bought milk which her Royal highness rejected. Dunno how I overcomed it but I did. ****************** When my brother was sick, I saw a woman that was in the hospital with her newborn. She was talking to her self. Her baby was crying but she was lost in self discussion. It was her sister who was with her that tapped her when she came in and handed over the baby to her. She looked at him and started crying. According to her sister, her husband died 2wks after she gave birth, it affected her psychological. The normal African moonlight tales of the woman killing him brouhaha. So she's staying with her parents but they took her to the hospital when it was much. ********** Postpartum depression is real. It includes : * Depressed mood or severe mood swings * Excessive crying * Difficulty bonding with your baby * Withdrawing from family and friends * Loss of appetite or eating much more than usual * Inability to sleep (insomnia) or sleeping too much * Overwhelming fatigue or loss of energy * Reduced interest and pleasure in activities you used to enjoy * Intense irritability and anger * Fear that you're not a good mother * Feelings of worthlessness, shame, guilt or inadequacy * Diminished ability to think clearly, concentrate or make decisions * Severe anxiety and panic attacks * Thoughts of harming yourself or your baby * Recurrent thoughts of death or suicide 28 Likes 2 Shares |

Once in a while, we should discuss/talk about Jaundice in babies, preterm, how to take care of babies, how to take care of ourselves before/after childbirth, cleaning of the tips, inverted tips, PPID (postpartum depression), breast-feeding etc What happened to prayer Monday, bumpy Tuesday, thread cuties Thursday even talking about our most embarrassing day while pregnant etc. It'll make the thread lively too 26 Likes |

Awesomemama:Awwn, he's even doing well for his age. When my DD was that age, all we can write was 1-10 with 1 in America, 2 in Jamaica and 5/6 facing back. I didn't bother oo, we still high-five ✋ like that. All I was interested in was her communication skills, number recognition, basic things like keeping brush/dirty clothes well, saying thank you after eating etc. She repeated KG1, I wasn't even bothered. Zaynie will know better, I'm not a preschool teacher. 2 Likes 1 Share |

zimunachimdi: Is well. I'm not really in support of private lessons especially the one that involves the child going over to the teacher's house. Not in this covid-19 brouhaha. All the best sis 1 Like |

zimunachimdi:School won't give you the curriculum, I got mine from her teacher cos I'm close to her and have taught her daughter in grade 5. Join the school online WhatsApp group, download the videos. Call his teacher when is hard for you, he/she will guide you on how to get it right. When he counts from 1-9 10 should be 1 and 0 -----10 1 and 1 ------ 11 etc 2 and 0 -------- 20 When he forget anyone, tell him. When he forgets again, tell him to start from the beginning. After breakfast, tell him lesson time and no play play is allowed. We learn from 9-12. I'll prepare lunch but give her what to write to keep her busy, eat around 1:30. Start from 2-3pm. 7 Likes 1 Share |

zimunachimdi:Thanks Concerning what you wrote in your last update. Every child is different, continue teaching your son, he'll pick up. Have you ever seen someone that can't count 1-100 My 2yrs boy can't say mummy yet, he can say take, pine(fine), 1,and he just started saying daddy this month. I'm not bothered, he'll pick up when he's ready. So don't disturb Adanne biko, she can even scatter 1-10 My 4yrs old daughter is totally different, her love for book eh. Sometimes she'll arrange empty chairs, bring cane, books and pencil and act like a teacher. I got their curriculum from the school and I'm using it to teach her. She knows what is even and odd numbers, Nigerian Flag, colours, Transportation, One-Ten(with correct spelling), count 1-100, shapes, vowels, two lettered words(she refused to learn it with sound) etc. Everyday, we repeat what we learnt before. I give her example, I high-five ✋ her, I promise her things, sometimes I beat with hands when the light comes and she wants to watch cartoon or maybe when she sees her father and want to do stubborn head. I don't use cane while teaching cos I don't know how to flog age appropriate ![]() It can be stressful but the end result is wonderful. I hail preschool teachers, they're the real mvp 15 Likes 1 Share

Yesterday I wasn't feeling great, I kept having tightening of the stomach, I bet is not braxton hicks. It comes, goes, comes again and finally it stopped. Last night I drank cornflakes with my children, I didn't take much although I made it for myself but they won't allow me to shine. In the night, the tightening worsened, stomach pain, headache and nausea. I kept turning from one side to another but yet I wasn't comfortable. I rushed to the bathroom, vomiting and pooping at the same time. The vomit has a very very bitter taste, when I tried forcing out the vomit, I felt something come out from my HP, I checked it was clear, large amount of MP, I started crying and begged baby to please wait till next month cos we're just 34weeks gone. I drank 5 satchel water at a go, dunno how I did it but I did it. Went for scan, was told baby is fine, cervix closed. Doc told me is probably what I ate that caused it. I still feel weak tho but I know it'll end in praise. 20 Likes |

Lisa001:Just read this on family section but not the same handle. Are you the same person with the moniker(Tracy) that posted it on family section or trolling? Well, when it comes to family matters, I hardly give advice. You know what is best for your child tho. Breast milk is good for your child. 2 Likes |
