Governor Ben. Ayade of Cross River state has offered automatic employment to all graduates of civil engineering from the state.

The governor made this known at the 16th Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Civil Engineers held in the state.

Consequently, the governor directed all graduates of the course, irrespective of their year of graduation, to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CV) at the New Secretariat of Civil Service Commission for interview.

While acknowledging the financial implication of his decision, the governor noted that the young engineers, among other things, would be needed in the “construction of the 275 kilometers superhighway and Bakassi Deep Seaport projects.”

“I have done so, conscious of the financial implication on my shoulders but I am also aware that this is the right way of encouraging young Cross Rivarians who have made a choice of such a very difficult discipline to study.

“It is true that if you look at the academic pursuits of our state indigenes, they are mostly from humanities. So, for the few of them who have dared to do engineering and civil in particular, we must encourage them,” he added.

In his speech, the National Chairman of Institute of Civil Engineers, Engr. Andem Ekpo Bassey, appreciated the governor for the infrastructural development in the state and his massive support to the Institute.

Engr. Bassey, who is also from the state, specifically thanked the governor for taking such huge decision and pledge to partner with the state.

He also performed induction of Honorary fellow on the governor.

The government of Israel has formally grated international protection to the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Recall that Kanu who was declared missing after the military invasion in his home town, resurface in Jerusalem last week.

He, however, during his broadcast, said that he “owe his survival to the state of Israel.”

Lawan Faro, a middle-aged man who climbed billboard in protest of extreme poverty in the country has been arrested.

Recall that Lawan demanded assurance by Atiku Abubakar that Buhari would be send packing in 2019 as the only reason that would necessitate his coming down from the billboard.

However, around 8pm, some soldiers in company of other people convinced him that Atiku is waiting to receive him.

Unknown to him, it was a trick to make him come down and he was arrested and taken to Jimeta Police Station.

Meanwhile, Lawan has promised to carrybout his threat if he regains his freedom.

"Make no mistake about my demand; the moment I regain my freedom, I'll be heading to a taller object, possibly a telecommunications mast, to carry out my threat," he said.

The video which has gone viral on social media caught the attention of people who described it as hilarious.

Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement (NDGJM) has claimed responsibility of the attack on the 32-inch Effurun-Otor delivery line in Ughelli area of Delta State.

The spokesperson of the militant group, Aldo Agbalaja in a statement, said the attack is in continuation of the group's Operation Hammurabi Code, which is aimed at destroying more oil pipelines and facilities in the oil rich region.

Report making waves across the nation has it that there is serious pressure being mounted on presidency to obey the United Nations Charter on self determination and conduct a referendum in Nigeria to know Biafrans stand on one Nigeria.

The report also alleged that president Buhari was warned to desist from further violating the rights of the detained leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and ensure his unconditional release from the prison.

A source disclosed that Buhari revealed during a meeting he held early this month with northern leaders, that urgent attention is needed to resolve ongoing agitation by many groups as world leaders are on alert to resist any deliberate attempt against human right violation and call for referendum.

The source added that Buhari, however suggest that Biafrans would be allowed to secede if and only if the Niger Delta people are to remain in Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that those agitating for Biafra referendum are just mere dreamers, stressing that he would not allow that happen in Nigeria.

Buhari made the disclosure during a media event in New York City at the end of the 71th United Nations' General Assembly.

Buhari, who seems to be perturbed by the renewed agitation for a Biafra republic spearheaded by Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), advised Biafran activists to form a political party to advance their interest within the Nigerian democratic space.

Meanwhile, IPOB recorded a great success on September 23 sit-at-home protest as many people across the country observe the stay at order.

Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement (NDGJM) has reiterated its stand to continue its offensive against the federal government properties and oil installation despite the current state of the nation.

"It is true that the Nigerian economy is currently in recession, we shall continue our offensive against the federal government’s properties, oil installations until the Muhamadu Buhari led FG will begin to shed CROCODILE TEARS, if our demands are not urgently met", the group declared.

The militant group had on August 30, launched 'Operation Crocodile Tears' by blowing up NPDC oil pipelines/installations at exactly 10pm at Kporghor community in Tai local government area of Rivers state.

The group had alleged continuous marginalization of the Niger Delta people and asked to be giving the control of oil output in the Niger Delta region.

A fatal accident along Kenema road in Sierra Leone has claimed 17 lives with others seriously injured, Thegistbaze learned.

A Facebook user, Iyke NwaforUchendu, who sent the pictures to our news editor said that evacuation of dead bodies has commence while the injured ones are being moved to the nearest hospitals.

He said that the cause of the accident is not known.

Following the intensified renewed agitation for Biafra republic which had in recent times alluded to Delta state as part of states under the envisaged republic, the Delta State government has made a dismissing statement with regards to that.

The Secretary to State Government (SSG), Mr. Festus Ovie Agas said that the fact that some communities in the state have cultural affinity with the South-East people does not mean they are part of Biafra.

Irked by President Buhari's recent statement accredited to South-East and South-South Youth Corpers to tell their people to forget their agitation for Biafra as it's not achievable, Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has responded the president, describing him as a man of no shame.

Kayode recalled that Biafrans were killed in millions by Nigerian government during the civil war that lasted for over 3 years, stressing that as a partaker of the genocide, Buhari supposed to be answering charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

His statement reads: "You bathed in the blood of Biafrans, you crushed their bones and stripped away their dignity and self-respect just to keep Nigeria one.

"Now you say their children have no right to ask for self-determination simply because you killed their fathers and mothers during the war and shattered their dreams.

Government of Iceland may be considering a grant of about $5,000 per immigrant who marries a woman from the country, Thegistbaze has learned.

The country with a population of about 330,000, which has most of its citizens living in the capital, Reykjavik, is reportedly running out of men following a mass emigration of Englanders from the country.

Meanwhile, if this resolution turns out to occur, the North Africa's population would definitely be favoured most.
