The Los Angeles Police Department is officially looking into the allegation that Megan Thee Stallion suffered gunshot wounds after Tory Lanez allegedly shot at her twice. According to TMZ, detectives have opened an assault with a deadly weapon investigation into what allegedly happened early Sunday morning July 12, shortly before cops pulled over Tory's chauffeur-driven SUV in the Hollywood Hills. This comes after it was earlier reported that Tory Lanez was the culprit who allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion in the feet twice during an argument as she and her best friend Kelsey Nicole attempted to get out of his SUV following a fight at a house party in the Hollywood Hills. Recall, the Canadian rapper was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed weapon after Police found a handgun in his car as they pulled him over with Megan Thee Stallion and her best friend. In the footage obtained by TMZ, Megan was seen leaving bloody footprints as she limps away from the SUV when police pulled them over and instructed the trio out of the car after a report that shots were fired early Sunday morning. Watch here Three days after the incident, Megan issued a statement, in which she revealed that she suffered gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital where she underwent surgery to remove the bullets, contradicting initial reports that she had cut her foot due to broken glass in the car. Now that authorities are upgrading the investigation to assault with a deadly weapon, TMZ believes it could pave the way for new charges against Tory. Sources connected to the Canadian rapper have said he would claim the shooting was accidental if he's charged for the shooting.

Minister of health, Ehanire Osagie has told doctors seeking to relocate that to other countries to reconsider their decision as they won't be paid hazard allowance in countries like UK. Ehanire who insisted that they are working out a better welfare package for doctors in the country, expressed surprise over a recent report of 58 doctors who were prevented from leaving the country for the UK. He added that he is not aware if the doctors eventually left the country. Ehanire said; “We were all surprised to hear that they were at the airport. I think somehow or the other, it was irregular in that many of them did not have visas. I don’t know what evidence you have, maybe it’s a rumour that they have now left the country, I don’t know, but nobody should be leaving the country without visa. “Those who have been trained by scholarship and they’re on a job have a moral responsibility to give back. Even now, we have large numbers of Nigerian doctors in the UK, in the United States, in Europe who apply to come every year to come and serve, even though they were not even trained here or they were not even trained at state expense. “They have the obligation to come and give back to the community. It’s just a moral obligation. So, every year, it is called the diaspora health professionals initiative. Some of them spend their own money and they come here, bring equipment, materials, commodities. Every year, they come and help us. “They really owe the country nothing, but out of a sense of obligation, which is really commendable and we are in fact trying to improve on that initiative now and to see that we get the best out of the experience and the cutting-edge knowledge and skills that they bring from abroad. “So, even more so, those who are here, and you have been trained and you have a job, it is better to also give back to your community. And others who want to leave, Nigeria does not have a policy on restricting movement. But some countries do; some countries have that policy but we don’t. “We are trying to make sure that the remuneration is good. I think we are one of the few countries that are actually giving this hazard allowance. “Now, this UK where they are going to, there’s no hazard allowance. They don’t give doctors hazard allowance. You just get your salary, that’s all. I’ve spoken to doctors there and they said it’s part of their job, part of what they’re trained for. “But here, apart from your salary, we still try to add something to it in the hope that we’re going to attract our people to stay.”

Minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige has inaugurated a presidential joint board and audit panel to probe the alleged mismanagement of N3.4 billion by Adebayo Somefun, suspended managing director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF). Ngige who was represented at the inauguration of the panel which is headed by Ibrahim Khaleel, president of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and chairman of the audit committee of the NSITF board by William Alo, permanent secretary of the federal ministry of labour and employment, stated that the agency was established to address the socio-economic needs of workers by providing compensation to insured employees who suffer from occupational diseases, injuries or disability from accident or death in the course of employment. The Minister insisted that the issues emanating from the NSITF contravenes due laws and regulations. Ngige said; “The NSITF is a government-owned human centered entity which was established to address the socio-economic needs in the world of work by providing compensation to insured employees who suffer from occupational diseases, sustain injuries or disability from accident or even death during or in the course of employment,” he said. “In order to discharge this very noble mandate, the NSITF enabling act provides that employers of labour should make financial contributions to the fund of the NSITF. This includes employers in both the private and public sectors of the formal economy and the NSITF is the statutory custodian of these funds. “It becomes very worrisome when there are issues surrounding and emanating from the management of these funds entrusted to NSITF, especially when seemingly done in transgression of extant rules, regulations and laws guiding due processes for the management of funds and general conduct/ethics in the public service. “This becomes even more worrisome when preliminary investigations yield alarming results.” Khaleel who heads the eight-member committee which has three weeks to submit its report, said they will discharge their duty justly and with the fear of God so nobody will feel cheated. 1 Share

President Buhari has broken his silence concerning the saga playing out at the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC. A statement from the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, says the President is ''witnessing the unfolding drama, which includes attacks and counter-attacks between and around persons, institutions, and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and has expressed his strong determination to get to the root of the problem undermining the development of the Niger Delta and its peoples in spite of enormous national resources voted year after year for this singular purpose.'' Garba said the President has directed that auditing firms and investigative agencies working in collaboration with National Assembly Committees to resolve the challenges in the NDDC must initiate actions in a time-bound manner and duly inform the Presidency of the actions being taken. ''The President also directed timely sharing of information and knowledge in a way to speedily assist the administration to diagnose what had gone wrong in the past and what needs to be done to make corrections in order to return the NDDC to its original mandate of making life better for people in Niger Delta. President Buhari said the administration wants to bring about “rapid, even and sustainable development to the region.” The President gave firm assurance that his administration would put in place a transparent and accountable governance framework, not only in the NDDC but in all other institutions of government.'' the statement in part reads The Minister of Niger Delta Affair, Godswill Akpabio, and the former Managing Director of the Commission, Joy Nunieh, have been at loggerheads after she accused him of embezzling funds meant for the development of the region. The Interim Management Committee of the Commission has also been having hard times with the House of Representatives Committee investigating allegations of corruption in the Commission.
