My good people of Nairalanders please you guys should be asking your questions here. I am not doing good to this forum by answering all of your questions outside of this window. I haven't been able to participate fully as usual on this thread for some couple of days now because of so many private messages, SOP's, LOE's, complaints etc. that i receive from prospective applicants here, which I am still battling to respond to all. Please let's keep to the purpose this thread was originally created and drop all our queries here, so that other applicants who share similar situations/cases like yours would learn and make the most of it. When this is done, it becomes a two-way benefit!

What's the point you have to confirm attendance 1st of August most likely. Why not defer before applying

As for your SOP I doubt if I will have time for it now, how soon do you intend to apply?

@Anamekele Your profile is very okay, but like I said before you applied (I just remembered) your intended course (civil/environmental) and previous course (petroleum) are not directly related, so you have to really work on your SOP to show the vo how they are both related. I know there's a link between both but like I said most of these VOs don't have idea about all these so it is your duty to explain to them in detail(like a you are talking to a layman). I bet you with a good SOP you will scale through. I don't think you need to change any other thing on your profile, just work on your SOP and explain how related both courses are.
Another option (easiest) will be getting a PhD admission on petroleum engineering.
NB: If you decide to go with the first option, work on your SOP and send to me and other guys let's see how we can try to put one or two together to assist. Good luck

You need both letters. Write a self introductory letter and let the organization you work with also introduce you to the consular stating your job role and that you will be on leave for the period you intend to travel.
