How can someone who was denied in December 2021 (over six months ago) schedule a new appointment date.


The two options showing are

- Previously refused: Visa denied in the last 6 months
- Regular : Visa not refused in the last 12 months.

If I choose the first one, it says "there are currently no appointment dates available"

Not sure if I should choose the second option since the denial is still within 12 months.

Please which do I choose?

You'd have to fill a new DS-160, and complete another visa application.

I am trying to apply for Vetasses assesment but I'm not sure of how to go about the transcript part.

Please if I have a soft copy of my transcript, can I upload it in my application or would my school send it ro them directly?

Can one apply for a surge at lagos even though he was initially scheduled for Abuja and the DS-160 is also Abuja?

I'm not sure. Someone else maybe able to answer that better.

By default, I think all ea applications through cgi are being refused but if you apply for surge dates via email you will likely get a date

Apply for the surge date by sending ds160 confirmation page, i20, sevis fee reciept, Visa fee reciept and biodata page of passport via email.

Here's the email for Lagos:

Send a mail to LagosStudents@state.gov and attach all the necessary documents

For Abuja, please read this thread, you'll find it somewhere.

Yes that is acceptable. That is what I did. Go with both confirmation pages and showed them the latest one for your interview.

Hi Guys,
I've applied for EA via both email (lagos) and CGI since 24th of November but I haven't gotten a response apart from the acknowledgement email I recieved on the same day.

Pls is this normal?
Is anyone in the house still expecting the embassy's response since the 24th?

Just want to know if I should send another email with same attachments

Deficit is the difference between total tuition costs and how much of it is waived by scholarships or fellowships. In other words, how much tuition costs you have left to pay.

Since your wife has a GA that covers everything plus stipend, deficit does not apply to her.

I have been seeing the term 'deficit' in some Visa interview transcripts and I'll appreciate an explanation on what it means or in which type case it applies?

My wife has admission and also got a Graduate Assistantship that takes care of her full tuition and also includes a monthly stipend.
Please I'll like to know if this 'deficit' term apply to her?
i.e. What accounts for the deficit? Does it mean living expenses?

Lastly, since her tuition is taken care of by the GA, would she still need to show proof of funds?

Your expertise and knowledge will be much appreciated.

Planning to enter the pool for early June draw, My wife is principal applicant. While her ECA should be ready by then because courier has confirmed delivery of her transcript to IAS since 24th of April, my own ECA is likely not going to be ready by then, due to delay from School in sending transcript, though I have my IELTS scores already.


I simply want to know if it is possible for a principal applicant to enter the pool with spouse but without spouses ECA and what the implications are.

I have checked her CRS score implication (without my ECA) and she should still be able to make the current trend in ITA draws.

Also, if she enters the pool and does not make ITA can we update her profile with my ECA for the next draw.

Just want to take advantage of these low scores.

I sent a single fax of 10 pages. The myfax.com site allows up to 10pages (including the cover page). As per expedited shipping, it varies from school to school. If your school supports it, please just use it so that the transcript(s) can get to IQAS quickly otherwise, you are still good with the regular mail (just that it might take a bit longer to get to IQAS 'cos of NIPOST)

I want to confirm if my assumption is right. Here...

The POF, Police Report, Letter from employer, medicals will not be required until after one receives an ITA.
In other words, do I need the above docs before entering the pool?

Will appreciate your usual timely response.

1. photocopies of my degree certificates,
2. biodata page of passport,
3. signed printout of the application request form,
4. filled copy of the application checklist form, and
5. printout of the purchase receipt for the evaluation

based on the info that I've seen in the thread, that most free online fax service don't allow more than 5 pages, is it ok to assume that you sent all stated docs in two separate fax messages?

Also, is it ok to use the mailing system that Naija schools use to send transcripts ok? or should one consider using speed mail ups, fedex or dhl ( I really do not know what Naija schools use)

My assumption is that once you make payment, you then fill the request form... send to school... include clear copy of certificate & other required docs... then school sends to Iqas.
