I did my own car papers by November 2019 because I bought a registered car and everything cost 70k including new Lagos plate. You need to do everything afresh because all documents must now carry your name and that involves change of ownership from police and court but the person who did mine handled everything. It can go les than that amount but you can never tell when your documents will be ready so it's wise to add something and get it within a week or two

Avoid a Nigerian used Peugeot and Volkswagen, most likely going to send you to the village due to electrical abuse.
Honda civic is a good option and it's easy to maintain.
Manual or automatic transmission depends on who is driving it.

I wanted to say this too, talking from experience with 2 Igbo men.
The first stayed for 3 years without paying, was eventually forced out with soldiers.
The second just locked the house and never came back, after series of calls we resorted to court.

At the end of the day the court came to clear his belongings and awarded damages which isn't up to half the rent �
