In the spirit of the Muslim holidays, I bring to you my new favorite fragrance and the best Arabian-esq fragrance I have smelt in my life. It screams wealth and prestige *aramis move overrr*


So, Marquis de Sade histoires de pafums 1740 what do I have to say about this. Let me take you guys back to how I discovered this.
My perfume supplier called me up and was like heyy have you heard of histoires de pafume? Obviously I did but it wasn't a fragrance house I thought much off.
Anyways I went to her store and she hooked me up with a bottle which set me back 25k for something I had to blind buy (haven't smelt or used).
I took it home and kept it for about a week, scared to open it because of the amount of money I spent on it. Hehehe
I eventually summed up courage to take it out on a Friday and shot a few sprays on the nape of my neck and fore arm.. With a white kaftan on of course.
Went to the bank and literally everyone stopped and stared... While checking myself if i peed or i had an oil stain in my shirt or something, Someone summed up the courage to come and ask me what I was wearing.
That was just one of many occasions that happened when I wore this. Even the mrs had to take a few shots of this on her scarf. Tells you how great this is.
Back to the fragrance .
1740 represents the birth year of a Parisian gentleman, named Donatien-Alphonse-François, famous as the Marquis de Sade. Imprisoned many times by his licentious morals, this would undoubtedly have enjoyed this spicy woody perfume, an invitation to pleasure.

At first whiff you get bergamot and davana sensualis. Then after a few hours You start smelling patchouli coriander and cardamom. Dry down: cedar, elemi, leather and labdanum.

It is available as 120 ml EDP. 1740 Marquis de Sade was launched in 2000.

It lasts for 16 hours on my skin, excellent sillage(scent trail) it should be worn with the right attire... To really bring it out. Eg suits, kaftan you know cooperate wears.
Best worn to;
* high class events eg weddings, cooperate gatherings... Just anything prestigious.

Girlfriends choices.. Blind sniff fragrance review



Hey fragheads... Today's review is totally fresh as you can see..lol so the Mrs came over for the weekend and I decided to do a blind fragrance sniff test on her. I randomly selected 10 fragrances from my collection, some I have reviewed and some I have not... It has been scientifically proven that  women respond more to scents and sounds than us men. We respond more to things we see. 
So here's how the test went..I put a blind fold over her eyes so I could get her unbiased opinion on the fragrances. Because obviously more expensive brands might sway her opinion a little. So check it out and tell me what you think. 


1 Ysl la nuit de l'homme.... She thought  the fragrance was nothing out of the ordinary, but very mature
smelt musky, Too harsh for hotter climates, for someone in he's 30's.  
Best with ice cream outings with your girl..
6/10 because it was Very okay but not that great. 


2. Dior homme intense - she felt it. had a nice minty chocolate and sorta iris feel. very divine sweet, highclass and elegant.  One word that came to her mind was "superiority", Legend of a scent for the modern man....absolutely magnificent and unforgettable.  Definitely One for the ladies!! 
8/10. Not bad at all 


3 Tomfords black violet 
" this is very Sophisticated, feels very romantic , dark, sexy and dangerous". words cant describe this scent", non offensive, very sweet, flowery dark mix. Definitely unisex. This is what black orchid wishes it was. Smells Richer and better composed. More mature even.. best worn with suits to a big meeting or a high class event    because you will definitely be noticed
8.5/10   lovely and amazing


4. Thierry muglers summer flash-
Fresh musky fragrance, she thought it smelt like something you could  wear to the beach easily, non offensive. Easy on the nose, very safe fragrance to wear. For the younger crowd 18-25ishh 
6/10- nice but not too special


5.  Vercase's oud noire... 
She loves this,thought it was kind of unisex, fresh and creamy , very well blended... This is what Roman abramovich (owner of Chelsea FC)  would smell like.. *lol*
soothing and relaxing, feels like a mix of tomfords Tuscan leather with a little bit of oud.. she'll definitely give you a longer hug if you're wearing this for sure.

HEAD 2 HEAD. Tomfords bois marocain VS L'Air du Desert Marocain Tauer Perfumes for women and men





Private Blend: Bois Marocain by Tom Ford is a woody spicy fragrance for women and men introduced in 2009. The fragrance features vetiver, patchouli, Virginia cedar, incense, bergamot, pink pepper, pepper, cypress and thuja. The fragrance is available as 50 and 250 ml EDP.
When I first purchased this,
I started out thinking, hmmm, my first disappointment with Tom Ford's woody fragrances. Particle board. But 20 minutes later it was a whole different story. That's what I love about perfume--my first impression wasnt accurate, but it turned out to be a gem...very versatile and non offensive.



Bois Marocain starts out with a strong, aromatic cedar note, which seemed rather linear for some time. Once it developed on my skin, the depth became apparent as it took on more cypress/juniper/pepper. It became far more dry and masculine than I ever expected it to be. I am a huge fan of woody fragrances as well as spice, I actually think its a more tamed version of its opponent in this battle lol . Nevertheless, I think it's a glorious woody fragrance. I respect Tom Ford's woody perfumes ,Amazing quality and totally worth the price... Period!!!!

THE MASTERPIECE from the house of DIOR





Revisiting it again after 4months without use....One sentence only - >when you wear it you need a bentley to justify you smelling this good
There are no words to describe how amazing this fragrance is. it is the ultimate masterpiece! Such a complex out of the blue fragrance! Projection and sillage are great. Got compliments from most of my female friends, and even from the guys. One of them thought it smelt like chocolate cookies and all of them loved it. the only downer with this is less is more with this fragrance so 3 sprays is enough. i wear this on most night outs since i bought it and got a compliment every damn time . So far, this is one of the most amazing designer fragrances i have ever smelt. truly A masterpiece!
Dior Homme Intense by Dior is a Woody Floral Musk fragrance for men. It was launched in 2011. The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy. Top note is lavender; middle notes are iris, ambrette (musk mallow) and pear; base notes are vetiver and virginia cedar.
This fragrance is a must have in your collection.. It lasts for 10-14 hrs on my skin, very versatile and heyyyyy ladies love it... Honestly, blind buy this, you won't regret it.. Soo soo masculine, you will sorta feel like superman or some irresistible Greek god. Believe the hype! BUY THIS

Hello peeps..today's top 10 is dedicated to all my hot, sophisticated, beautiful women out there. This top 10 are my best female versatile fragrances . That do well in the office environment, night out, on the beach,casual events, dinner and of course fragrances that definitely attracts us guys. Well, that's why you wear em anyways lol. So I'm going to name 3 honorable mentions then my top 10.
Note that my top 10 could change anytime but for now, these are the best I have smelt so far ,okay?
Honorable mentions

1. ALIEN Thierry mugler for women.
This fragrance brings back memories.a whole lot *lol this lovely fragrance spreads a mysterious aura, and it claims the right to that already by its name.
Alien is a magic elixir captured in a bottle in the shape of a strange object, reminiscent of philosophers' stone or some warlock object of a deep and mysterious purple colour. the creators of this fragrance based the composition on three main lines. Warm amber in the base, woody notes in the heart, and sunny Indian jasmine. Projects well, great night out /dinner scent but its for a slightly older crowd in my opinion 24 and above Pardon all my English...I love this ishhh. )))


2 versace crystal noir for women ..a unique, very seductive scent. Extremely creamy feel to it and kind of sweet. Its like you are in a coconut cookie ice cream factory. Sounds sweet doesn't it well, that's what you get from this power house. I find this to be one of a kind. Its very versatile, can be worn anywhere, great longevity,sillage and projection. its definitely for the younger crowd maybe early 20's. Perfect birthday gift if you ask me.


La petite robe noire by guerlain
This fragrance reflects that Guerlain's distinguishable pretty allure. It is difficult to create a berries perfume with a quite mature soul and Guerlain is always different!
I was not in the habit of berries notes before due to my prejudice about them, in fact they seemed to me a bit childish..well..I've changed my mind complitely thanks to this Wasser's creation !!!!!!!
La PETITE is delightful with black cherry leading the other notes.
The licorice is appreciably well balanced too, there is also a sprinkle of freshness and the mix of creamy black cherry with licorice, vanilla and guerlanide makes it be really uncommon. Black tea, black cherry and licorice give depth and a dark personality. It is wearable in every season because it isn't overpowering.
It has also a kind of sour twist in the top notes, but it turns very creamy on me..
Extraordinary feminine and mysterious fragrance!!!!!!!! the edt is loving too!!


TOP 10.

10. Shalimar guerlain for women
Let me take you guys way back on this masterpiece from the house of guerlain.
Shalimar was created by Jacques guerlain in 1925, as a tribute to the legendary love story between emperor shahjahan and he's wife mumtaz mahal.
Before he became emperor, he's name was khurram. According to legend, the 20year old prince met a young girl named arjumand banu.
*i will tell you all about this in my next post about this particular fragrance* coming soon.*
This fragrance has a lemony feel to it, with a little tonka bean and vanilla. Lasts extremely long. Definitely for an older crowd. Note: this fragrance is not for every one, so take a sniff before you buy.


9. Jasmin noir bvlgari for women.
I personally don't like fragrances from this house but this is a huge exception. This perfume is dedicated to women between 25 and 40. This perfume is an absolute male magnet. So wear it at your own risk. It has a black cashmere and black orchid vibe. If you like warm, creamy, soft, deep, luxurious, intriguing, mysterious fragrance then this is for you. What I love most about this is the dark seductive scent trail. Reminds me of a special lady )

Top 6 work/office scents

Hello fragrance heads *lol* today's list is going out to my peeps in the labour market,all my 9-5ers out there.
I feel a great work scent should last for those long hours you spend at work,that stays with you through the sweaty marketing/field assignments and still gets you the complements *wink*
Personally for my work scent, I love fragrances that leave a sweet scent trail (sillage) pronounced *SEE-YAJ*, not too strong but strong enough to see me through my day.
So here's my Top 6 in my opinion



6 encre noire by lalique.
First of all if this fragrance was 30k I will still buy it, is extremely cheap for what you get from it, greatest bargain since I started collecting fragrances its a pretty sophisticated scent, great vetiver vibe, a little bit of musk and cashmere wood too. I love this. GET IT!!!! You won't regret it.



5 dolce and gabbana's the one.
This is a lovely office scent, it has a tobacco/spicy/fruity vibe going on. I get great longevity with this. Very nice! Sometimes I forget how nice it is until I spray it on.



4. Prada amber pour homme
This is a very clean, sweat amber based fragrance.
Its a bit lighter than the intense version I mentioned in my last post.
I get Great longevity and projection with this. Its a very dominating/daring scent, I get tons of compliments with this and its not that expensive surprisingly.



3 Yves saint Laurent's L'homme *picture*
With a suit and tie on, this is the fragrance for you. It smells expensive, smells like you're important. Its not too strong but it lasts really long to be honest. This is a Fresh/citrus/aromatic/woody fragrance. Great scent.



2 CREEDS millesime imperial *picture*
This is a very low key fragrance, its very salty, crisp,citrus/ fruity based fragrance. Well blended. like all creeds its more of a casual Friday scent. Although its lovely its quiet expensive. That's why its no 2 on this list. I think a cheaper alternative will be Sean jeans unforgivable or Ed Hardy's love and luck for men.



1 L'instant de guarlain pour homme eau extreme. *picture* this is a very lovely fragrance from the house of guarlain. I absolutely love this.
Its a soft cocoa/balmy/woody/sweet patchouli fragrance. Its not overly aggressive,matured scent. Tons and tons of complements wearing this. Sadly its very difficult to find this particular fragrance. So send me an email if you are interested.

Top 5 night out/club fragrances(designer)
Hey guys.
First of all, I didn't mention the tomfords and Creeds because they are classified as Niche' fragrances. This list is for only designer fragrances. don't be offended if your favourite fragrance isn't one of my top 5 but its strictly in my opinion and what I feel is the best based on compliments,how it smells on my skin,fragrance reviews and how often I got lucky while wearing these . Out of my butt load of fragrances I'm going to mention 2 honourable mentions and my Top 5.

Honorable mention.
1- Prada amber intense
This dark and mysterious fragrance is a very intruiging bourgomant fragrance, it has patchulli in it. Its not too sweet, but sweet enough to be intruiging. Great compliment getter and Great for intimate dinners and Smokey club set up. I love this.

2. Dolce and gabanna's The one
This is a great Sweat Fruit punch like fragrance,I get Great longevity with this, its non offensive, very sweet, tons of compliments, Easy on the trigger tho... Spray too much and you'll be choking people lol


So now for my top 5

5 bleu de chanel
this is one of my most loved fragrances, great complement getter,almost unisex even being a great aquatic, it has a great fruit not, well blended, best aquatic out there.


4 Diesels fuel for life
Now this is kinda crazy but this fragrance gets me a lot of compliments for some strange reason, I had to include this because its extremely unique. It has a bit of a semi sweet cocoa note going on. I think its a great fragrance if you want to get attention in parties etc. NICE!


3 Thierry muglers Pure Malt .. this smells like the original Angel man but has a little hennesy like feel to it, very Rich, soothing and seductive juice man!! It has a fruity, woody,sweet warm spicy note, lasts like a beast, was created in 2009 in honour of traditional Scottish whiskey. I absolutely love this. Too bad it has been discontinued so I doubt if you will ever get this in Nigeria. If you are interested send me an email or leave a comment on this.


2 Thierry muglers Pure Havane
This is a bit similar to pure malt but it gets me a little more compliments from the ladieeeesss. It has a sweet/honey/vanilla/cocoa feel to it, very Warm, not too offensive, people will literally want to Lick you, that's how good it is LoooL. Great complement getter, strictly for night outs. Pls in this hot weather, you can't use it in the hot afternoon except you are in a cold office or something.Great fragrance.



1 Dior homme intense
This is a panty dropper,great longevity, great sillage, great projection, smells absolutely phenomenal, very lovely. iy has a powdery, vanilla, woody, floral and amber note going on. Well blended, compliment getter, non offensive, very versitile, what more can I say. That's my Number one hands down.
