Sparkone:

Hi all, I've been reading the posts on this forum for a few days now, I decided to join as I really appreciate the support you guys are showing each other.
My husband applied for a UK Spouse visa on the 28th November, 2011 and we are yet to hear anything back from the BHC. The status is still showing your visa application has been forwarded to the BHC, our application was submitted at the Abuja VFS. I know only the issuing officer know’s how long we must wait. But I would like to know Genevieveh when did you get your response? Also I send you a big well done, and congrats

Please help. I am preparing my application for spousal visa. Me and my hubby only did a church wedding and we were issued with a marriage certificate by the church. I do not believe my church has been licenced to produce marriage certificates on behalf of the nigerian court. Would the british embassy accept my application or would the embassy insist on having a marriage certificate issued by the nigerian court registry. E.g. Ikoyi Registry. Please reply.
yes it will b safer because i think d recognise d registry certificate more n dnt forget to d a newspaper publication for ur change of name.submit all original documents.i just got my own visa.
Praying for you

@ Genevieveh.

We will have to wait & see.
However that should not stop them working behind closed doors?!, may be not just opened to the public.
Anyway, at least you have submitted, so that is a step forward.
Take care.

See you around.

hi
please i am still waiting. I do not know if the BHC is affected by the strike at least if i know i can understand why it is taking so long to give me a reply.
Thnx

@ Genevieveh,

What strike is that?.
You can follow up your application via phonecall or e-mail quoting your reference.
There is nothing to be afraid of, cause people will advice against it that this action could delay!!!.
What about sending an e-mail.
The standard time could be quoted, 3 months? or other processing time statements.
Follow your heart.
I do realise it is a lot on your mind, however try not to worry, instead be hopeful and keep yourself busy.
Keep me posted, who knows the story could change sooner than you think.
Be hopeful and stay positive.

See you around.
hi
the strike action planned in nigeria to take off on monday the 9th of january with regards to the fuel subsidy removal.i applied on the 28th of november so it is not up to 3months yet but they say the will lock markets, banks, all offices, so i don't know if the british embassy will be part of it.
Thanx.

@ Genevieveh.

You have every right to follow up your application process.
Please try not to worry cause It does not add to anything.
It will be over soon, after all the holiday is over now and work should be back to normal.
So no need to worry.
BHC do have their processing times etc, however one hopes and prays for a straightforward and swift turnaround.

See you around.
hi
i am a bit worried,i don't know if the british embassy will take part in the strike action coming up on monday because my status is still reading fowarded to BHC and if they participate that will delay my process seriously

Omo_Tier1:

If your application is straight forward, most likely second week of January you might get a text alert. Some how towards the end of 2011, BHC seems to have increased their tempo on visas processing, so you just have missed out on that. Best of luck all the same,
thank u so much for the reassurance but i was told to track my application online they said smthn about sms tracking no longer being available.though i would have prefered it.
