I have been going through the sites provided and it is very confusing to me.

Please can someone explain what they mean by "add training to basket"?
And when you search and get one, what does year of entry - year 1, degree 4.
I selected masters in my search but I don't understand what this means.

I also noticed that for the motivations, they usually give this condition as the things to capture "Why do I choose this (or these) training? Why do I choose this establishment? What is my professional plan at the end of this training? (The reasons must be written in French)

Is there any way the OP can take me through this process?

The information on both sites is not clear.

The website can be very confusing,

To select a course, it is best to search by city only. Don’t fill anything on the search bar, just click the drop down on city and select a city.

When it loads, go down and select ‘taught in English’ and then select the course you want, then select the school offering the course and add to basket. You can add up to 7 schools and courses in your basket.

Year 4 means first year of masters. Some call it year 1 some year 4 as a continuation of bachelor studies.

Your letter of motivation should be written in English except you selected courses taught in French. So verify that.

Good evening and thank you for this wonderful information.
I have a couple of questions which I will like you to clear.

1. Are you saying that after the admission process between October and December, we are to wait from December till September before we can start studies?

2. Does France offers post graduate work permit after studies? If yes,how long does the pgw permit lasts (1,2 or 3 years)?

3. Can a student who is not able to get a suitable job in France after graduation establish its own business.

Kindly help out as I am about to kick start admission process with a school in Poland but find this your own more better

For the first question, after you’ve gotten admission (responses will start falling in from December through March), you start preparing your documents for Visa.

From June you will be permitted to submit your application for visa. After you’ve gotten approval (response takes about two weeks) then you can start preparation for resumption in September.

Let me help out....

1, I don't know.

2, France offers 1 years post study work permit but only to Masters and PHD graduates.

3. Yes, if your business is in science and technology.

Most importantly, if you find yourself in France, learn French to C1 level, you would stand a better chance at obtaining a job and get your PR.

Thanks.

Look at the career prospects of each and decide. The pay is not far off from each other, you should be searching for something better but if any of them will give you the experience you are looking for then keep it or risk it.

Thank you so much for this insightful information God continue to bless u,pls what do you mean it’s best to go the relative approach?

Find a relative or call a friend a relative. It’s more credible to say the person is your relative than say a friend or colleague or whatever.

Thanks for this bro, pls must the guarantor or sponsor be related to the applicant? If not how much is require for the sponsor to show? And also is there any age limit to go for bsc? I am 27 and would like to start my bsc journey in france

The guarantor must not be related. If the person is a salaried earner, they must be earning 3 times of what is required per month, making about 2000Euro to be able to sponsor you. If you have someone abroad who can stand in as guarantor that would be great because most people earn about that sum per month.

If it’s a parent, then even about 4million will be fine. I know someone that combined his and his parent’s statement of about 4 million and got the Visa.

If not the best bet will be to find someone with a very big business earning steady flow of income and a balance of at least 3times the amount in a year, that is about 10 million.

No one can proof that that person is not a relative so it’s best to go the relative approach.

Age is not a factor at all in terms of admission or visa acceptance in France. They are quite liberal.

And secondly Ma...is one paying 243 euros for the whole master program or 3770 Euros.
Pls help me clarify this.

Some universities charge 243 Euro per year other universities charge 3770 Euro. It depends on the university you select and which offers you admission. Masters program can be 1 year or 2 years. Most are 2 years.

What’s important is that you have the amount that is needed to show to the Visa office or a guarantor.

Good morning. A quick question. What is the visa success rate? Also! It will be great to also create a WhatsApp link from here

Visa success rate is very high because of the straight forward process and the involvement of Campus France, the international body set up to aid students coming into France.

There will be no WhatsApp group. All discussions will take place here.

Eiffel Scholarship is a very popular one, fully funded but available for select courses for master and PhD level only.
A good article on it: https://www.opportunitiesforafricans.com/french-government-eiffel-excellence-scholarship-programme-2022/

Campus France has a website for available scholarships you can check that also: https://campusbourses.campusfrance.org/#/catalog

What about PhD programme, any information about these.

For all Public Universities, PhD is 380Euros but it's near impossible to find a PhD programme taught in English. You must also contact the schools directly for their requirement as Campus France does not deal will PhD applicants.

There are Private schools that offer PhD programmes in English but their fees and requirements are usually really high.

Language Requirement

A number of French higher institutions offer courses taught in English. A language proficiency certificate like IELTS or TOEFL is not required. This is not usually required for English-speaking countries as Nigeria.

If you wish to study in French however, you are required to have attained a B2 Level in DELF, TCF or TEF. This is the requirement for most institutions.

When are most schools opening in france?
Do we have schools opening in Jan. Or Feb.?
Yes for masters programs.
Thank you.

September is the entry session. Very few schools take in January and visa acceptance is very low. Your best bet is to go through campus France whose window opens for the September session every year.

What's the cheapest tuition fee?

Most French Public Universities have a fixed price. You will either be paying;

€170 for undergraduate; €243 for masters

or

€2770 for the undergraduate; €3770 for the masters program.

To clarify all universities used to charge the first category for tuition. In 2019, The French Government decided to differentiate the fees of European and Non-European students. All Universities are expected to now charge the second category, but a number of universities wave the tuition such that the fees are the same for both National and International Students i.e €170 for undergraduate; €243 for masters. Depending on the universities you apply to, you will be paying either of those fees.

pls What do you mean by "free if you have a guarantor" ??

If you have someone that can stand in as guarantor for you; a parent, friend, or relative, then that's enough. They do not need the money to be in your account. If you are sponsoring yourself, then you need to have about N3.5million to show.

Word Order

Words do not exist in itself. It is expression of words that exists. What we feel when we haven’t eaten for a while is called hunger in English, faim in French and hambre in Spanish. The act of putting people through school is Education in both English and French. When we move our bodies to the rhythm of music, we call it dance in English. Because words do not really exist the word order in languages can differ.

In English to say the expression of loving someone you say, I love you but in French you say Je t’aime (I you love). To say the red car in French you say the car red. Different word orders exist in different languages and you can get used to them by thinking in expressions and not in words.

Great thing that English and French have a lot of cognates; words with the same origin that look alike and with similar meaning but can sometimes be pronounced differently. Like Education, Capitalism(e), attentive, grand, and rare. English has in it about 30% borrowed words from French but be careful of false friends; words that look and sound alike but mean different things. Ex. Attend(wait).

Numbers

Singularity and plurality of words in French is quite different from its counterpart. To form a plural word in French, you add an s at its end. In French you add an s that will never be pronounced. Ex. Livre-Livres are said exactly the same way. So how to know that I am speaking of multiple books(livres)? Let me introduce the concept of markers. Markers exist in French to show gender as well as number in a word. Les is a specific marker in French to show a word is plural. Le livre (masculine, singular) becomes les livres (masculine, plural). You will have to pay attention to these little word usually attached to words to get nuances.

Pronunciation

You shouldn’t jump into learning a new language unless you have gone through a pronunciation guide. Learn how things are said before you even know what they mean. Understanding how a word is pronounced in a language will help tremendously in your listening and speaking capabilities. It’s the best foundation that you can get. Most languages have a specific standard for pronunciations and spellings. The most complicated pronunciation structure is arguably English and there just might be reason why. English is a borrowed language. Origin of English words are drawn from various languages. It’s why the letter A for example can be pronounced as Ay as in bake, Ah, as in cat and Aa as in rat. In French you have the A as ah always, the I as ee always. It is standard that when you see some certain letters you have to pronounce it a certain way in French. But be careful about nasal sounds and vowel combinations, a totally different topic.

Nevertheless, as simple as the French pronunciation structure can be, it has its perks. It renders comprehension more difficult when everything starts to sound the same. The first major rule of French is “do not pronounce the last consonant of every word with only a handful of exceptions”. Cha(t)-sha, tro(p)-tro, tem(ps)-ton, tan(t)-ton, gro(s)-gro.

This along with how words blend together in French (see liaison and elision), places French as a contextual language; comprehension is gotten more from context than word for word.

Gender

It is most probably the first thing you will be welcomed with when starting to learn French. Gender is the assignment of words as masculine(m) or feminine(f). The concept of gender does not exist in English; no word in English has a gender, they are just words! People say French would have been so much easier if there was no gender. So much easier.

Every physical and abstract thing has a gender in French. All physical things like house(f), pen(m), door(f), rice(m), Nigeria(m), church(f) and bottle(f). Abstract things like love(m), hope(m), death(f), and life(f). Semi-abstract things like air(m), power(m), education(f), time(m), even words(m) and gender(m).

Not only the words themselves will have a gender but sometimes what accompanies them. Ex. A new house is une nouvelle maison, but a new book is un nouveau livre.

As English speakers, we often find it an impossible task learning international languages. Embarking on language learning journeys, we tell ourselves; it’s so complicated, I wish it was as straightforward as English. Newsflash! English is complicated to other language speakers.

In learning a language, you have to understand the compositions of languages including the one you already know and speak in order to make comparisons and distinctions that will aid learning. Because we are naturalized into speaking English, we may not understand its parts and formation, same parts and formations that are present in every language albeit a bit different.

Here are the major distinctions in French and English.

You can't get it through agent...you need to read extensively about how it works and follow the right steps to make it work.
Else you will continue to waste your money on scammers called agent.

My friend introduced me to one agent when I told him I wanted to try my luck with canada. The agent said they have a special package. He said he will process visit Visa for us, I said ok when we get there what next. He said it depends on us but immediately we are back we will start processing PR.

I dropped the call and started laughing. If I had not read and understood how things work I could have thought he is right and just waste money like that.
