footballflaver:
The World Cup is just over a week away, what better way to prepare for the avalanche of football that is about to hit our television screens than assembling your very own World Cup fantasy football team on FIFA's official fantasy football site.

Much like Premier League fantasy football you have 100 million quid to spend on your squad, with bench boost and maximum captain (which doubles the highest scoring player on your first eleven) available as additional options, as well as a wildcard that grants unlimited transfers for one round.

Here is an example for anyone who's struggling to pick their squad:

The rules for FIFA's World Cup fantasy football are as follows:
The total value of your initial squad must not exceed €100 million. This will increase €105 million for the knockout stages.

All players that are a part of the final player listing will be valued before the start of the tournament based on available data. Original player prices will remain the same until the group stage (Round 3). Upon completion of the group stage, player prices will change depending on performances.

You can select up to three players from a single team during the group stage. This will increase to four players for the Round of 16, followed by five for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final of the World Cup.

Here's an overview of the scoring system:

With regards to transfers, you can make unlimited transfers at no cost until your first-round deadline, and between group and knockout stages. However once Round 1 ends, there are limited transfers between rounds.

Details of free transfers are mentioned below:

You are deducted four points from your overall points for every transfer you make above the available free transfers for a round. Your round and phase points will not be affected by this deduction.

Any unused transfers will be forfeited in the next round.

Liability:
i have spoken to the group that claimed they wanted to sponsor fpl. That is megabet, but i must tell you what they really have in mind wont be pleasant if i tell you their approach.

The manager of megabet was actually saying that they have their own platform of fantasy games, played on their website, register on their website. They are actually trying to get people to their site which you in particular and every other nairalander wont like.

Its not even the normal fpl oooo. Their own kind of fantasy football.

When i spoke to the manager he told me everything, and i saw that it wont be interesting to majority of nairalanders here so i had to tell him it wont work.

That was the more reason i took it upon myself to write to seun for sponsorship.

I believe mukina2 had contact with the megabet people and she also didnt fancy their idea.

We want fpl here on nairaland and to play it on the original fpl website nothing more.

Any initiative should leverage on the premiership.com platform...that will be the best bet. My Opinion

Got the code, Mukina2. Thanks. But this idea of FA Cup 1 & 2. Perhaps, you should consider relegating bottom clubs in the FA Cup and promote top teams from lower leagues. This makes the competition more interesting or, if you prefer, intense.
I concur, FA Cup should be FA Cup

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Fantasy Premier League Betting? by GDAY(m): 8:24pm On Aug 10, 2013
Guys, Please let me add some few points. I have been involved in this format where a little bit of Salt n Pepper was added to the competition. The Idea is great for folks passionate about Fantasy Football, even EPL has created a different league this season to spice things up a bit (long awaited). First you will have to create a separate League where
Everyone on the list will be participating. Manager of the Month may not Gel (The Admin Process to run this variant would definitely be overwhelming) either a Ratio for 1st three or Winner takes all without considering prisoners after the season ends. TRUSTED Moderator pools the funds together (it's a plus if the moderator is also an active member) and disburse as agreed to Winners. You don't have to wait to register 20 Participants, whatever Numbers you have after deadline stated, after T&Cs have been agreed is good enough. Suggestion to take this forward:

1.Trusted Moderator should be elected and Agreed by ALL
2. League Created/interested parties signify intention to Play
3. Modalities for Pooling Funds should be Agreed
4. A thread created for Bragging Rights and all the hoopla
5. And lets Play Fantasy Fuss-ball

My Opinion.

Thanks

My friend shuttup with your Bongo league.

Go and open Bongo league thread. I don't want to see Bongo league banter on here during the season.

If I was the admin, I would kick you out the Nairaland league for promoting rival league. Chamotex take note. If we start hearing Bongo yarns through the season, kick him out!!! grin

Lol @ Bongo Yarns.....hahahahahahahahahahaa

Comfortably outscored my 2 main title rivals this gameweek without taking a point hit like they. And they will still take more to field 11 next GW! Sweet! cheesy

Ritchboy should be more pre-occupied with watching his back than trying to catch me.

My work is done this GW.
