Waoh, congratulations to you. It ended in praise.

Stephblues:
Really what they say about when it’s your time, nothing can stop it is really true. My story is a testimonial to that fact.

This journey started in 2017. I got back from the US and applied to a school in Texas, got admitted and I went on to apply for visa. I went with confidence thinking, what’s the worse that can happen? I was refused. I applied again and was refused twice again. I lost all hopes of traveling. I decided to look at Canada, unfortunately all the schools started rejecting me. I couldn’t get even one school not to talk of visa. So this year, I decided to change my plans and went for the UK, I immediately got admitted into 3 schools and with scholarships. My hope was restored. But my brother was still bent on me applying to Canada so I decided to give it another try. I applied to Trent and University of Windsor, Trent refused but I got Windsor. So I rushed to apply for visa to beat the May 15th deadline. To cut the story short, God came through for me. Below is my timeline.

First time applicant.
Age: 41
School: University of Windsor
Course: MSc Actuarial science
Submitted: May 12
Biometric request: May 13
Biometric done: May 14
Nse request: May 25th
Upfront Medical: updated to pass June 16th

Nothing else, no ghost update, nothing. I ordered my Gcms notes June 29th, I got it July 30th. I saw recommend interview. The wait continued until today.

I had given up hope that i even started my UK processing. I paid deposit in the Uk because at this point, I was tired, mind and body.

BVL and PPR: August 11 ( This day will forever be in my mind).

I want to thank everyone who has supported me in this journey, you all are angels in disguise. May all the PPR hopefuls get their joy soonest.

It has ended in praise.

It is possible to get Nigeria PCC while abroad, either through the Nigeria embassy in your country of residence or through a 3rd party back home.

The process is the same either way. You will fill a downloadable form (Different forms for males and females). Follow the instructions, in fact, there are many samples on how to fill the form online, especially how to append your fingerprints.

When done, scan the form, copy the data page of your international passport, and other requested information, e.g., passport photo (you can send a soft copy which can be printed in Nigeria), I think a letter also..please refer to the official website of Nigeria Police for detailed information.

All the information will be taken to the right office or officer physically by your contact in Nigeria. A fee is attached, the official rate is less than 3k (my guess) but you may be asked to give around 4k to 50k, depending on the level of the greediness of the officer (I paid close to 4k to the officer and added a little for transport, but I was asked to pay 50k by another contact who is a police officer, note, the 50k was just because we are somewhat related oooo).

In short, you don't need to be physically resident in Nigeria to obtain a PCC. I hope this helps.

Kenthro:
HELLO GUYS, PLEASE HOW CAN I OBTAIN THE POLICE CLEARANCE CAUSE I DONT LIVE IN NIGERIA

Thank you.

Ysakaws1:
Who is traveling to University of Winnipeg or University of Manitoba by August and wants to share a 2 bedroom apartment? 50% rent and bills.

I’m a male in my early 20s

Hi all,

It’s my first time dropping a message here. I just want to share our timeline to encourage someone as I have been encouraged.
Admission: My husband(40years) got a PhD position, Uni. of Manitoba.

Location: Sweden on post-study resident permit as at the time we submitted our application, with 2 kids.
Application submitted: June 13th
Biometrics: June 21st
Medicals: Not required
Visa Approved: July 26th, no update on our applications till approval date

Documents submitted:

HUBBY: Letter of Admission
LOE: 6pages, well organized in short topics, with emphases on academic history. We both started our education in Nigeria in a scarce profession (2002) at the diploma level. He finished his first degree at OAU, Ile-Ife, 2010 through DE, we both finished our masters, last year June in Sweden, fully sponsored. He leveraged the non-availability of the course in Nigeria and 95% of African countries (at graduate levels) as a strong link to Nija and Africa and prospect back home. We added links to the latest advert for our profession in academics that there are no qualified persons to fill up. And several other links to how we have been contributing to the development of our profession in Nigeria.

POF: Approximately 65k CAD, account in naira (salary and savings account) and Swedish kronor, CAC certificate of a newly established company (late last year, with no financial transaction), a letter of support from his cousin who committed to offering her basement for our accommodation and a spare car for transportation, no properties, or assets.
Certificates: All relevant certificates and the scholarship certificate from Sweden, IELTS, CV.
Family document form: All our siblings are still in Nigeria, both sides.
IELTS
MYSELF
LOE: Corroborated our academic history, attached pictures from 2002 and recent family pics. Stated we put our funds together for hubby’s academic pursuit (because I did not make any affidavit for the lump sum I deposited in his account, but I wrote a description in the transaction, stating for “Ph.D. project support”. I mentioned how we have supported each other’s dreams and our successes in completing our masters at the same time despite we have 2 young children. I mentioned that the kids have never lived apart from either of us and we are excited that Canada is very proactive in encouraging family unity. We sha promise to leave the country when hubby’s study is done, etc
Certificates: Hubby’s admission letter and all relevant certificates, IELTS, CV
Travel history: Studied in India and returned immediately after. Yes, we mentioned that we stayed back in Sweden because we decided to put our family’s health and safety first….corona virus restrictions, etc.

Children: 7 and 4 years, we submitted the basic documents required with no extra attachment.

Above all, God’s grace prevailed. We know we couldn’t prove how we will continue to sustain ourselves, but we submitted in faith.
I wish everyone the best in this new month.
