Religion / Re: Man Shoots At Jehovah Witnesses For Visiting by frankkky: 10:32am On Oct 05, 2013
Dan Anyiam:
I am not a witness and I can't speak for them, but I can't keep mute, while you spread untruth about this people. Can you make reference to the settlement case you are talking about in Canada or Australia or did you just made it up? My wife is a witness for the past 20 years and I cannot exchange her for any person because of how well behave she has become since she became a member. So through her I knew a lot about them. They don't have a clergy class like most churches, they call themselves brothers hence, everyone is equal. They attend their meetings at their hall and at the end the meeting, everyone goes home with his family till next meeting, so where did child abuse get into your system?

You sounded like someone they threw out because of immorality, which is what they do unlike most churches where you can do whatever you like. I will like to be one of them but I find talking to strangers very difficult and since preaching is the basis of their faith, I don't see how I can manage, if not, I will recommend them for anybody, if you have the gut to preach and I do admire them for carrying Jesus's command to preach from house to house.

I think you must surely be a former member that they disfellowshipped, by the tone of your voice, but saying things that is 1000% false is not the way to go. For people who says they can't take no for an an answer, next time they come, tell them that you don't want them to call again and watch as they write it down and they won't come back again. Trust me, I am marrying one them for the last 20 years.
As for young people leaving in drove, you are talking absolute nonsense, my kids goes to their meeting with my wife. My daughter who is now married was baptised when she was 19 and still going with her husband now she is 25. My two sons both love the religion and both were baptised this summer in London. They are now over 7 million in number, I read it from their annual year book, compared to 5 million few years ago. So where did you get your fallacy from?

When I was on holiday with my family 4 years ago in New York, I went to their HQ with my wife to see things for myself and I was totally in awe how these guys are organised, and the guide told us then that they will soon be moving the HQ to the rural area of NY where they bought acre of land after 70 years in brooklyn because they are scaling down the size of their print IN NY, which is done now mostly in their sub-branches like the one in Nigeria and they want to spend more time in preaching.
So that was 4 years ago, I heard that, which they have been planning for years, so for you to seat at your computer and claim that they are broke, hence the reason for moving. I am just looking at their website now jw.org and I can see on the front page, work on their new HQ is in speed of work. Its good to stick to the fact, even if you don't like somebody or something, rather than spreading falsehood as a spite. Have a good life.
a billon likes, men i am like you,i find it difficult to talk to strangers but am slowly overcoming it

like so many i used to dislike the jehovah witness cause my pastor always warned us against them but deep in my heart i had always wondered why?i accepted a bible study so to prove their doctrines wrong but to my uttmost amazment everything they teach is straight from the bible, anyone with a desire for truth will alwys see this,i have spent many years in my pentcostal church and have held postions but one thing i found compelling about the witnesses is the love they love they share among themselves that cuts cut across national, colour or tribal barriers, let us call a spade a spadei will have taken up arms against a so called brother if my country wages war against their country.
if everyone pratices what the witness belive this world will be a better place,in most churches the emphasis is on prosperity and materialism,i have seen weathly witneses who are very humble and more interested in seeking the kingdom of GOD first.

Yooguyz:
do you know that in d past Jw's actively promoted the celebration of christmas.
It is claimed that in 1919 Jesus
chose the Watchtower Society to
be his sole channel for salvation,
based on it being the only
Organization teaching and
practicing truth. Yet numerous
practiced of 1919 are now
considered to be pagan. This
makes mockery of any claim that
the Organization had specialyou are trying too hard!!!!!!i have been following you and your hatred for the JWs is becoming like a broken record, anyhow please contiune because ironically people like you make people curious to know about the truth and come to discover the truth.
standing in Jesus' eyes in 1919.
The Bible Students actively
engaged in and even promoted
celebrating Christmas, birthdays
and Mothers Day until well after
1919. These were thought out
apparently under the guidance of
Holy Spirit and explained as
acceptable. Now the same Holy
Spirit has dictated that they are
to be considered pagan or
creature worship and those that
participate are described as
'ignorant'
Christmas
"When Jehovah's Witnesses cast
aside religious teachings that
had pagan roots, they also quit
sharing in many customs that
were similarly tainted. But for a
time, certain holidays were not
given the careful scrutiny that
they needed. One of these was
Christmas." Jehovah's Witnesses -
Proclaimers of God's Kingdom
p.198
Bible Students celebrated
Christmas well after they were
'cleansed' in 1919. The
discussion of this in the
Proclaimers book lets one draw
the conclusion that this was a
pagan celebration inherited from
Christendom, but subsequently
discarded once properly
considered. Yet Jehovah's Slave
had considered Christmas and
not only concluded that it was
acceptable for Christians but
promoted it as "of the greatest
importance."
"Even though Christmas is not
the real anniversary of our Lord's
birth, but more properly the
annunciation day or the date of
his human begetting (Luke 1:28),
nevertheless, since the
celebration of our Lord's birth is
not a matter of divine
appointment or injunction, but
merely a tribute of respect to
him, it is not necessary for us to
quibble particularly about the
date. We may as well join with
the civilized world in celebrating
the grand event on the day
which the majority celebrate -
"Christmas day."" Zion's Watch
Tower 1904 Dec 1 p.364

postcard photo of the Bethel
Christmas meal in 1926. Included
in the photo are Rutherford,
Knorr and Franz.

@ frankkky, u r right to an extent. So many factors might hamper the debt recovery process. Such as lack of evidence as Plumber has rightly stated. Thus in such circumstance, the only arsenal at your disposal is ur mere DESIRE to recover the debt. That's why u ve to employ any means(legal) possible to recover such debt at a very minimal cost.
@ plumber, well! I wish you the best. Surely, a day shall come when u will smile to the bank to draw ur long over due money. God will surely change the heart of ur debtor. Regards
hmmmmmm, you do have a valid point there, what you say makes sense, but how do you operate in a corrupt system?honestly i and some of my friends have lost money, you supply people with goods and machieries,to get your money back becomes a problem but if you can help it would really be great,it depends on how many references you have, how manny succes cases u have had.

The Plumber:

If you can involve the The Police with your resources than Ive got no problem with d arrangement, but the last thing i will do is to give anybody a kobo upfront before my debt is recovered.
We can have an MoU where we will agree on the what you will get after i recover d debt; this is the only way i will be willing to continue discussion with you, aside this i prefer to wait and hope than to sink more money into this matter.

A friend once brought one mallam to me over this issue after taking money from me, the mallam promised to track my debtor spiritually and make him pay grin till date nothing has happened, u see where am coming from.
eaclty what i wanted to tell you,i have gone down this lane before, hiring so called debt collectors but ended up loosing more money.@poster so it is the nigeria police u rely on?this is nigeria, how do you know if the debtor too is not paying the police?abegiiii!!!!!
Politics / Re: Army Moves To Retire Al-mustapha by frankkky: 4:36pm On Jul 22, 2013
mikeapollo: It would be huge injustice to just retire him as a Major.

The guy was arrested and detained during course of duty to the nation, as CSO to the president(whether civilian or not), was imprsioned for 15 years and now freed by a competent court of law.

The best thing the Army should do is to make him seat and write for some fast-tracked promotion exams to assess his suitablity for promotion to the next rank(s). They can make him seat for a couple of tests and if he passes, he should be promoted to the next rank.
A few years( 2 or 3 years) will be okay to make him seat for the acccumulated exams for his delayed promotions, and he can then be retired, maybe as a Brigadier or Colonel. Afterall, we have seen people given rapid promotion in service!this is the way i feel too,the man loves his proffession so much as well butin life i guess there are certain things we can not control and we pray to GOD to give us the wisdom, the way i see it bro this guy is on his way out of the army, looking at the reasons why he cant be promoted makes sense, well mustapha should look at the bright side,he will get his benefits in full, but sha e go pain am cause am sure major was not the rank he would have loved to retire.

We need to be fair to the guy. Fifteen years immprisonmnent is more than enough punishment!

bolayei: My man there are a lot of reasons why you should stay in nigeria...,1) You are already 28 and you are meant to have your family by now all things being equal. At 28 its not easy without a work permit you will then maybe live another 5 year before you get legal status by then you will be 33 years old and uk is not a place where you can keep money it comes and goes incase you are thinking of saving its almost impossible2) Six months visa is a visiting visa without work permit, that means you will live illegally and you are a graduate trust me nigerian degrees are not recognised here even if there were accepted you still need a work permit.3) 1 million naira can start something just try and make it official i.e register a company and start anything at all even if its frying puff or akara (just joking but you get my drift) anything at all just make it official and open an account, if you need more money your said uncle will assist as long as you can convince him you are on point. Trust me in 6 months of running a business you can apply for a visiting visa and submit all your business related document its 98.9% that they accept and then you get your six months visa and visit the u.k and come back so that you can get 2 years meanwhile you have a business to come back to and from visiting the uk you will get some more business ideas to implement in nigeria.
good advise you gave the poster, exaclty what i wanted to tell him,so poster the ball is in your court, invest the money well o

Symphony007: Does'nt mr president have advisers. Were did he get this crazy idea of wearing military uniform in a democracy? A civilian commander in chief in civilain clothes being saluted and giving orders to the unifromed military is central in our constitution. He is not even an ex-service man like obj. Did yar adua ever wear military atire? Even north korea with all it's propagandar, the kims never wear miltary atire.
legally speaking he has the full rights to wear it as the C-in-C and also The presido has always loved the miltary and uniforms so i guess that comes into play here but that doesnt take away the fact that we are in a democracy and the miltary takes orders from the civilan headship

AUTOLOUGE: Automobile business is a very lucrative business in nigeria, but have it in mind that you must be patient because the business can can be funny atimes.but firstly, not all vehicles are acceptable in nigeria.toyota, honda, nissan nd volswagen are moving market.another thing you need to consider is price, when your price are too high their going to be a problem.let me give you one analysis,if a landing cost of a clean 1998 toyota camry is around 700k,expect that your profit might be between 100k to 150k.
Mail me at adedoying@ymail.com for more explanation and details and as a first timer don't venture into a right hand drive cars for now

Lins01: Yes, it is nice business.
yeah it is,as in all business you need a lot of foresight, passion and hardwork to make it work.as you know it is a large market now in nigeria so you have to step your game to be ahead of others, you must be willing to go the extra mile in satisfying your customers, and always stick to realistic terms with your customers, there is nothing as as bad as a disappointed customer, for example you only give time span when a car has sailed with ship, never,i repeat never before the ship has sailed.
And for shipping to lagos ports, grimadi lines remains the best and one thing always make sure the cars you bring to a customer is clean,i never joke with that, nigerians love clean rides
