Education / Re: MY NIPOST EXPERIENCE - Nigerian Postal Service by gechy456: 1:25pm On Dec 21, 2018
Bethiano:
Hello friends,

This is a thread where we come to share our experience with the Nigerian postal service (NIPOST).

Nipost has undergone transformations recently, especially in the way and manner they do business . A lot of Nigerians have benefited from this transformation.

How be it, I do not claim it is all wonderful experience for everybody.
I know some people may have one or two "not to good" experience , but am sure we have a lot of good testimonies from Nigerians .

So let's here your experience, so we can help drive this transformation of the Nigerian postal service.

I will be sharing news on Nipost, you can also ask questions, an I will do my best to answer based on the much I know or I will refer you to Nipost customer service officers for more information.

You can also make recommendations, give ideas of what more could be done to make NIPOST great.

Thanks

Bethel Ukazu
The NIPOST AMBASSADOR

What will be the duration of your parents stay in US because if you are yet to secure interview date by now, i doubt you'd get for Feb.

RE: Bank statement:- 3 months is Okay. Chances of them asking for it or looking at it is slim but whatever make sure its not oluwole

They may stay awhile. I have to wait till I return to apply. That's the only way I can say I have travelled anywhere. I'll fill the DS 160 form before they leave Sha. We will struggle with the interview. Thank you for your reply.

When is your interview?
Would your parents be in Us by the time you are going for interview? Theres a question of your parents location as at the time.of filling the form. If you can, have your interview before your parents depart for the US So you can answer No to it.
Do u have a relative in Us? YES. Answering No will be the biggest undoing.
Booking a hotel or not:- does not ring true nor make sense to use a hotel when you have a relative close by. If you'd truly stay at her place then be honest about it.

I haven't filled the DS 160 form. My parents will travel to the US when I return in Feb. I will try to go for my interview before they leave, so that I can answer truthfully to their location. I will use my aunt's place as my address because it is quite close to the conference venue. The hotel I wanted to book on Booking.com is 45mins away. I will ask my aunt for a letter, stating that I will be staying with her for the duration of the conference. One last question, I am sponsoring myself. Can I submit a 3month bank statement.
Thank you for your help

Hello experienced nairalanders,
I wish to attend a 5 day conference in new York in July 2019. It is a medical women's conference. I am a medical doctor, married with two kids. I have a 6months UK visa. I will be traveling in Dec to London and will be spending 6 weeks. I will be back in February.
My parents just got their US visas yesterday and they may be in New York in July.
My dilemma is this. My aunt whom my parents will be staying with, lives in bookyln, 20mins walk away from the venue of the conference I will be attending.
I don't mind booking a hotel for my stay.
It is tempting to say that I will be staying with her for the duration of the conference but I feel that it may jeopardize my chances of getting a visa. Especially if my parents are still in her place.
Do I check no to the question 'do you have any relative in the USA? Bear in mind, my parents may be there at the time of application. Do I deny that I do not have an aunt.
Do I book my hotel and state that I may visit her.
I was refused a student visa about 15years ago and this was facilitated by the same aunt.
My people, pls advice me.
