Submitted on the 1st of September, interview was scheduled for 11th but did a walk in on the 3rd. After biometrics, did my interview, went with my dependants but It was just me though as the main applicant who had an interview.

It was short with just 5 questions.

1 - Introducing myself.
2 - Why the UK
3 - Why the course
4 - How will it be useful to me upon my return to Nigeria
And Lastly
5 - If I understood everything that was asked.

The interviewer (a lady) was quite friendly and easy going, the session didn't last more than 5 minutes.

Venue was TLS Victoria Island.

Visa approved and picked up.

Mail received 24th September.
Passport for myself and dependants picked up today 24th September.

Aberdeen here we come.

Thanks guys for the tips and knowledge gained.
@mimilyrics you deserve 5 plates of isi ewu.

Is there anyone here around colchester,Essex that can help in getting accommodation off campus?i have heard a lot of accommodation links ranging from RIGHTMOVE and etc but am abit scared of paying for something online that i haven’t seen either.can anyone give an advice even though i opted for school accommodation for the mean time.

I don't know if this helps answer your question, for my own accommodation issue. I used ZOOPLA, picked the apartment I wanted and requested a video tour from the leasing company. After all said and done, we agreed a price and signed a tenancy agreement. We also agreed the rent and deposit will be paid upon my arrival in the UK.

So I don't think you need to make any payment from here, just discuss with whoever the leasing rep is and make he/she see things from your perspective. Good luck.

This is very dangerous actually and may work against an applicant. If you’re going to have a rapport with a visa officer, let them be the one to initiate that level of closeness and not you. In most cases, when you initiate the rapport, the visa officer would play along, but they’ve misinterpreted what you did: some would think you’re trying to gain favours, while some may also think you’re invading their privacy. When you’re Nigerian, the odds are even more against you... due to the “corruption” stereotype.

To be on the safe side, always keep it professional. Atleast until THEY make that switch. Just my 2 cents sha.

My brother there's nothing dangerous about it. There's no point overthinking simple things. It's worked for me over and over again. Keeping things professional doesn't stop you from being courteous and showing your human side.

Do what works for you though.

Good luck with your application but how did you know she’s easy going wink cheesy

Lol thanks. Because I tried to create a rapport immediately we started the session. Just basic stuff like how she's staying safe during this period and hope the application backlog isn't exhausting. We had a chat for about a minute before commencing the interview proper.

At the end of the day, the consular's are human like you and I, you just need to talk to them like you're talking to a friend you haven't seen in a while.

kennethoye: pls bro can i send ma cv to u. so u can help me to submit. tnks n God bless

Bros from what I understand, time for submission has passed, I very much doubt it would be accepted but there's no harm in trying, if u stay close to marina u can take it to 20 marina and drop it with any of the ladies u see at the reception, if not u can send it to hr.sterlingbankng.com, I'm not attached to head office so sending it through me won't make sense as I rarely go there, I only know what's going on cuz I'm trying to follow up 4 my cousin as well. Cheers and Best of luck.

if you can get this info, then you should be able to tell us when to expect call-up for medicals and TS. wink

There would be a final interview before TS, the woman in charge of the recruiting is on leave, she should be back by next week and hopefully from then the list can be compiled, a lot of people did badly though.

Nairaland / General / Starting An Oil And Gas Servicing Firm by freshprince24: 10:03am On Aug 18, 2014
I have a degree in Business administration and work in a bank, but it's not the path I want to follow and honestly my job doesn't make me happy, and I'm seriously considering a career change, so I'm thinking of starting up an oil servicing firm and I'm looking for a partner who studied engineering and probably has work experience so we can pool resources and start together.
