please, who has the right information about re-scheduling an interview date?

from what I've seen online on other forums, the reschedule page usually shows how many attempts you have left, but it seems it's different for the Nigerian page.

when I visited the page, all I saw was a warning that I may lose my visa fees if I cancel. there was no information regarding the number of attempts I should have.

I refreshed the page and to my surprise, I saw another warning that I'm an visiting the page too many times and I may be blocked or something similar.

Omo Na so I pick race close my browser o. sey na this Buhari era person go lose almost 200k visa fees without seeing VO face to face? I go jejely wait for April date .

but seriously, whats the policy for Nigerians? any info?

greetings house,

Am a complete greenhorn here, i tried to read part 1, 2 and this very part, but its not been easy to stay on a laptop all day long. Please i will like you to educate me as i don't want to go through any agent. I am in my early 40s, married but separated, i work with a Fed Agency with 20 years working experience, have traveled to Dubai on a business trip sometimes 2007 and 2013 pilgrimage to Israel, now i want to visit US for vacation and if possible attend few days conference as i billed to proceed on my annual leave by June, 2018. Now, my questions are:

1. Do i still claim married because i just filed for my divorce last week due to unresolved issues.
2. my leave is for four weeks, can i go on 10 days vacation?
3. Can i get any free conference to attend especially something related to my career (Drug Abuse Treatment, counselling and Rehab)
4. What other documents will i need to enable me apply for visiting visa
5. All my documents are still bearing my maiden name, do i claim married or divorced or separated?
6. how do i proceed from here on entire process?
7. how do i find conferences to attend?

Thank you all.

Lol cheesy at bold.
it's not easy, also not realistic to read all parts page by page in my opinion, except maybe for someone who is jobless.

I would rather recommend you use search queries on nairaland, you would be surprised at the info you'll get.

for example to view a lot of transcripts on all USA visit visa threads , just input 'transcript USA visit visa'.

same applies to any major question to need answers to.

if you still can't get answers, then be free to ask, you may get someone willing to answer you and not send you back to part 1 cheesy

A true tourist won't be worked up by a visa refusal. He will take his money elsewhere. #JustSaying

he can take his money elsewhere, but it's his prerogative to get worked up or not, when he paid non refundable visa fees, had invested time (Sebi you people always say we should read from part 1-3,it costs time) and emotions.

it's OK to keep saying its a privilege and a not right, but don't castigate people on how they choose to feel.

even life itself is a privilege, people die everyday for no just cause, and yet we don't go about being happy about it just cos life is a privilege.

even in every business transaction, you do your due diligence, hope for the best, but at the same time, you have the worst case scenario at the back of your mind.

if the worst happens, even after considering the worst, you don't necessary have to feel good about it.

That is how they chose their system to be. It's nothing to do with feminists or not. It's either you abide by it or not.

of course, I know.

it just came as a surprise to me that's all. like what you would expect from our side of the continent. when the first guy mentioned it, i actually assumed he was being sarcastic and I laughed. it was when seyewest also mentioned it I figured it was not a joke.

or maybe it,s not universal, and it was made that way putting our peculiar situation into consideration. afterall it's a visa site for Nigerians.

You should have included that in your earlier submission... There's no way you will fill a Ds160 form without including your education background as a male.

are you really serious that it's not mandatory for females to fill educational qualification while it's mandatory for males?

this feels so wrong.. where are the feminists when you need them

I don't agree with this. High respect for US military personnel isn't a tie. Especially when the particular person is your cousin and not an immediate family member.

I am discouraging this because unscrupulous characters on this forum will codedly start promising applicants with "assured" links to US military personnel that will pose as "cousins" in order for them to get their Visa.

it's OK for you not to agree or discourage. I'm free to air my opinion, same as you.

I am very sure that if visa applicants are meant to go through interview with series of VO one after the other, cases of different verdicts on the same application for same scenario will come up frequently.

so because he was approved visa based on his transcript does not mean someone with a similar transcript will be given visa.

as for the bold, all I can say is 'caveat emptor my friend, caveat emptor' there will always be unscrupulous characters with us

you could have gone a step further to tell us what the 'tie' in his case was

My transcript. interview time was 10:30 am. Queue was so long. After biometrics I was interviewed at Window 7 by a young white guy. he was flowing well with the people at my front, a couple, then he denied them. they were so devastated, I got scared.

V.O ; Good morning
Me; Good morning sir,

VO; Passport please
I handed over to him. types a little then says.
Why are you going to the US?
Me; I'm going to visit my cousin and his family, he invites me for his wedding last October but I couldn't attend because I was so busy with my business, so I promisee to come visiting this Easter.

V;O So you are visiting Philadelphia right?

Me; Yes I am. ( then I remembered my cousin stays in York not Philadelphia. I added that I'll visit Philadelphia cos thats where my flight will arrive, Philadelphia airport) I quickly corrected myself and told him I'll be staying in York and he nodded). I would have lost this visa if I didnt catch up immediately.

V.O; So what do you do?

Me; I'm a fashion designer and I own a boutique. I make clothes and sell, with bags and belts.

V.O; What's your boutique address?
Me; number _____________.

V.O; Are u married or single?
Me; I'm single, I'm very very single!

V.O; ( smiles) do you have kids?
me; no I don't have kids. not yet.

V.O; Where did u school?
me; I schooled at the university of ___////__////

V.O How long is your business?
me; 4 years and three months.

V.O; Have u ever travelled out of the country?
me; No i havent. ( I was trembling at this point)

V.O; What does your cousin do?
Me; He is a member of The US military, he is in the US army.

I will be approving your visa. pick it up at so so place in 3 days. hands me white paper!

if not for this thread I wouldn't have gotten it I learnt a lot here may God bless u guys.

wow, you're highly favored.

I guess what did the trick is the high respect they have for their men and women in service to the country.

which one make we believe now .. OmoBendel24 said Feb still dey available

they do free up some reserved dates from time to time so the available dates fluctuates.

all those agents that tell you they can buy date for you just monitor the site frequently and quickly book or reschedule a date for you when a more favorable date is free. it's not rocket science

right now, available date for lagos is Feb 2nd.
so you see, more reserved dates have been opened

Long post alert!!!!!!!!.

Gurus in the house. Pls I need your advice on this matter. I'm a frequent flier to the Us and have a valid visa . Same as my husband. My younger sister recently suggested to me that she wants her daughter who is my niece to go to the US. I asked them to apply as a family but she's of the opinion that they might not be granted because they have a pending immigrant application filed by our elder brother on their behalf who is a us citizen.. So she's saying she wants her daughter to go visit this our brother and that I should help take her to the embassy

why the rush? why can't they wait for the application filed by your elder brother to come through?
or is she not planning on coming back?

anyways, if there's no intended misuse of visa, she can travel with you. Just get a letter of consent from her parents. that should work.

but if they intend to misuse the visa, it may affect your own visa application in future

it's we Nigerians that like complex things, over there, the simplest solution is usually the answer.

am at a cross road, i succeeded in filling my ds 160 form last night and booked appointment with same. While booking the appointment, innocently i did not fill DS 160 for my dependants, that is, wife and son and instead i put my own ds 160 number in the spaces i ought to put theirs and went ahead to summit, now that i heard i ought to have filled ds160 for them, how do i make this correction considering the fact that have already secured appointment date.

thanks

haven't tried this, Just taking a guess....

fill the ds160 form for your family members respectively

go to your profile where you scheduled appointment, you should see a family link there. open it and see if you can add their details, provided you have paid their visa fees together with yours.

those who have done it before will add or subtract

Issues of espionage, terrorism, human trafficking cannot be pardoned... u hear bro

how can you say you have an uncle in the USA is your past application, and now you're saying its OK to say you don't have a relative in the new application, while your uncle is still residing in the USA?

that is one of the easiest information to confirm. automatic visa denial.

2. Know how the person you are going to visit, got into the US. Legally or illegally.
My opinion.

people with no travel history has been issued visa before and are still being issued visa till date, same goes for denials. this also includes people with travel history.

USA visa is looking more like a 50/50 thing, cos no one knows the exact criteria used.

I think there's a kind of profiling done based on the contents of the ds160 and a recommendation based on the profiling.

maybe what they just do at the interview is body language profiling, with the initial recommendations' from the ds160 in mind.

or maybe it's Just based on the mood of the VO cheesy

Speaking for myself, I have personal beef against agents. One of them scammed my sister-in-law of 500k many years ago. Hadn't come into her family then but I have added it to my beef list.

Most agents thrive on falsehood and sweet talking. They usually give the impression that your visa is assured and make you pay exorbitant amounts for this assurance. Assurance that is not backed up with action because the loss is borne by the client.

Most agents are just glorified gamblers.

lol @ adding to your beef list.

I like to get a lot of info as much as I can and compare notes. so I have talked to a lot of agents even though I know I won't be using their services. and I grill them. some of them say utter rubbish and some are quite sincere in their approach. so I wouldn't have a blanket beef list ontop all agents cheesy
surprisingly some do collect the bulk of the money only after visa is issued.

but I will agree with you that people are paying heavily for ignorance

it's all about business. you see a need, you fulfill it and get paid for your services. that's not a bad thing.

too much of everything creates suspicions. traveling history is good, but too much of traveling up and down looks likes desperation.

you have to ask yourself if all these travelling corresponds with the kind of job you declared, otherwise the VO would assume all your travel history is fake or doctored.

If you are absolutely sure you do not intend to give birth in the US, then one way to go about it is declaring your pregnancy at the interview and insisting you do not plan to give birth...for good measure you can tell the VO to make a note on the transcript saying you voluntarily declared your pregnancy but do not wish to birth with the visa.

Another option is planning the vacation for after your baby arrives.

this makes sense. thanks

If you go through the 2nd and 3rd thread you will see an exact case like this.....

I have gone through a larger part of the 1st and 2nd thread before coming to the part 3 which is this thread, searching for answers.

unfortunately, I did not come across the exact case you referenced, hence my reason for asking here. all the cases I came across were those that actually intended to go and give birth in the USA , but were asking if they could say otherwise at the interview since DW was not yet showing. or those seeking to adjust their intent after the fact, but still intend to give birth in the USA

what I am really asking is if it's safer to declare your pregnancy status to the VO at the interview even if you are not asked in the spirit of full disclosure and you don't intend to give birth in USA , and what are the chances that a visibly pregnant woman on vacation will be sent back at POE even if she has earlier declared her status to the VO.

would be grateful if you direct me to the case or if you can share some insights here with me.

thanks

so we want to apply for a vacation visa. we do have people we know in USA, but just intends to stay in hotel for the duration of the vacation.

now my question is this....

1. do we need to declare my wife is pregnant at the interview even if we are not asked? because I am suspecting my April, when we intend to travel, the pregnancy will obviously be showing, which may arouse suspicions at the POE even though she will not be due till 3 months time after the intended travel date and we are spending just 2 weeks in the USA for vacation.

2. I see they keep .....
