Romance / Re: 5 Smart Ways To Make A Nigerian Lady Marry You. by GabrielShaze(m): 1:59pm On Apr 29, 2015

4. Ensure your current house is at least a 2 bedroom flat with no male squatters. When a serious Nigerian lady comes to visit you, and she meets a mini-flat with mattresses on the floor and one or two of your guys wearing boxers and 'hailing' her, chances of her marrying you diminishes by 60%. If a more serious suitor walks into her life at that moment, and he lives ALONE in a 2 or 3 bedroom flat, SHE WILL MARRY HIM.

I fit laugh die. Na real hailing! grin grin grin

Great questions

1. The projects that are submitted during the bootcamp vary a whole lot. Each person submits a project so there is such a wide range. However, the projects that come out of bootcamp will basically require you to use the fundamentals of programming and javascript that you have learnt during the homestudy and bootcamp. If you take the time to prepare well using these resources you will have no problems at all. Check out the homestudy curriculum here (http://curriculum.andela.co/homestudy/) and the bootcamp curriculum here : (http://curriculum.andela.co/bootcamp/)

2.Yes. You are always welcome to reapply to the Andela fellowship. Lots of current fellows have re-applied and made it through. We now recruit every month so its a lot easier to re-apply on apply.andela.co.

3. Beyond technical skills we are looking for smart, bright and hardworking young people who are very passionate about technology and software development. If you are simply trying to get a job or figure out if you like software development, this isn't the best program for you. We want people who have the desire and drive to be world class software developers in four years.

i want to suggest that ANDELA should have accommodation for the two weeks bootcamp cos some applicants stay very far from herbert Macauley and some even stay outside Lagos. i also want to suggest that there be a change in the interview style cos the current style is not it at all. A smart lier who haven't even set his/her eyes on the homestudy page might scale through to the bootcamp jeopardising the chances of great coders. What I'm trying to say is that, if there is an actual test during the interview, you will see a huge increase in performance during bootcamp. This thing has to do with coding talent not lieing talent.

I think that's why a "Home Study Test" has been introduced before the interview part for class VIII

Hey guys,

My name is Iyinoluwa Aboyeji. I am a co-founder of Andela. I specifically run fellow recruitment at Andela. I realize a lot of people come here to find information about applying to the Andela Fellowship and I love to encourage the amazing peer-learning that happens here. So here is what I would like to propose. If you have any questions you would like to ask me about Andela, ask it here anytime before noon on Monday, 23rd of March, 2015 and I will answer it. If this works out well we might make it a monthly occurrence.

Have a great day and good luck to those who have been invited for interviews and homestudy tests next week. Please make sure you prepare well for those. It is getting really competitive ouchea. For those who didn't get in we serve a God of several chances so head over to apply.andela.co and reapply. Don't forget to also get a headstart by checking out our homestudy program on (http://curriculum.andela.co/homestudy/) Good luck with that as well!

Hello Iyinoluwa,

Thanks for coming on here to answer questions some of us have had for a while

1. What type of projects are recruits in the boot camp expected to submit after their 2 weeks training?
2. Can someone who didn't make it to becoming an Andela Fellow reapply? (i.e after he/she must have been to the boot camp)
3. Lastly, beyond technical skills, what qualities do you believe a potential programmer (who doesn't just want to write code but solve problems) should possess?

Thanks smiley

. how much did you pay and what did you tell them happened to your phone and which branch of Carlcare did you take it to.

Romance / Re: Why Do Guys Feel Intimidated By Girls With Cars? by GabrielShaze(m): 6:12pm On Jan 24, 2015
Like someone already said, its usually in our mind.

The same way it would be probably easier to approach a girl who isnt putting on makeup and ghen ghen clothes. Truth be told, some ladies wouldn't want to date a guy who isn't on her financial level but you don't want such people in your life anyway. Some guys who dont have cars have pieces of land somewhere worth millions but you know how we are as human beings; always judging people based on what we can see about them on the external.

Even at that, I'm sure there are wonderful chics out there who woulnt mind dating a guy who is caring and confident enough without needing a car to boost his ego. smiley

It will not necessarily get bricked. Most times it will just tell you update failed. It has happened to me. I had rooted my device earlier and tried to update it, it only kept showing an emc or something error as it tired to update in the recovery but when I rebooted my phone it boots.
So updating your device after rooting does not necessarily brick it. Most times it just prevents it from updating.

Oh well...some of us weren't that lucky and ended up bricking our phones. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Which app did u use to root your Infinix Zero? I used Root Genius

. what did you drop along with your phone, your receipt?

Nothing. Just the phone and its IMEI numbers

Okay, so it is only when you've already rooted it, updating d fone will brick it right??

If you try to update your Infinix Zero after rooting it, it will get BRICKED. If you really want to apply an update Im guessing u could either update and root later or unroot it before applying an update.

.lol. i have done a factory wipe on my phone. i hope the rooting issue will be gone

Did the same thing before sending the phone for repairs. Hope it gets fixed. I was told it would take two weeks (from the time I dropped the phone off with the Carlcare rep)

Simran94:
. have you now repaired your bricked phone?

Nope. Was advised by a Carlcare agent to drop with off with one of their agents for repairs. I hope they can help me fix it considering that Ive voided the warranty by rooting the device to start with cool

Not really. I can can comfortably go to sleep knowing that no one is cheating on me grin, I dont have live up to anyone's (i.e bae) expectations etc

I'd rather maximize my single life now cos when I'm married I wont be able to do certain things anymore cos I have to live for two and consider wifey before taking any decision. BTW "certain things" doesn't necessarily mean bad thinz cool
