Politics / Re: Senate Website, It’s Shutdown & Implications For The Country by gdonmylife(m): 11:18am On Apr 17, 2018
ariesbull:
The Senate website http://www.senate.gov.ng is suspended by its host, a USA based company, BlueHOSTS.

Could be one of two things.
1. Unpaid bills, which cannot (actually) be more than $2,400
2. Violation of the hosts Terms of Service (ToS)

They know they must host with Galaxy Backbone, setup by Government for handling its Communications needs, has all its infrastructure in Nigeria and is sufficiently competent to meet and exceed the needs of the Senate, but a party divided against itself will obviously fall.

Where all over the world, nations are reacting to GDPR and protecting its citizens and their privacy, a Government is hosting its sovereign information overseas, cannot pay its bill which may be lower than my estimate by the way, but over-inflated because of graft.

Can you see the capital flight and the inefficiency? The lawmaking body has demonstrated that they don’t have trust in local hosting firm thereby jettisoning and dumping buy Nigeria to grow the Naira policy of Buhari.

Later some officials will come to ask you … “What do you know about websites?” and the need to continue with your ignorance in 2019!https://etimes.com.ng/nigeria-senate-website-its-shutdown-implications-for-the-country/

That's what you get when you make armatures handle your website to reduce costs.

STILL ON THE AREST AND CONTINUOS DETENTION OF USMAN OKAI AUSTIN
By Dr. Usman Ogbo

For the fast few days I took a break from writing not because those obvious wrongs that we have being talking about are not there but I am becoming tired of talking about the same thing without commensurable expected change.

Two days ago the news of the arrest of Usman Okai Austin started flittering as a rumor until it was finally confirmed that he was arrested at Abuja by the SARS team from Lokoja. To me this is another big-minus mistakes by the Government of Kogi state. There are better ways to handling issues bothering on the activities of the opposition under a democratic settings as ours.

Like my warri friend once said, "I no gree, I no gree, na him dey tear cloth". Arrest certainly is neither the best solution nor the right way to tackling the opposition. In fact in some countries, opposition politicians will deliberately provoke the ruling government for them to be arrested from which they will become famous. Through the arrest, public sympathy will be shifted to them which will become springboard for their political mobilisation.

It is said that if because of "bad belle" you decided to sell off your slave, you may end up selling him to fame and wealth. Since his arrest, a lot of people that probably have not heard about Usman Okai Austin and his social media opposition activities are not only interested in knowing him but has joined the fervent campaign for his unconditional release. The trending story of the arrest of Okai is fast becoming like the story of Joseph in the Bible.

The quantum of the political consequences of the arrest of Austin Okai is akin to the arrest of Mohammed Audu, the first son of late Prince Abubakar Audu who was arrested some months ago by the Kogi State Government and later charged to Magistrate Court Lokoja over frivolous allegations. The government did not only organized a political rally of a kind for the Audu junior free of charge because of the arrest, but also has catapulted him to famous political height.

Let us agree that in the process of playing the opposition figure voice, Usman Okai Austin might have overstretched. But if indiscriminate arrest of those with opposing voice (whether genuine or fabricated) is the way, how many times was Alhaji Lai Mohammed the former National Publicity Secretary of APC and now Minister of Information who though arguably can be described as a leading expert in "blackmail" was arrested by the former President Goodluck Jonathan when he was peddling all manners of accusations against his person and his administration?

Again, if what Usman Okai Austin was saying were not true, what then are the litany and numerous media appointees of the Government with different portfolios who as at the last count are not less than six doing to dispel by countering him with facts and figures? The arrest of Okai to me is a proof of his overpowering steps over those media appointees of the government that are been serviced with the tax payers money.

If I must advice, the government needs to go back to the drawing table to review the steps taken so far with the view to correcting these obvious and avoidable lapses with staring political consequences. The transient nature of power and authority should not be forgotten in a hurry.

The immediate redeeming step is to unconditionally free Usman Okai Austin.

God bless Kogi state.

HungerBAD:
There is dignity in silence.

This Keshi's son should learn how to close his mouth,so he does not turn our sympathy for his family into a political discuss.

Your father has not even been buried, and you want to pick a fight with the Government?are you serious?

Nigeria mourns your dad,but we owe him nothing. Your father did not serve Nigeria for free, there are those that died doing things for Nigeria for free, and their family have been gracious not to politicize anything.

There have been hundreds of Corpers, who have died serving this Country. There have been hundreds of Military people who died fighting Boko Haram.

There was Rashidi Yekini and Samuel Okwaraji, and countless others who never got the kind of money your father made from Nigeria, but even served more than him.

Yet you ungrateful lad is still complaining.

What exactly did you want from the Government?when your father left Nigeria,he went to Togo. So what does this mean?it means he was a mercenary who served different countries.

All life is special, and your dad's death is not more important than the death of any other Nigerian.

Go take a look at the videos of Boko Haram slitting the throats of our Soldiers, and yet your father died of a natural cause, far richer than the Soldiers getting their throats slit for the Country.

This over pampered boy should keep his mouth shut, and mourn his dad with dignity.

Mista, shut up and keep quiet. Why should they promise to help in the first place. It's unfortunate all these are happening.

Family / Re: I Am Scared, My Fiancee And Her Mum Treats Her Father Like A Houseboy by gdonmylife(m): 6:55am On Jul 14, 2016
sammily:
Please I want people to help me out here. I proposed to my girlfriend of 8 months last 2 week ago and we agreed to visit her home last Sunday. I have always dropped her off around the place but I have never entered the house because I wasn't yet ready to meet the parent because we were just dating then and I wasn't yet sure that she was the one for me. Meanwhile all these while, My girl was only referring to her mum so I subconsciously concluded that the father is late. So last Sunday, I got to their house at Agege pen Cinema and what I saw was very sad. I saw a man looking so haggard in the sitting room and I greeted him, He answered in a very low tone and welcomed me. My girls mum soon came out to the sitting room and also greeted me. We exchanged pleasantries before my girl came out to join us in the discuss. At a point my girls mum brought out money and asked the haggard man to go and buy fuel to power the generator for me so that Heat will not disturb me.

We discussed at length after the man left. To cut the long story short, After the meeting we fixed another date for the second meeting that I was supposed to attend with a family member. When I was about leaving, I gave them some money and some to the man and he fell on his knees thanking me as if he has never owned N1000 in his entire life. When my girl was seeing me off, I asked her who the man was and lo and behold, it was her father. I couldn't believe my ears. it was like a rude joke. it was unbelievable. She must has sensed my confusion before she started telling me stories of how the man maltreated her mum when he had money, how he married another wife who squandered all his money and left them in penury. She said he used to beat her mum and all sorts which I cannot write here.

Since that Sunday till now, I've had no peace of mind, I've been thinking and imagining how a right thinking woman and her daughter can comfortably relegate the man of the house to a mere houseboy. That Sunday, the man was wearing a torn knicker and a white singlet that I won't even use to clean my car. Even my wife to be hushed him down when he came back and wanted to keep the fuel change to himself. Something is wrong somewhere, a woman who could treat her husband like this no matter what he did in the past is scary. I have not even picked her calls since that Sunday evening. I am scared and I don't know what to do next.

Guy run for your life. Yours as an in law will be worst. The earlier the better. Don't be lured in by any of their gimmicks. Warning signal for you.

Religion / How Bridget Agbanime Was Murdered In Kofar Wambai Market Kano by gdonmylife(m): 7:27pm On Jun 05, 2016
According to a report from National Helm. Bridget Patience Agbahime of Mbaitoli LGA in IMO State and a wife of Pastor Mike Agbahime a senior pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church, Brigade Quarters in kano state who sold plastic materials at the popular Kofar Wambai market had wanted to close her shop on Thursday June 2, 2016 by 4.30pm to go for a church programme. Her neighbour simply identified as Dauda who is a Muslim came in front of her shop to wash his hands and feet in preparation for his own prayers.
Mummy as fondly called by her church members told him to leave the front of her shop that she wants to lock the door. The man refused and told her to wait till he finishes with what he's doing (N.B;Mrs Bridget had been having serious problems with Dauda to the extent that their matter has been reported to the market association numerously).
So she persisted that he should leave her shop, instead of complying the man started raining abuses on her saying that he would deal with her in the market. After people started gathering around due to the insults and abuses, the man calmed down and left...The woman thinking all had ended went to meet her husband who also has a shop in the same market but different location to report as usual. Both her and her husband went to meet the landlord of her shop, one ALHAJI Mustapha-prominent trader in the market which has been their advovate-to table the latest issue at hand.
While they were reporting the case to Mustapha in the his shop.Dauda and his reinforced gang gathered and started chanting that the woman must die for blaspheming against the prophet Mohammed. The ALHAJI pleaded with them to come back in few days time promising to settle the matter but they vehemently refused and started stoning him. The ALHAJI ran for his life leaving the Mr Mike and his wife in his shop...The woman knowing that her end had com-knelt down and started praying before she was beaten and clubbed to death by the mob right in front of her husband. She was never beheaded.

NEW FRAUD. PLS BEWARE!!

Given below is what happened to someone & he has narrated this in his own words:

" I received a call from someone claiming that he was from my mobile Service provider and he asked me to shutdown my phone for 2 hours for 3G update to take place. As I was rushing for a meeting,I did not question, but just shut down my cell phone. After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and saw several missed calls from my family members and the others were from the number that had called me earlier –I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried asking me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received a call from someone claiming that they had me with them and asking for money to let me free. The call was so real and my parents even heard 'my voice' crying out loud asking for help. My father was at the bank waiting for next call to proceed for money transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them to lodge a police report .Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to shutdown my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and hung up. They kept calling my cell phone until the battery had run down. I myself lodged a police report and I was informed by the officer that there were many such scams reported. MOST of the cases reported that the victim had already transferred the money! And it is impossible to get back the money. Be careful as this kind of scam might happen to any of us!!!Those guys are so professional and very convincing during calls. If you are asked to shut down your cell phone for updates by the service provider, ASK AROUND!Your family or friends might receive the same call. • A lonely teardrop falls down from the President's eye... As they died.
• But where, where? did all these terrorists come from? For I am dazed, stupefied and characteristically discombobulated..
• Far away? from across the neighboring countries? Naija?
• I just don't follow!
And where? where?? Where have all these our Armed Forces now gone ?
• Let the Sun come show them all to us!

It was APC that promised change why is PDP guys like Twitter senator hijacking it.
