So so disappointed. Thought ICC has come to serve the short man and the puppet summons for their crimes against Easterners or at best for ruining a thriving nation and impoverishing its citizens.

That would have been the best news of 2022.

Family / Lady Calls Out Her Newly Wedded Husband For Deceiving Her Into Marrying Him by Gentlerespect76: 9:15pm On Apr 19, 2022
Lady calls out her newly-wedded husband for allegedly deceiving her into marrying him

Two months after their wedding, a lady has called out her husband, Emmanuel Egba, for allegedly deceiving her into marrying him.

The lady, identified as Oladimeji Oluwatosin, revealed they got married on February 19, 2022, at First East Circular road, in Benin City, Edo State.

According to her, “We dated for six months and he said he wanted to get married. He deceived me into marrying him because we are Witnesses and we believe once we get married we can't divorce, except on the ground of adultery.

He borrowed money to show off, pretended that he was rich and came for my hand in marriage. My family and I agreed because he was acting all nice.

When we were preparing for the wedding he lied that his company was owing him N11million. So my family took the responsibility of the wedding, did everything, only for me to get to his house and find out he has been lying to me all along.

He promised to open a tailoring shop for me but he couldn’t even feed me, talk more of opening the shop. I told him I was going to tell the elders in our congregation and he thre#tened to k#ll me because he knew he would be disfellowship.

He even locked me in the bathroom one day and I was screaming for help, luckily for me his neighbors came to my rescue. I left his house that day.

Ladies that want to get married now should please make thorough research before they get married.”

Politics / Re: Disband EFCC, ICPC Rather Than Embarrassing Them, Wike Tells Buhari by Gentlerespect76: 5:34pm On Apr 19, 2022
Warlord12:
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says the presidential pardon for persons prosecuted on corruption charges by the Federal Government only suggests that there is no need to have anti-corruption agencies in the country.

He believes the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) have been made to suffer an embarrassment as the pardon has made them irrelevant.

The governor stated this on Monday while addressing delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State, as part of his ongoing consultation ahead of the party’s presidential primary.

He was reacting to the pardon granted to former governors Jolly Nyame of Taraba State and Joshua Dariye of Plateau State by the Council of State last week.

“This is the same government that complained against the judiciary that it is not fighting against corruption,” he was quoted as saying in a statement by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri. “Now, look at what the judges have passed through; sleepless nights from the FCT High Court to the Court of Appeal to Supreme Court, everything is wasted.

“If President Muhammadu Buhari knows that he doesn’t want to fight corruption, then, he should disband EFCC and ICPC because he has thoroughly embarrassed them.

“So, all these things he (Buhari) is doing is because of the election coming soon. They want this person in Plateau State to help them and they want this person in Taraba State to help them, but it will not work because Wike will face them in that election.”

Governor Wike also dismissed the defence put up by the President’s spokesman on why the pardon should not be faulted.

Rather, he said it should be a thing to worry about because the same people who said they were fighting corruption were going through the back to release the same people whom they claimed were corrupt.

“So, when his pressman said I was invited to the Council of State, is it because I’m not there, that is why they did what they did? the governor asked. “If you wanted me to contribute, you would have sent me the agenda. Then, I would have known what I’m coming to do in the meeting.

“It’s not when you don’t send me agenda, I come, then you boxed us in, ambushed us, then you said I attended the meeting where they approved it. I will not attend such a meeting. When they said my deputy attended and when they looked back, they could not see my deputy again.

“Why would you see her? When she had seen what was there, she had to switch off because she knew it was a ‘wayo’. That is what this APC government is known for.”

The governor told the delegates that it was time for Nigerians to brace up to correct what he termed the mistake that brought the All Progressives Congress (APC) government to power.

He said he was offering himself as the most competent aspirant seeking their votes at the presidential primaries to fly the flag of the PDP.

Governor Wike insisted that it would require a man like him to end the sight of insecurity and poverty bedevilling various parts of the country.

Yorubas were compensated because they supported the cause of democracy and they fought for it.
You can't have an Nzeribe that went to court for the annulment of June 12 election and recently Nnamdi Kanu and his useless IPOB killing people and expect to be "compensated".

You are talking gibberish. Don't know whether you want to be downright mischievous or you are sincerely ignorant. Have you heard of NADECO before? I want to believe you don't know much of history, so know this:
“The major organisation that emerged which helped to shape the anti-military and pro-democracy movement was the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO).  NADECO was roughly a product of another organisation which existed before the June 12 crisis.

“This was the Committee for Unity and Understanding (CUU).  The overriding motive of CUU was the campaign for power shift from the North to the South. It was started not long after the Babangida transition-to-civil-rule programme started. Founders and key members of the CUU included Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, Chief Sam Mbakwe, Mr Ayo Opadokun, Chief Edward Kobani, Chief Lulu Briggs, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, Alhaji Abdulazeez Ude, Ambassador Tanko Yusuf and General Theophilus Danjuma.

Foreign Affairs / Russia’s Thrust In Eastern Ukraine Combines Firepower And New Caution by Gentlerespect76: 3:20pm On Apr 19, 2022
KHARKIV, Ukraine — When Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February, its strategy featured a rapid advance of tanks and helicopter assaults deep into the country — two strategies that ultimately failed and cost Moscow an untold number of casualties.

Now, with a narrower goal focused primarily on Ukraine’s east, Russia said on Tuesday that it had begun the new military campaign, which Ukrainian and U.S. officials said will be much more methodical.

Instead of lightning attacks from the Russian front lines, Moscow’s forces — arrayed in a semicircle that stretches west to east from the city of Izium to Sieverodonetsk — have increased their artillery barrages and sent small detachments of troops to probe Ukrainian lines. Many of the Ukrainian troops that are in this region, known as the Donbas, are entrenched in earthworks that have been there for the better part of a decade.

Known as “shaping operations” in military circles, these smaller Russian attacks are often precursors to larger troop movements, or serve as a distraction from other fronts. In the past several days the Russians have sent around 11 more battalion tactical groups into the Donbas, bringing the number there to around 75, according to Pentagon officials. Each group has roughly a thousand troops.

In Horlivka, a city occupied by Russian-backed separatists, a resident said on Tuesday that, after a week of quiet, there was now heavy artillery fire coming from the Russian side, along with troop movements and Russian jets flying overhead.

There were strikes across Ukraine in the last several days signaling a new escalation: In Kharkiv, for instance, Russian artillery slammed into a frequently shelled residential area on Tuesday, killing at least three people. The lethal strike comes on the heels of two days of blistering rocket and artillery attacks into parts of the city that have been rarely hit in the past month.

Other cities like Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Kyiv, the capital, were hit with cruise missiles and artillery fire as Russian forces prepared ground troops for their thrust in the Donbas, an industrial heartland in the east the size of New Hampshire.

One resident in Kramatorsk — one of the larger cities in the Donbas still in Ukrainian hands, which is likely to be one of Russia’s main targets in the offensive — stood and watched from a vantage point in recent days as the front line to the northwest of his city erupted in concentrated artillery barrages.

“Russian forces have started the battle for the Donbas that they have been getting ready for a long time,” Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, said in a video Monday night. “A very significant part of the Russian Army is now concentrated for that offensive.”

The two sides have been locked in a battle in the Donbas for the last eight years, with Ukrainian government forces fighting Russian-backed separatists. The coming battle, on wide-open terrain, will look significantly different from the urban warfare that took place around Kyiv, where the Russian military tried and failed to take the capital.

“Compared to the first few weeks of the war, this next offensive is a lot less decisive than it may seem,” said Michael Kofman, the director of Russian studies at CNA, a research institute in Arlington, Va. “No matter what happens in the Donbas, the costs are likely to be so high that the Russian military will be a spent force.”

While Russian forces are probing Ukrainian front lines and putting forces into position in the northern reaches of Donbas, the fight in the south — around the city of Mariupol — has turned into a full-blown siege, with the encircled Ukrainian defenders there barely holding out. Thousands of civilians have been wounded or killed in the monthlong battle, according to Ukrainian officials.

Svitlana Grebinyk, 46, said she last heard from her son there, a Ukrainian marine, on April 12. He had sent a message to her daughter on Instagram.

Russia-Ukraine War: Key Developments
Card 1 of 4
A new phase of the war. Russia declared that its offensive for control over Ukraine’s industrial heartland was underway as it bombarded targets across the sprawling eastern front. Ukrainian officials said they were mounting a spirited defense.

In Mariupol. About 2,000 people were trapped at a large steel factory in Mariupol along with Ukrainian forces that are waging what appears to be the last defense of the city. Russia is seeking to take the city as part of a strategically important “land bridge” to occupied Crimea.

Possible banned weapons. Based on evidence reviewed by The Times, it is likely that Ukrainian troops used cluster munitions in an eastern village that they were attempting to retake from Russian forces. The weapons are banned by many countries for the harm they can cause to civilians.

Russia’s economy. While President Vladimir V. Putin boasted that the Russian economy is holding up under Western sanctions, his central bank chief warned that the consequences were only beginning to be felt, and Moscow’s mayor said that 200,000 jobs are at risk in the capital alone.

She paraphrased him: “I don’t have a way out. We have no other choice. We will most likely be in captivity.”

Capturing Mariupol is a key part of the Russian campaign in Ukraine’s east. The city’s fall would allow Russia to complete a land bridge between Russian territory and occupied Crimea. It would also allow Russian forces to reconstitute and push north to Ukrainian positions around the city of Zaporizhzhia. This could enable them to put added pressure on Ukrainian troops from the north and the south, stressing supply lines and other resources.

Tetiana Plysenko, 61, a resident of Huliaipole, one of the towns north of Mariupol that is on the front line, said little had changed in the last few days. The shelling continues unabated, though on Saturday there was an airstrike near the town — a rarity, another resident of the town said.

“Some people,” Ms. Plysenko said, “have come back and tended their gardens recently.”

Ukrainian forces have responded in kind to the Russian escalation, firing their own artillery — a mixture of howitzers, mortars and unguided rockets — to disrupt and delay any larger attack.

But despite supplies and renewed commitments from the United States and other NATO countries, Ukrainian officials continue to voice deep concerns about their own supply of ammunition and whether it will be sufficient to keep the advancing Russian forces at bay.

The Ukrainian military “repulsed seven enemy attacks, destroyed 10 tanks, 18 armored units and eight vehicles, one artillery system, and an enemy mortar,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Tuesday. Those claims could not be independently verified.

Read this on a group platform. It's witty and makes a lot of sense. As a man who understands the ups and downs of marital tie, i am sharing to encoutage all married men and women to continue to hold their grounds in marital fidelity and unity grin!

My wife and I had an issue this morning before we left for work. It was a small misunderstanding between me and her.

We were both angry with each other. From my facial expression, my wife knew I was very prepared to keep malice with her that morning. She was also angry and didn't mind playing along.

I stepped out of the house and she locked the doors and followed me behind. Since we don't have a car, we always board the same bus to work every morning and ensure we sit together- side by side on the bus.

I was to drop at Manda hill and she was to drop at zesco.

But today, I didn't want to sit close to her. So I sat at the back seat and she sat in front, just beside a good-looking Police officer.

The man glanced at my wife. I saw the way he looked at her hair and face with so much admiration. Then he told her she looked beautiful. My wife smiled and told him thank you.

He asked my wife where she was going and she told him she was heading to work.

All this while, I was sitting behind and listening to their conversation.

"My name is Mwansa Mweemba. I am a police officer as you can see from my uniform. I was just posted to Lusaka a month ago. Right now I am heading to my place of assignment."

My wife nodded her head. When the conductor requested for my wife to pay her transport fare, the officer offered to pay. He pulled out a K50 and Said Two.

My wife thanked him and smiled.

Then the officer continued.

"So I will be dropping soon at Munali I am accommodated at Chelston Police Camp. I don't know if you can drop by someday to say hello to me. Can I have your number?"

I didn't waste any more time. I tapped my wife on her shoulders immediately.

She turned.

And then I asked her.

"Hope you remembered to put a spoon inside Kasubas lunch box? You know you always forget."

My wife was puzzled. She was probably wondering who Kasuba is, and why I had chosen to talk to her. Before she could ask any further questions I added.

"Try to pick her up from school early today. I will be coming back home late. You can cook ifinkubala for me for dinner so that when I return I will eat something before bed."

My wife was confused.

Then she glanced at the police man and returned her gaze to me. She understood what I was trying to do.

"Yes, honey." She nodded.

The police man turned and saw me. He greeted me. Then he asked my wife.

"Is that your husband?"

My wife nodded. The police man glanced at me again and again.

Then he glanced for the last time and smiled at me.

I didn't smile back.

When we got to the Chainama I dropped from the bus and dragged my wife along with me.

My wife couldn't stop laughing. While we were about to board another bus, she asked me.

"Honey, who is Kasuba?"

"Kasuba is our future daughter. Jump on the bus let us go."

My wife laughed.

We boarded another bus to and this time, we sat together. Side by side in the bus. And this time I paid for her.

Don't worry the truth will soon surface. I'm even sure the girl is older than the boys in question. Common let's be real I remember vividly when I was 10 years, I usually look up to watching storyland, storyland in NTA channel 7 every Thursday and on Sundays it was tales by moonlight. I was never preoccupied by thinking of how to have different styles of sex. The parent should tell the actual age of that child. I have kids within that age so I also know what I'm saying. If as a parent you start giving your kids unrestricted access to mobile device and the internet be ready for it's consequences
I agree with you.

@Gentlerespect76 I disagree with your arguments.. The parents and to some extents d school are to blame. I mean we all know the snares children face in school, but if as a parent you give your children liberties at home and fail to prepare them for the encounters at school, you are sure to fail. And dnt go blaming others for your failures
The point I am making is that no parents would give their female child opportunity to sleep alone with males in a room. Not possible. Now the school sent the kids with some sort of chaperones to Dubai, and this unfortunate thing happened. How could you blame the parents under this extenuating circumstance? Those chaperones and the school are to blame, period.

Are you working in this school or there is else you know beside that on the public domain?

Look, as a parent, once you send your child off to school, the absolute duty to safekeep and protect the child rests with the school. The parents are not to blame in anyway here because the incident happened far away in Dubai while the child was in custody of the school or through its superintendents (here teachers or other school workers). For the girl in question, it bleeds my heart that you are even thinking of blaming her, a mere child of 10. What's wrong with you? The child is incapable of knowing the implications of her actions at this age. Please stop talking about subjectivity here. I am a parent whose child is at least 5/6 years older than that child. For over 13 years of schooling I pick my children up from school; I know what I am saying.

It is now a law to transmit votes electronically, that means rigging of elections has been reduced drastically.

Igbos are only tribe that have 99% of voters in the South East and second highest voters in other regions in Nigeria.

In the South West, after Yoruba votes, Igbo votes come second. Lagos has the highest number of voters in Nigeria and Igbos are competing with Yorubas in voting power in Lagos.

In the South South, we have indigenous Igbos in the South South and all the major cities in the South South are occupied by Igbos. Go to Port Harcourt you will understand what I mean.

In the North Central, go to Jos and all the state capital in the North Central, Igbos are the second largest population after the indigenous people.

In the North West, go to Kano and Kaduna and you will know that Igbos are the second largest population after indigenous people.

In the North East, go to Maidugri and all the state capitals, Igbos are the second largest tribe after the indigenous people.

Go to federal capital territory Abuja, Igbos are the largest population in Abuja today.
